This is awesome. I thought maybe I had the glow plug connector fail, under the valve cover. Maybe this is the issue. I'll give it a try. My truck doesn't want to start on cold days, unless I crank over about 10 times, then I get the big cough of white smoke.
Good video! Any chance you might do an overview of your truck soon? Like everything that has been done and how it’s been performing such as EGTS, boost, etc? Really would like to hear how the truck has been doing since you have done all of your mods!!!!
I'm asking because I mounted this big relay today and put the smaller red wire on the bottom terminal. And the tad bigger small orangish wire I put on the top terminal. I believe I'm wrong because the truck did not want to start at all at 40 degrees..
That denso starter is nice. Went with a legit one after the db electrical knockoff I got on Amazon started to fail around the one year mark….convenient
The orientation of the 2 small reddish wires and the terminals that go on is really important right? Because I saw 2 other videos and I'm positive that the smaller red wire of the 2 went on the bottom lug on the relay after it's mounted and on its side?
Trying hard to find the engine wire harness on both the driver's side to glow plugs and injection pump passenger to alternator and air on an early 1994 Ford f250 7.3 non turbo. Know where to find or is that one of them make your own?
You could have at least let us see how the truck cranked after the install....or was that it trying to fire off at the start of the video?? After the install of the new relay?
@@blowingdiesel can either of of you tell me if it matters what way you mount the relay ?? Like there is no pos/neg side ?? Can it be put in at either orientation??
Yeah so what? My truck has 350,000 miles and with the glow plugs working I can get the thing running and it does just fine and gets almost 20 miles to the gallon. I always hear somebody make some comment like yours. Yeah if I want to rebuild my motor or spend well over $1000 on injectors and possibly new injector cups or many of the other issues that can cause it sure the truck when New and for the first 150 thousand miles should start in 10° weather. The newest 7.3 is now Almost 20 years old. Who do you think your comment is for? Nobody gives a shit with the trucks should do when they're brand new.
Yes this best I've had one on my 7.3 for 10 year's now with no problems with it at all
Awesome! That’s what I’m expecting haha
And I only use ZD11 glow plugs
Yeah that’s what I have in there right now they have been great so far.

Yeah give it a try if not doing the connector and new glow plugs is not that bad
nice video, my '97 has been having problems starting, didn't realize you have to let the glow plugs run after the "wait to start light" goes off
Thanks! And yes I always let them go for at least 30 sec. even more if it’s really cold outside
Starting too soon can mushroom the glow plugs.
Not to mention they only run for up to 8 seconds not 30 they will melt down that long also cycling them more then once will kill them
Good video!

Thank you! And I will work on that video thanks for the idea!
Yep, Heavy Duty as compared to the OEM ones. May as well buy ONE and call it good for the life of the truck!

The ford battery cables are really nice. That with the biggest batteries you can get and the denso 5hp starter will make it spin like an air starter
That would be nice

I got that exact relay and it lasted less than a month, have a Chinese one in there now that has lasted a couple years
Is it me or was your old relay only sending out 10.5 volts? You said it was sending out 12.5 volts.
How are you liking that fuel bowl delete kit?
It’s awesome it’s so much cleaner in there and easier to work around that area
I put one of these on and it died in less than 6 months lol. Went back to the oem relay
Really I guess you always get a bad one every now and then hopefully this one is good
Que pasa si pongo los dos igual ya ordene ese que enseñas pero la troca mia tiene otro por el fender
For your 05 axle. What brake lines did you use to convert over to the obs lines?
On the back I used a conversion fitting and on the front I used 05-07 super duty lines
@@blowingdiesel what piece did you use on the front to get the 05 brake lines to bolt into the obs lines?
Just the lines you gotta use the passenger on the driver side and vice versa
@@blowingdiesel I figured it out, I got the new ones. Almost done with my swap now

So all of that and you never said which Wire goes to which post.
Western Glow Plug Relay (56131K-2) are waaaaaaay better. It will be the last one you ever buy.
I hear they are really good too but this are also supposed to last forever so hoping it does haha

if you need glow plugs to start your 96 to 03 truck anywhere down to 10f then there is something wrong with it.
