Damn, if I had a Corsair Id be able to do so many absolutely legal things with my friends, the police would probably give all of us new rooms for free out of admiration. Amazing ship.
I had an architecture student friend over for drinks, years ago. I was building a room and said casually "I might put a balcony on the end, to get the morning sun ... do you think that would look cool?" He responded by saying that an architect should never give free advice and that I would have to pay him for his professional opinion. He was a first year, second semester student. I said nothing, but I didn't invite him over for drinks again. Years later, I was working as a mechanic and he asked me about an issue with his car ... I gave him my honest opinions and even helped him to fix it. That's because I'm not a sanctimonious jerk (present post excepted).
Honestly, the Corsair seems like the perfect vessel to live a nomadic lifestyle with a small crew. That’s what I would do with it. It’s got to be one of the most versatile ships CIG has brought to the table and it’s rough/lived-in aesthetic really serves to charm and bewilder someone who enters the ship for the first time. Flooding their imagination with curiosity about the wonders the vessel had endured.

ship gives out such a star wars vibes and that's probably what attracted me to the ship in the beginning! I think exploring with the ship with friends would be amazing. Enough weapons to keep everyone engaged and if anyone needs to go afk real quick they have their own room to hide in!
The idea of a Corsair as a hero ship in a firefly-esqe show really sticks with me. I can totally see a scrappy misfit crew having character moments in the mess hall, an engineer rushing around the octagonal engineering space to keep the engines running, the pilot seat with room for the crew to look over the pilot’s shoulder, and a cargo bay big enough for whatever plot device they can cram in there.

The Chance Vaught F4U Corsair was a beast of a WW2 fighter plane, primarily used in the Pacific theater. It was often aircraft carrier deployed, and as such had fold-up wings. It looked deadly standing still, and I believe the "aura" of the fold wing F4U informed the design of this deadly spacecraft 😎
This feels like the perfect exploration ship to me. I just wanna take it out into the verse with my friends and see where it’ll take us. Awesome video!
Out of all ships I’ve been on nothing has felt as homely and for want of a better term ‘realistic’ (or even believable) than the Corsair. I could really see long journeys and exploration being carried out in one of these creating some epic shared crew adventures
I'd love to have a crew with this ship and just live in it. One of the best designs by CIG you can tell they are getting better and better at designing new ships
I would just be so hyped to finally own a corsair. A while ago I was flying one and discovered the whole interior on my own and i just love how many detail there is, it kinda felt like home. Flying this beauty with 3 friends will be a blast
I never thought that I'd love this ship as much as i do. I don't see too many ships that give insane roleplay opportunities and I feel like the Corsair is it. It's perfection
It makes me think of the Twilight from Star Wars, in which Anakin and Ahsoka used to fly in the first seasons. Really a dutiful ship for all kinds of space adventures!
So awesome an asset from one company makes you think of something from another company instead of being original and unique from the first comapny. So glad we're all backing a game that copies everyone else.
Thanks again for taking the time to produce this! Corsair may be where I migrate from the Valk, a mobile base for my infantry squad when we're trying to get past air threats to deploy a vehicle on the ground. Love the design language
The asymmetry is everything to me, this ship sparks the beginning of non-standard or non-formulaic design. I'm highly excited to see what CIG can come up with in this direction. Personally this ship would be my 'solo Carrack', not too big to land anywhere, not too small to feel constricted. I especially love that the ship feels lived in ❤️
I absolutely love this ship. IMO, with the metallic paint, the design language, the back story, and the top exit, this is actually the closest you can get to a millenium falcon in the SC universe.
The Corsair is truly an iconic vessel. Personally, I love Drake's aesthetic because of the "no-frills" design. Like you said, it looks "put together" and I love it. I'm super happy to have one of these, and between this and a Caterpillar, I feel there's nothing I can't do out in the verse.
Me and my girlfriend have a huge passion for space games. Something about the two of us travelling through space and getting into all kinds of trouble together is always so appealing to both of us. This ship is like the perfect space home. The design is awesome, the size is awesome. I love everything about the ship. Great review!
