3:11 When I first saw this episode, I recognized that the photo copier Stan uses was the same one that clones bodies, etc. So it would make sense that Grunkle Stan would have access to the invisible ink as well. When Mabel and Dipper discovered it, Stan found out about the ink too, meaning he could access it without stealing Dipper's journal.
"What's the one thing I asked you not to do tonight?" "Raise the dead." "And what did you do?" "Raise the dead." The delivery on that is right up there with "It's the Staypuft Marshmallow Man" for me XD
No spoilers just a guess of my own: I think Stan might still be able to see the black light messages in his copied pages since he used that magic copy machine. If it could copy a whole person including voice and the sides that weren't on the scanner, I think it could copy invisible ink.
I'm noticing all of the fun foreshadowing this episode has for both later on it it, as well as in the season, now. This is hilarious and I can't believe I never noticed Candy's "Stan's brains look delicious" line being a reference to the zombies later, before. haha
My favorite part is Dipper's reaction to the first line of Taking After Midnight: "Friday night and we're going to party till dawn" "Don't worry daddy" "I've got my favorite dress on!?" MABEL THIS IS STUPID! Made even better by Stan's line "Are lives may not be worth this." LOL Not surprised you gals got into the songs with trouble though.
One thing I think this season opener does well is reintroduce us to a majority of the characters - even the one-offs like Mr. Poolchek. There was a year-long break between seasons 1 and 2 - basically forever in kid's tv time - so bringing back all these characters for a party was a great way to reestablish everyone. And a few season 1 jokes come back, like "Gold Chains for Old Men" and the Puma Shirt-Panther Shirt bit (Did you guys notice what he ended up choosing?). Meanwhile, Grunkle Stan's reveal that he's known all along and the blacklight text provide major momentum going forward into Season 2, and the whole karaoke scene is just *chef's kiss*

Amphibia might be a good series to follow this up with. It's created by Matt Braly, one of the directors of this show. It can be a more light hearted series than Gravity Falls but some episodes really tug at the heart strings. It runs for quite a few episodes. You could hold a vote for which episodes for you all to watch. Be sure to keep a box of tissues nearby for some of those emotional moments!
After the Time Travelers Pig this is my close close favorite. Soos is just amazing. "Can I eat your brains? Yay or Nay? Seeing some Yay faces over there." Brilliant.
You didn't react to one of the most adult jokes in the whole series? Wendy turning on the black light, her mouth glows and she says "wow, looks like a crime scene in there"
oh man. this season is gonna be even better then the first! i am really exited. Gravity Falls still has a lot of secrets for you gals to uncover and i honestly can't wait for the next episode!
Someone might have already pointed this out, but remember the ep where they locked Tyler Cutebiker (the 'get 'em, get 'em' guy) in the store because he couldn't decide between the puma and panther shirt? We see him for a second in this ep and he has cut the two shirts in half and stiched them into one. Keep an eye out for the agents in the background of other eps! Off topic now, I keep seeing all Kat's cool witchy stuff. For one, want SO bad! For another, curious if you've ever watched the OG Charmed series?
1:40-46 That name has a couple punny meanings. Th most obvious being his resemblance to the US dollar bill design of the eye of provide. It's also a play on Beale Cypher. One of the oldest legendary codes for buried riches that no one's ever been able to solve (and the lack the character is most certainly con/fraud.) Finally if you put the two names together is sounds like Lou-Cypher. Since he is a shady demon of "wealth and taste" who likes to make deals. No really spoiler as his origins or motives. Just some amusing things to recognize.
Please react to Gotham, it ran for five seasons and was about Bruce Wayne as a kid before he became Batman, it also gave its own interpretation on the origins of various Batman villians like The Riddler, Joker, Scarecrow, Bane etc. It was a fantastic show.
As it is not part of this YT "short" reaction, I didn't get to see your, well, reactions to the zombie getting decapitated and the head sailing towards the "camera", but that was an homage to "Evil Dead 2: dead by Dawn". Pretty wolf for a show that's "supposedly" a kids' cartoon.
Supposedly the zombies are meant to be the lumberjacks who were washed away in the Northwest Manor episode, although I've not seen that confirmed (same as how the ghost was supposedly one of Wendy's relatives).
