    I bought a used Grizzly V2 back in April and almost immediately blew the rear controller, which I purchased from Ariel Ryder for around $400. That's just the risk of buying a used electric vehicle with over 1000 miles on it. However, it was well worth it because this baby is a battle tank on these rough and highly unfriendly NYC roadways.
    I'm about to transform it into a completely new bike over the winter and have it back on the road by Spring 2024.

      I have one also, I'm happy with mine the way it is. But a lot of people want these bikes to be motorcycles, by going to more powerful controllers like the far drivers, and Sabvatrons 72 volt 150-200 amps which is crazy to me. Good luck!!

    Glad you finally got a V3 Grizzly. I also have the same. Set the wheel diameter to 22" and the speedometer will match the GPS app. I also have a Wired Freedom E-bike. The Grizzly has more torque with both motors turned on. Thanks for the review. I think the Grizzly will take the throne away from your Citizen E-bike.

    Just bought mine a month ago and love it. I bought the yellow which came in a more gold shine that matches closer to the shocks. Going to upgrade the handlebars soon and add some storage on the back. Super fun but gotta ride carefully.

    You may find those handlebars are steel bars just to get an extra pound or two over the front wheel to stop it spinning as much off the line. I’d check before you dump them. If you put a set of light BMX bars on it you might be spinning even more?? Just a thought..

    I have a rad city 3 e bike that I have 4300 miles on. It is 2 years old. I use it almost every day during the summer commuting to save on gas. The build quality is very good. I have been studying the Ariel and I like that you have extended range and speed but it looks impractical as a bike since it appears you cannot adjust the seat height for optimal pedal position. My rad city has a max range of 40 miles at a max speed of 24 mph. But depending on conditions headwinds I get about 30 miles at 20 mph. Pls advise on the bicycle option because I use the e bike as a work out machine and not as an electrified scooter. Thanks

    36 mph is where the motors meet their natural loaded RPM for the voltage. 36mph is very healthy, but if you do need to go faster you need controllers with field weakening, or go to higher voltage batteries which will be expensive and not as good looking. I'd be fine with it stock, but that throttle delay would drive me nuts! It will be interesting to see if the Citizen Cycle can beat it. I could beat a first gen Grizzly with a RadMini, but the gen 3 is probably quicker off the line.

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The throttle delay is definitely not my favorite. And I don't think it's gonna be able to take out Citizen Bike. This bike is definitely powerful.
      But I thought it would have more juice...

      @@sbukosky I have the same model. I never saw them as ugly. I like the decals and everything but that aside, I feel similarly when it comes to what it provides me.
      Someone who doesn’t want to need to mount multiple items beyond the standard handlebars’ surface area won’t get the added benefit of this odd ladder design. (Hmm. I wonder if the design is stronger.)
      So, I understand focusing on that more in those cases (or any case, if it’s your money and not mine) but I’d love to put my goodies on that sucker in its stock configuration.
      Lastly, I thought it didn’t fold. Then the unboxing showed the tired next to each other and I was about to be blown away…until I saw they were there because one needed to be attached. 😆
      I went on a whole rollercoaster ride by myself.

    🐍 Grizzly tires stand tall out of the box and give the best top speed for the first 50 miles or so, then the nubs wear down and the sidewalls soften and lower the tire profiles. E-Huntsman tires from VeeTire restore the taller tire stance & give you back a 2-3 mph increase.😉👍

    • @-.O.-
      @-.O.- ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't heard Huntsman's giving you more mph. It might be able to maintain the mph but the acceleration and torque will be affected because of how much heavier and higher density they are compared to the stocks.

    • @anacondahugs808
      @anacondahugs808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @-.O.- Clearly you don't own one and just spew useless comments on people's videos. It doesn't matter. The Grizzly has plenty of torque to spare.

    • @-.O.-
      @-.O.- ปีที่แล้ว

      @anacondahugs808 It's physics and momentum. I have Huntsmans and they're heavier with more density than any stock tire out there so it will affect acceleration for all bikes but it's a sacrifice that many are still willing to take but should be noted.

      The Huntsman you lose 2 to 3 MPH not gain. They are heavy. He better off getting something like TPI 60 rated tires. Get pavement grade tire that are less aggressive and much lighter then you gain performance instead of losing. I don’t personally like Vee tires as used them and they don’t bead correctly and don’t hold up as well. My personal favorite are the Innova Hybrid, or Arisun, they about $140 in the states, or China $98 for the set of your willing to wait. They grip good the road, quiet and last set had about 2500 miles on it and not a single flat and didn’t use fix a flat at all. They are good tires. So bought a new set for new bike. One drawback is not good if you off-road a lot, then you need aggressive thread tires at that point.

    Ariel rider WILL NOT sell parts to non original purchasers. I dm'd them months ago about this. They gave a weird answer stating something about stolen bikes. This is the problem I had with ebike companies months ago. No parts sold to people with second hand bikes. They all talk the big talk about saving the environment but cause a lot of waste. There ain't nothing being saved...only created. Something MUST be done about this problem. All the reviewers on TH-cam never have a discussion about this growing problem, none of them. I guess I'm part of this problem. If no one else speaks up what will be done? I like my ebike but afraid to what may come after 1 year. This is why I think ebikes are still a niche market. They are still for people that tinker and know how to Frankenstein an ebike together with aftermarket parts. I'm afraid to recommend ANY ebike to anyone who asks.

      interesting... i have not heard that about Ariel. I bought my grizzly on facebook marketplace second hand so I guess they wont sell me anything for it, that seems odd, why wouldn't they want to keep their bikes running... Nothing has broken on my yet, but i'm that guy who will just tinker and fix myself. I have never heard of a company saying this. i'm very surprised.

    My wife had a 50cc Yamaha Zuma scooter. It had a top speed of 35 mph on the flat but struggled to go 20 mph up a moderately steep hill. So I pretty much know what it's like to ride a Grizzly. Total dog. She got rid of it because it was much too slow to keep up with traffic around town and got a 250 cc Vespa with a top speed of over 60 mph. That had no trouble keeping up with traffic.
