I remember being there (at Woodstock) in August of 1969 and there were about a half million other people there as well. Since then, I must have met 2 million people that claimed to be there. I wish we can all go back to that time when everyone liked and respected one another.

Joan Baez, Judy Collins, and Linda Ronstadt had the most beautiful, stirring singing voices in music history! Gives me chills.

I was at Woodstock for this and remember being bummed out, cold , tired, hungry and then Joan Baez came on stage and started singing and I got my second wind.

i understood everything you said apart from being bummed out/ bored at woodstock 69.. it´s classified as a disaster area :s, filled with the greatest musicians in the the world :).. plus half million people :o!!.. what were you doing?!... not enough drugs ;)?.. just curious :).

i was there from tuesday. i saw joan at the warmup stage. i spent the whole time wandering around in the woods above the main stage and the main incoming road drifting from one joint to another. i only went down into the big crowd one time. i dont remember the rain. i didnt care about eating. i probably had a handful of granola from wavy gravys camp. i would not have been able to sit on a blanket in the big crown. i never stopped moving. i still have the original program guide. i also had a good camping spot from getting there early. what a blast

@@ameliatighe6737 My best friend Gary and I came with the just the tee shirts on our back. We assumed we could buy food and drink. We left Sunday mid day and walked ten miles to Monticello and caught a bus to NYC.Gary died of a drug overdose 3 years later. Been back there three times since.

As mega corporations destroy the working class of this country, I needed to hear this today. It was a time when the music really meant something. Joan Baez didn't need a dozen dancers behind her and a computerized light show to get my attention.

I dreamed, I saw Joe Hill last night
    Alive as you and me
Says I "But Joe, you're ten years dead"
    "I never died" says he
    "I never died" says he
"The copper bosses killed you, Joe"
"They shot you Joe" says I
"Takes more than guns to kill a man"
    Says Joe "I didn't die"
    Says Joe "I didn't die"
And standing there, as big as life
    And smiling with his eyes
Says Joe "What they can never kill
    Went on to organize
    Went on to organize"
From San Diego up to Maine
    In every mine and mill
Where working folks defend their rights
    It's there…

"My will is easy to decide
For there is nothing to divide
My kin don't need to fuss and moan
"Moss does not cling to rolling stone"
My body? Oh, if I could choose
I would to ashes it reduce
And let the merry breezes blow
My dust to where some flowers grow
    Perhaps some fading flower then
Would come to life and bloom again.
This is my Last and final Will.
Good Luck to All of you

Joan Baez "owns" this song. I have never found a more beautiful recording of it. The emotion she builds into this song with her inimitable voice is beyond perfection. This is incorrectly credited to Phil Ochs when it was actually written by Alfred Hayes and Earl Robinson. Hope that correction can be published.

I agree up to a point. The mighty Paul Robeson did a free-time piano-accompanied version that is also a classic.
