    I have answered my own question by installing the A3 S4 Gyro in a recently completed model. I am pleased to report that flapperons do work. I set up my Futaba T7C to connect the second aileron to channel 6 and then programmed the flapperon function to activate on a 2-position switch. I then installed and connected up the Gyro and found that the flapperon function worked in the same way - no problem. Both ailerons droop 45% when the switch is activated and continue to operate differentially with aileron input. Very impressed. Also you can reverse each primary channel in one menu - and then reverse the direction of the gain in another menu. Ideal. Best gyro unit I have come across.

      Great to know cause I want to use the crow function to be used as airbrakes on the ground and I know I have to split out the airlerons so I am glad that this gyro can accommodate two airleron channels

    Hi Matt - very helpful video. Were you able to determine the purpose of that odd green/gold cylinder with a plug on the end? I couldn't find any reference to it in the user manual. Thanks much.

      Thanks for the feedback. Yes I did and will be covering it soon in a new video.
      It’s basically a capacitor that’s designed to handle and short power outages/spikes I believe. Just plug it into any spare gyro port.
      I’m about to put one of these gyros in my 91” Extra NG. I’ll cover connecting it by SBUS, the capacitor and some of the advanced gyro functions. Hopefully recording that next week.

    Question I have 2 aileron servos & 1 elevator . Do I plug in the second 3 plug wire to use aileron & gain and let the elevator wire unconnected?

    U said i need to tell the gyro what type of wing im using, but original, my wing is standard fixed type. But i did some mix, like some elevon or flaperon. Then whah should i do? Will the gyro works when i turn on my mix?

    • @MattTakharRC

      I think it should be fine. To be honest I’ve not tried that yet. I would get it up high tune the gyro on then try the mix 👍🏽

    Hi Matt, Just wondering if this new gyro is suitable for IC aeroplanes?
    I have used a similar gyro (A3 v2) on a nitro plane in the past but had alot of flutter on the ailerons (gains set to about 30%). The plane was fitted with Futaba 3003 analogue servo's. The ailerons were connected via a Y-Lead. No flutter on the other control surfaces.

    • @MattTakharRC
      @MattTakharRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I've not yet tried it on I/C but I do know people who use them in turbines.. I'll be putting one in my 91" Extra (electric) shortly, and will connect everything via S-BUS. Sorry I cant help with your IC question. I would have presumed it would be fine.

    It's only cheating if you're in a competitive event. I love all these functions and use them regardless of what people tell me. I've flown for 25 years and I don't need anyone telling me what to do with my airplanes. I've experimented with several brands of gyros and Hobby Eagle is my favorite. I like Demon but they're too expensive.

      Hi. You will need to look up what protocol your receive uses and see if it is the same as one of the ones that is in the list, it it is just select that one and it should work. If not, the I doubt it will work with your RX
