A hand made gift suggestion - I came across a raspberry cordial recipe on Pinterest and gave a bottle of that to people a few years back. It worked beautifully with soda, but also as a dessert jus or topping. I found a recipe for coffee syrup, too, that I think would work nicely for the coffee addicts in your life. Other gifts I’ve given have been small Christmas decorations - I made some with a combination of white glue and corn starch, rolled out and cut with round cookie cutters, and then I pressed rosemary leaves in such a way that the impressions look like reindeer antlers. I loved them.
I adore the stockings!! I also had a large stocking like this growing up and it would lie stuffed with bigger gifts under the tree🎄Love that you’ve created a pattern to keep this small tradition going and make it more special being a handknit☺️🤍

Congratulations to your parents on celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. My hubby and I celebrated our 50th anniversary as well this year. Your stockings look lovely and well done on releasing them as a pattern. Thank you for another lovely episode.
I give home made simmering potpourri. One lemon, one orange, cinnamon sticks, cloves, a bay leaf. Sometimes I add a small spring of Rosemary and cranberries. Put all in a crinkly bag, tied with pretty ribbon. Instructions to add water, simmer, put in fridge when not in use, add additional fruit as time goes by and it will generally last for about a month.
Love the stocking patterns coming soon! I made strawberry freeze jam during the strawberry season. I will be giving this along with homemade granola. I have been making homemade chocolate sauce for a few years and people expect it now. It stays fresh in the frig for about a year also. Can be heated up in the microwave and served over ice cream. Especially good over the holiday peppermint stick ice cream. If desperate it is great eaten right out of the jar with a spoon. 😜
Wow! I am so in tune with you. I am also trying to get myself to pick up and Finish a vest I am working on for my dad. I finished the front, but I have procrastinated greatly on finishing the back. I have also decided not to knit gifts for Christmas this year. I hope to knit a cardigan for myself. I just want to eliminate the stress that comes with the season. I will not have any guilt about my stash, however. I just love being able to dive into my stash when inspiration hits. Thank you for all the inspiration! Congratulations on your first pattern!
Thanks for creating this enjoyable episode, your stocking patterns are great. I often gift a container of homemade granola - I use a recipe from a Smitten Kitchen cookbook. Not much advance planning or time is needed to bake up a double batch so its a good last- minute thing. Waving hello from 🇨🇦
I know I am late to the party. My Christmas tree is loaded with my hand made ornaments. I use Styrofoam balls and decorate them with ribbons, beads, sequins, fabric roses, buttons and found objects. I got the idea from VICTORIA magazine years ago and enjoy making them even now. Blessings for your holiday.makings. Nancy D.
Nikol!!!!! I was so excited to see that you posted a video! As far as gift “making”, I tend to crochet for people because I can crochet so much faster than knitting! My go to crochet gifts now are Cotton wash cloths, dish cloths and hot water bottle covers (with the hot water bottles). I usually use Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton because it’s so soft. I have been reading a ton, Kate Wilhelm, Lisa Jewell and Fiona Davis mostly. I reread Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca which was fun. So glad to see you, Nikol. Take care. 🌸🌼🌻
The stockings are perfect! I would love to knit them for my kids. I will have to start working on them for next year, though, because I don't think I can get 5 of them done by Christmas. 😅
Fantastic video! I am new to your channel and I have really enjoyed watching your creation. I have a non-knitting related question. Your hair colour is absolutely beautiful. What hair colour, if any, do you use?
Remarkably Bright Creatures is one of my all time favorite audiobooks! The narrator for Marcellus was fantastic ❤ and made the listen so enjoyable. Glad you liked it too. Reading some Ian Moore books now - hysterically funny British Humor murder mysteries - protagonists are Richard Ainsworth and Valérie d’Orçay. Happy reading!!
Oh my gosh! Those stockings from your childhood! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks, Amber!❤️ I feel like I’m carrying on her legacy. 🥰
