    Peace is so beautiful.

@emmajayy Yes, it is! Lasting peace can only come on true devotion to right principles and a genuine love of people worldwide. Fear of global suicide from nuclear warfare or the danger of economic collapse is not real peace. That is not the foundation for enduring better times.

you can't have peace when you're starving marginalized and blocked from resources income opportunities victims of police brutality or walled off. Fix that problem first.

For world peace, first, NATO must be destroyed. Then maybe the US can focus all the funds/money in vesting it's own people and infrastructure and do so

It is so sad that back then they had more communication with each other. And what they built was with love and dignity. What gets me is I was a 80s baby and I loved it. About mid or later 90s was great. Anything after that was just different. Where did all the respect go, and the loyalty that ran with reality? Thanks for another exclusive video David Hoffman much appreciated.

Thank you for sharing this facinating and (now historical) footage! To me 16mm home films seem to have a very special "realness" quality to them, and the music you had Ara add to this particular film is an absolute perfect fit. Lord knows we can always appreciate such an all around Great Job from David Hoffman Filmmaker! ✌

It was a new nation, many, if not most, of the people were recent immigrants, it was a time full of hope. That time, unfortunately, is no more.

It would be so surreal for all people to live peacefully and in unity together. If we are looking to the present systems to bring genuinely better times, we are looking to the wrong source. War has been the only means many feel can bring about peace. It is evident that any future new era of peace has to be founded on what it takes to be a lasting peace.

Most clips were shot on Allenby st. and adjacent streets -- Ben Yehuda, King George, HaCarmel. Many places are still identifiable today.
Note that Israel was 90% Jewish at that time -- even the building workers.
Although it looks peaceful, it's still affected by the recent war; the last clips show a lot of debris of what used to be the front line between Tel Aviv and Jaffa.

Sure looks peaceful, I wonder what was going on a couple of years before...
    Oh..
But in all truth no ill will towards anyone is meant by what I said, it would be a great thing is the overwhelming majority of moderate people on both sides of the divide were the ones listened to rather than the will of the zealots and the people who operate behind the scenes.

During this period Israel came under almost weekly attack from fedayeen terrorists out of the Jordanian occupied West Bank and Egyptian occupied Gaza, requiring Israel to respond militarily. It wasn't quite as peaceful as you imagine.

Peaceful for who David? Your whole wrote up proves the Palestinians whole point these are colonizer immigrants on stolen land taken by Europeans. This film is a very specific look from a person's prospective I bet of you asked for a film from this time from the Palestinians prospective you would probably get a different experience.

Didn't last long though did it. There was a two year war just a couple years before this, and a multitude of significant clashes throughout the 50s. The majority of which were Israeli attacks and not for the purpose of defense.

Yaffo(Jaffa) was mixed for centuries Jews and Arabs . the Jews established Tel Aviv in 1909 in order to expand from over populated Jaffa .Jaffa Arabs fought hard in1948 and actually there was a border between Tel Aviv and Yaffo for a time , eventually surrendered and yes the Israelis destroyed most of the houses and evacuated the population of Yaffo . as they deserve no prizes for the ones who started the war and lost (Arabs) all people of Palestine Jews and Arabs were Palestinians before 1948 . so... there is no Palestinians. people really...Fake people Migration of Arabs, Tel Aviv-Yaffo is the official name of Tel-Aviv today !!! under one municipality

    "Yellow Star"
    Donovan 1973
    A-One, two. One, two, three.
There have been bad thing done
There have been some good one
    And many people died
    And many nations cried
    And many babies came
    As many died again
    Yet always Man prevailed
    Yeah though the Devil wailed
You know we're way out there
    In some galaxy hair
    With all this space around
We fight to keep our share.
    With all our cruelty
    And all our jealousy
We find it hard to give
To just live and let live
    To live and let live
It's all in the Dance of Life my friend
It's all in the Song that never ends
It's all in the Dance of Life my friend
    Following that Yellow Star
    Following that Yellow Star
    Following that Yellow Star
    Following that Yellow Star
We think that we're so big
The truth we never, never twig
And if some Quasar gonna blow
I guess we'd never, never know
    And long before that day
    When we are burned away
Let us take time to smile
    And swing a little while
    Just a little while.
There have been many, many words
And just as many, many turds
It's all a kind of dream
And not quite what it seems
    But when the talking's done
This Life of Death we're gonna shun
And turn our heart to Him
    Hailé Sélassié
Whose Light will never, never dim
    Whoa, oh, oh,

It's all in the Song that never ends
