Looks like a nice camera, but I want to keep my C70. I just wish Canon would release a 15-60mm f2.8 APSC lens like it was rumored a couple of weeks ago. That would be the best lens for the C70 and even R7.
Sounds like a great lens! But having f2.8 and the option to go wider are both things I really need. That's why I'm using the 15-35 for now but it doesn't go tight enough and it's heavier than it could be because it's for full frame.
I just want to predict something dumb and see how close I get. Full frame, box camera, 6k, cf express cards, ND filters but no stabilization, internal raw. A bit bigger than an fx6 and about twice as much.
@@Rhythm_Academy Yeah, I have a pair of c70's too and I love them. I could see the c200 idea for sure, but other than rigging options I don't see to many advantages over a c70 unless it's full frame. Also the first photos I saw of this had a touch of the sensor in it, and it looked bigger than the sensor looks on my c70s. Haha, who knows. We'll find out in a bit, and I'll probably be totally wrong.

I hope Canon will step up their RF lenses game as recently after seeing Sony announced compact G lenses with an aperture control ring I nearly sold all my canon gear (2x C70 | 2x R5 | RF 24-70 f2.8 | Rf 70-200 f2.8 | EF 16-35 f2.8 III) and wanted to get a pair of FX3 and an A7R4. What stopped me was the large battery, ND filter and built in mini XLR. Let's see how long I will be holding on to my EOS Kit

RF, Full Frame, 8k DGOish, fast enough not to need Rolling Shutter, SDI, Box, ND's (variable would be a plus), dual B cards, more DR, good low light, under $10,000, fully articulating LCD (or just flip), refined Quick menus and V-mount (optional). Come on Canon. I only have Canon products. I'm right, right? This will keep me forever. I'd be fine with 6k if I need to bargain here.
How much more DR? 15 stops is plenty good. FF isn't for everyone - I do love it and understand people do. also 8K is not that essential ( for most workflows and arguably they have the R5), Vmount I dont see canon doing ever in terms of being built in, arguable vmount is a dying piece of tech and bmount is what youd want, though mini vmounts are great. However BP-A are fantastic and can be very small. While i'd also say the 10K price tag is unrealistic more likely 15K its almost you want everything for very little and this isnt BMD. Personally id be happy with 4K RAW 120. 6K would be nice or canons 5.9k. Compact but powerful - not a complete box design. Decent intergreted EVF or even better optional one. bright screen - moveable like c200 - built in XLRs on the body, personally happy with Mini keeping the size down. Dual B type cards. Though essentially a C500 at the cost of a c300 in a body a bit larger than a c70 and obviously RF mount / Locking RF mount. Though they could announce two Cameras one FF one S35 with the same form factor. Would also be cool. The only thing makes me think they will announce a FF camera is due to the 24-105 2.8 Clearly that lens is lacking a proper camera body to utilise it fully.

Though I feel most have caught up to some degree. The c70 is my dream camera to be honest I feel there isn't much to do to beat it except cfexpress and better raw options. I feel an evf option just allows it to be more versatile. I personally love them but it's a bit hard with the touch AF these days, though a bright solid evf is amazing. Though good monitors are great I think in terms of pricing you have to look from when the camera was new a c70 new was 6.5k so double that would be 13k. I think if they release something in the 8-12k and 15-20k region would be expected The could also just bring out a C50 and be a heavily reduced C70 box style camera for drones and gimbles for £5k
@@heartshapedfilms 8K is nice because it gets you a straightforward color sampling for the debayering process to a 4K image. It also allows you to get an oversampled image for 4K resolution if you want to shoot S35. If they can maintain DR and sensitivity at 8K, I would prefer it to the 6K on the C500 MKII.
I´m wondering why there is no autofocus for frame rates up to 120p. The C70 has it. So implementing it in the C400 should be no problem for Canon. Especially considering the C70 is a lower tier camera than the C400. 🤔

I've been waiting for this for a long time. Anything is possible. Now that Nikon bought RED we might get a nice RAW codec. In addition I'm curious what Canon now does with their new abilities after purchasing those sensor building machines!
This must be a BOX camera to rival the Blackmagic Pyxis. Hope it will also be in the same price bracket, this will give people more options. It’s good the the Pyxis is not out yet, I will pick Canon any day over Blackmagic due to the autofocus features
