    8:00 Actually it has nothing to do with how lightweight the firing pin/striker is in the P365, and if the trigger does move rearward, it *will* fire the gun just like it's been pulled by a finger. This was the reason P320 had the big drop fire fiasco. In P365, striker is fully cocked, and the sear only moves up and down to release the striker. It doesn't cock it at all unlike the Glock. So it's 100% single action like a 1911. Without the 1911's manual and grip safeties, It relies on longer trigger travel as its safety mechanism. When trigger starts moving, it's already game over to me. That's why I chose the manual safety version of P365 :)

    • @rileyneufeld7001
      @rileyneufeld7001 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's kind of unnerving that they rely on the long pull to prevent a Negligent discharge... ESPECIALLY when everyone is upgrading the trigger to where there is no take-up and a light pull weight.

    • @mtnbound2764
      @mtnbound2764 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i also choose a manual safety p365. it just makes me feel better and if that makes me carry it more often then thats what matters. as long as you train with it its a non issue.

  • @franke102
    @franke102 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You forgot about the secondary safety on the Hellcat. There's an internal blocking device in the slide that separates the path of the pin and the bullet primer. The blocking device raises up once you physically depress the trigger.

    This is a really great and very audible review of two popular Concealed Carry Pistols. Very educational. I have an HS-9 (though not related to this review) and it is also a great pistol. The thing is just that the stiffness of the recoil springs (psi of the slide when you slide it back) of any pistol being reviewed seems to be over-looked. May not be important to some users, but for women, it is. They always need pistols with softer recoil springs so that they can easily rock the slide.

    • @planofman8599
      @planofman8599 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Hellcat has very stiff springs, compared to other micro 9's. It's why it's so snappy. On the other hand, it's why it can also run 10k rounds of +P, and 20k rounds of regular 9mm, and digest just about any ammo. If a person needs a soft slide, the Shield EZ is there for them.

      Honestly I've seen these and they looked interesting but I kind of decided that my shield was good enough. I've got magguts followers to get about the same capacity in exchange for a bit more height and a bit less thickness with the longer mags. I don't like the dangly pinky effect so i haven't gotten used to the flush mags and I'm in a restricted state so neither of these new guns actually give me more capacity. Would be nice to see thin double stacks but I'd be more interested if they changed the shapes of the guns instead and gave us a better undercut so we could get a full grip with less grip length.

    Yes indeed. How many bullets does one need. As a LEO it would make sense as a backup when the primary fails. For off duty LEOs it would make sense if they had to back up on duty cops or be the primary first responder on a situation where they have no choice but to act. For civilians 13 rounds plus is convenient because no extra mag needs to be carried. But dealing with the weight of the extra rounds which is two normal magazines with other compact pistols could be a deal breaker depending on individual preference and application

    I held a new Hellcat yesterday. I didn’t buy it as it relies on the magazine for my pinky. I’ve never liked this. It was one of the reasons I sold the P365 to be able to get the P365XL. I also gave my Glock 43 to my daughter as she has tiny hands, and got the new Glock 43X. I passed on the Glock 48 as I already have a Glock 19 and didn’t want a skinny one, lol. But the P365XL and G43X are comparable and I liked them both, so I bought both of them. I’ve seen the tests done on the Hellcat and I know it’s great and reliable and I know the P365 is too because I owned on. But I just don’t like relying on a magazine for my pinky. Matter of fact, that’s the same reason I sold my Kimber Solo years back. Thanks for the video though!

My reasons: first of all, the trigger on the SIG is way more pleasant; while the hellcat wants a real push, the SIG goes smooth, what gives (at least for me) higher accuracy; especially shooting at 20 or 25 yards. I also have a preference for the sights on the P365 (again in regards of accuracy). Last but not least, the haptic of the SIG is great, at least as far as I as a women with small hands, may consider it. (this is a very personal point of view, and I do not consider it as a disregard for the Hellcat, which is almost a Siamese brother to SIG)

