It’s true though that meeting locals is a huge part of experiencing the culture. It probably makes the trip more memorable (and an interesting vlog aswell haha) thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

That pink haired girl from the coffee shop is straight out of a YA romance book. She is the fresh breath of air, non-filtered, witty, manic pixie dream girl that I think we all either aspire to be or aspire to fall in love with. She seems like the carefree, clever, adventurous girl that you love but honestly also can be problematic at time and maybe attracts a lot of tragic situations and has a rough background that gets romanticized a lot in media but in all reality really sucks. Which probably makes her really smart and compassionate at some times, but also angry, and frustrated, and sad. I could be wrong, but I could be right too. She seems like a unique soul. I wanna meet her and know her and find out.

5:56 when they say corn flour, they mean cornstarch. they are also talking about rose water, which you eat with sahleb. lehitraot means "see you again"
I really like this style of video, where we go along with you rather than the 'places to visit' travel videos. I remember going back to Jo's Cuba blogs as we just followed along with her, and it really gave me a sense of what the reality of the country was like and the people. Great jobs guys, we love you! P.S. I'm going to Brussels next month, Damon convinced me!
I rated this video so highly! The editing was beautiful and didn't get sloppy, even though there was more footage to work with. Plus I love seeing you guys head off on your own adventures!
You kept asking people literally: do I speak English? , during the whole video. Dying from the confusion on people’s faces at first seconds when they hear it 😂😂😂
This video makes me jealous beyond words. Soon I'll visit Israel myself. Also I'm excited about the upcoming videos dealing with more of the political stuff. I've been reading tons of stuff about Israel and the development of the conflict with the Palestinians and other surrounding countries like Iran for example. I personally think, the existence of Israel is an invaluable chance for so many people living in the Middle East to escape oppression. Also the historical necessity for a Jewish state to exist is in my opinion unnegotiable. Israel is the only nation on earth that has succeeded to protect Jewish lives from prosecution and death for 70 consecutive years. That alone makes Israel indispensable.
Damon, I love how great you are at seeing the intricacies of a concept and adding nuance into a conversation. Your mention of gentrification is a prime example! Absolutely loving this video and I think this doc style is a great direction for you.
To anyone who was ever curious about Israel, rad articles online and really wants to see Israel for themselves, I truly recommend that you visit our small yet very diverse and unique society. Tel Aviv has its own unique perspective on Israel and I think that anyone who comes to visit needs to see Jerusalem, needs to visit settlements to get familiar with the people, to meet Arab Israelis, meet Christian Israelis and Muslims who serve in the army. Reach out and see Israel. There's so much to see and learn. So much beyond headlines and social media.
I honestly got the impression that both sides grew up being told to dislike the other side, and clearly that breeds nothing but blind hate. I wanted to come to this part of the world to show both sides, and next week I get even more into this!
True, I'm moroccan from meknes and my neighbours are jews and we have no problems, we even share dishes, like kosher food is halal, we have a lot of commun points, I mean we're all humans at the end of the day.
ABSOLUTELY LOVING these mini documentaries of the places you're going :) It made me realized how uninformed I've been about the country and now I'm inspired me to visit and learn more from the locals. This is why I subscribed to this channel
one of the reasons I l-o-v-e this channel is that, as the lady said, tourists come with an objective perspective, knowledge, they see the big picture and explore it - they see it as it really is for themselves and decide whether love it or not. as opposed to the Indigenous people who live in the place and usually know just what is around them and not much more. Toda Raba - תודה רבה for coming here, you brought, at least for me, a different and new aspect in tel-aviv-yafo, thank you and - Le-it-ra-ot - להתראות (literally: goodbye and see you in the next time) Un bon voyage à Jérusalem!