    Grip angle? Being a Glock guy, I'm use to their more common grip angle. The first thing I noticed when picking up the 365 was the more 1911 style grip angle, so when I quickly sighted the gun, my sight picture was a little off. Nothing that can't altered with training and learning new muscle memory, but something I personally didn't care for as I'd like to keep this consistent with my carry guns.
    BTW, living in a ridiculous lefty state (CT), I'm legally limited to 10 rounds or less, so I generally will not purchase carry guns that were designed for >10 rounds since I am generally paying for wasted space and capacity in the neutered version I will get. For this reason I'm hoping this new gun will be offered in a 10 round .357 Sig or .40 S&W to utilize the mag area I would otherwise have lost in the 9mm version of this hellcat... Probably wishful thinking on my part!

    Excellent video sir,my advice.no matter if ur a pro or just getting into shooting.compare until u find the weapon u like and feel comfortable with.u can base it on looks,price and manufacture.at the end of the day,pick what works for u.with today’s technology and CNC machines,most weapons are created fairly equal.just because one brand doesn’t work for u,doesn’t warrant a bad review.experienced shooters could take a weapon from the top 5 players and we could make it work.whatever u choose,marry that weapon,make it ur new best friend.shoot as often as u can afford.take care of it,and it will take care of u.a saying that I live by,be wary of that man that owns only one handgun👍

    Nice tutorial/video, I have all three Sig P365's, and the new Springfield Armory Hellcat, and I have to say they are all fantastic EDC guns, reliable completely accurate and easy to carry, the extra magazines are small enough I can carry one as an extra sideways on my belt in an elastic mag. carrier and never know it was there, the Sig has 10,12, and 15 round mags, the Hellcat 11 and 13, I never feel under gunned with any of these guns, again thanks for doing this video on these models...

    Although it a subcompact like the Glock 26, rather than a microcompact, I would have liked to have seen how the Springfield XDs 3.3" sizes up next to the Hellcat. I have fired both of these two guns side by side. If I were blindfolded I would not have been able to tell the difference.
    In use, the HC sights are easier to acquire. The 365 was a bet more accurate but not until 50 ft.
    The HC will no doubt be the better value because Springfield will likely put together a nice package.

Bought the LC9 right before the LC9s came out. Then bought the LC9s right before the SIG365 came out. Now the only reason I haven't bought the 365 is that money is a little tight this summer. Makes me wonder what is going to come out when I get the Hellcat?

If I could mix the profile of my LC9s with the trigger pull and capacity of my XD Sub Compact I would take it. But everything is a trade off, though either one of these options looks like they fulfill my needs. Excellent and detailed comparison and overview! Clearly you know your firearms and I appreciate your bringing out the Glock 26 and 43x. A couple things I took away - first, the Sig comes with true night sight capable sights (3-dot) vs. the Hellcat. Second, the Sig has a fiber optic front sight insert that picks up sunlight, and third, that Hellcat rear sight is (to me) pretty funky. However, optics ready on the OSP model is interesting. Next, US made vs. non-US made. Third, interesting to see the size difference between the Hellcat and the P365 - although not much, for pocket or ankle carry, the P365 is exceptional and I wonder if that extra bit makes a difference. I loved the P365 so much I own two "gen 2" models - one configured for pocket carry and one with the extra capacity mags for IWB. I carry them both quite a bit in that configuration, and I carry the pocket gun even at home (why not, it's tiny). I've run the P365 through USPSA type speed drills (th-cam.com/video/jt0iAubdvvM/w-d-xo.html&t) and it is extremely manageable. Last thing I noted - your comparisons really did highlight (to me) that Glock really has lost in all of this... The G26 used to be my go-to for deep double stack concealment and I carried a Kahr CM9 for ankle/pocket. The Sig P365 has easily replaced them all. I'm not a fan of Springfield, though I love my TRP. I've had a few problems with my Saint Edge MSR - so my vote goes w/the Sig P365. THANK YOU for a great review!!!

      I decided to dress up my glock 26 (night sights) and a new owb holster (bravo concealment) for about 1/3rd the price. Also picked up an extra 17 Rd spare mag with x-grips for the 15 and 17 mags. Only thing that would excite me is the osp ready...