Please read before watching: Some Israelis especially the older ones may look intimidating because of their direct language and brash comments. In Israeli culture, it`s called "Stalbet" To take a piss on someone. We got it from the Brits. So just take it lightly and you`ll be fine.
15 seconds in and I can tell this is gonna be interesting
TO SAY THE LEAST! 🤣
I love the longer format!! A longer video means longer enjoyment!
You met some cool ass people on your trip! Makes me so happy :D
I'm seeing new sides to you Damon. It is a joy to watch. Can't wait for these doc-series next week!
Y’all just opened a can of worms, a pandora box even..
I finished the video and it’s great! And not controversial, AND YES WE ARE LIVING FOR THE LONG VIDEOS
Welcome!
Nah, their audience is better than that.
DamonAndJo I love you guy D&J! ❤️
honey, it's been open for centuries
michael guez tea!
I love this style of video. It's really nice seeing both sides of a conflict from the YOUNG people's point of view.
It's so important to hear their voices!! keep it going!
as someone who is jewish this vlog was absolutely amazing to watch and helped me become even more educated in this topic so THANKYOU
I for one love the longer videos! Always happy for more travel content and I think this format does a good job of showcasing the different sides of a place as opposed to snippets or a single narrative.
Military service is mandatory in Finland too🇫🇮 At first I was annoyed when I received my conscription letter (I live in Canada so it's optional for me, however I can't live in Finland without doing it) but now I just look at it as a reason to shut up and go and also get free tuition. Wish me luck lol
Wow! I didn't know military service is mandatory in Finland. Good luck!
enjoy it! being in the military is an unusual experience and one of the best places to meet new people
Hey so how was your experience? The people want to know!
I love the longer videos! I love how you're exploring controversial places. Stay safe on your travels!
- Just find a girlfriend?
- Yeaaah there's many, it's no problem for you
HAHAHAHAHAHA
XDXDXD
I really love this video! So pleasant, with a lot of beautiful shots. I can’t wait for the next ones!
Y’all my first solo trip is going to be to Paris in August 🥰
yeees girl get that travel
Beware of pickpockets and go off the beaten track ! Don't hesitate to ask me for any advice as I live there but unfortunately won't be there at that time hahaha
damn I dream of going to Paris this summer but I'm kinda scared to travel solo tbh 😣
I absolutely love these longer videos. They help us really get into ALL the aspects of your travels.
loved this vlog! you and Jo have given me so much inspiration to travel the world and not just the tourist spots! thanks for the great content and stay safe traveling!
This is my new favourite video on this chanel. You absolutely killed this Damon, can't wait for the next one!
The people were really charming !
I really enjoyed your long videos in Israel and Palestine. In fact I wish you had made two long videos for each one you made. I've never thought about visiting the middle east, but you made it interesting and accessible in a way I never imagined. More please.
Damon & Jo Documentaries in 2019.... Here for it!
Yes!!! This is the type of content I've been waiting for. So hyped for these longer and more in-depth videos. LOVE YOU GUYS
"The American dream is to get out of America"
So real.
These short docs you make are purely amazing! BRAVO!
This was bomb 🔥
I rated this video so highly! The editing was beautiful and didn't get sloppy, even though there was more footage to work with. Plus I love seeing you guys head off on your own adventures!
I am really impressed by this video, you really are good at what you do Damon!
YES, DAMON, I LOVE THESE LONGER VIDEOS. Yes to the more long and in- depth content.
This was so wonderful!! Can't wait for the next one!
Weren't they saying cornflour?
They did
They probably meant corn starch
I'm here for these longer videos! The interviews and hearing the views of average people is also really nice. Thanks for challenging the status quo!
“You can never express yourself like you can in your native language” 🤯👌🏻
Lol you celebrating New Years on your own is a whole MOOD
Toujours quand j'ai regardé leur vidéo, je me demande s'ils connaissent un pays comme le Ghana.
Un jour!!!
@@DamonAndJo OMG d'accord!
Absolutely loving this video and I think this doc style is a great direction for you.
everyone was stoned af at the malabiya lol
חחחחח
To anyone who was ever curious about Israel, rad articles online and really wants to see Israel for themselves, I truly recommend that you visit our small yet very diverse and unique society. Tel Aviv has its own unique perspective on Israel and I think that anyone who comes to visit needs to see Jerusalem, needs to visit settlements to get familiar with the people, to meet Arab Israelis, meet Christian Israelis and Muslims who serve in the army. Reach out and see Israel. There's so much to see and learn. So much beyond headlines and social media.
As an Arab. We always told to dislike Jews but the thing is...I'm Moroccan and we have a lot of Jews in here and we get a long 😂
I honestly got the impression that both sides grew up being told to dislike the other side, and clearly that breeds nothing but blind hate. I wanted to come to this part of the world to show both sides, and next week I get even more into this!
@@DamonAndJo true. But both sides has come Along way! W lot of them want nothing but peace and to live together side by side
That's awesome. I hope there are more people like you
Hellooo fellow moroccan. also Gotta agree with u !!✌✌
I literally screamed when I saw this
Me too😂
we loveeee these longer videos... wow you snapped!
lol at the brazilian saying come to brazil ahahah
the only thing in english they are able to say.....it has become a mantra...come to brazil...like the book is on the table....
HUEHUEHUE

Yes, I am loving this new format. PLEASE keep this stuff going
I had no idea Israel was so cool!
You still have no idea
Come come eat Hummus with me
Israel is the bestttt
Yeah a country that kills its people is so cool wow.
@@rses916 Where r u from ?
one of the reasons I l-o-v-e this channel is that, as the lady said, tourists come with an objective perspective, knowledge, they see the big picture and explore it - they see it as it really is for themselves and decide whether love it or not. as opposed to the Indigenous people who live in the place and usually know just what is around them and not much more. Toda Raba - תודה רבה for coming here, you brought, at least for me, a different and new aspect in tel-aviv-yafo, thank you and - Le-it-ra-ot - להתראות (literally: goodbye and see you in the next time) Un bon voyage à Jérusalem!
Omg when i travel alone people wanna talk but i am so awkward i just run away hahahaha
i really liked this, thank you for not brushing past the conflict and at least addressing it.