For me, the Corsair seems like a perfect vessel for just sailing the stars and giving you the feeling of being able to jump into whatever you want to do the second it comes to you mind. Want to go cross system? Well you can put an xl1 in it and you're practically there already. Want to blow something up? Well boy does it have that covered, honestly what do I even need to say here. This ship just feels like it can do anything to me, while carrying that amazing drake aesthetic, and I love that soft yellow lighting. I really hope I get a chance soon to take this out with a buddy or two or even solo, it really seems like an amazing ship worthy of it's amazing name. Usually I don't participate in these giveaways cause I know the odds of a random chance, but boy I could write for hours to just have a chance at the thing lol
I usually don't enjoy asymmetrical designs but this one is something else. It's spectacular and just like I unexpectedly like it I would love to do things unexpected for this ship - all the good things ;) Though it is clearly something of 'I solely swear I'm up to no good' sort.
This ship is uniquely beautiful and I hope more like it come out, I want to see how long I can drag the lower wing across the dunes of Daymar before I explode
I have a friend who have this ship already and we had a group of 3 players doing basic missions and explaning more advanced stuff and i gotta say it really feels like it's a ship that can tackle all kind of missions and with room for everyone it really felt like we lived in it when we were quantam traveling. My favourite is when we located a crashed ship and discovered a real player body hidden among the reck in the mission and we too everyone and everthing in the bay of our ship and contacted global incase that person was still in the server. This ship and the starrunner are both hero-like story ships you usually get in sci fi shows. Love it.
As an interior designer and an obsessed person with 3d modeling in rhino/grasshopper,i can safely say the corsair is the most refined ship i've seen by CIG so far!also there's something special about this specific model,in my opinion true luxury comes from a well thought and efficient layout that understands and compliments the clients needs, not only by throwing together high end materials and call it a day(am looking at you 600i)
I'm a new player and I gotta say this is my fav ship in the game. I've currently got the little cutter which I adore, but if I had a corsair I would do everything I can't do in the cutter! I'd be especially excited for the multicrew aspect, becuase I don't have a ship that can do that. Your coverage of the ship was very enjoyable, and has made me even more hyped to pilot it.
During freeflight a random guy from chat invited me to fly together in his Corsair. He showed me that Star Citizen isn't a buggy mess that laughing about is cool, but a really fun game at times. So if I had a Corsair I would gather courage to talk to people and show them the real Star Citizen, a game like no other for all the reasons.
Wow this ship design is fantastic! I appreciated your narrative design discussion. If I had a Corsair I’d definitely make most of that cargo space to make sure people could get their “special” deliveries on time without needless red tape or import fees. It seems like a great ship to “fly casual” in!
AHHHHHHH YOUR VIDEO QUALITY IS COMPLETELY INSANE!!! It really shows that you are putting down a lot of work into these videos and I want to thank you for that. If I had a corsair I would probably go explore as much as possible with my friends, And I would not be doing that many legal things haha...
As much as it would be fun to pirate in this thing, I think it also has a lot of potential as a temporary operating base on the ground. The fact that it’s highly defendable when landed means you could occupy a position and hold it for some time… Lots of potential, and lots to think about! Fantastic video as always!
I see myself being violently ejected from the Stanton-Pyro wormhole and lost for eternity in persistence in a Corsair. I also see myself moving the wings up and down because _look at the animations_ edit: Much love, Morphologis
Love the videos Morphologis I love hearing the passion you have for the details, one of my favourite details is the slight bounce the big wings have when they unfold due to the mass x inertia on the corsair almost as if you raising the sail and that first gust of wind its it. I would love to use the corsair to explore and take scenic shots but until they add that feature I would plan on using it to capture my bounty's dead until we can take em alive mwahaha.
Glad I'm not the only one who appreciated the wobble. It gives the ship a sense of presence you don't often see in video games. Also very appropriate for a Drake design, where "good enough" is good enough.
I do like how Drake ships don't shy away from this industrial feel for them. It definatly feels like a ship to go out and sail the high seas. Can sure imaginve exploring in this ship and after some time going to the roof of it to have a smoke break.
I’ve purchased and refunded many ships in this game as they always felt like something was missing but this one is definitely a keeper. It feels amazing to fly out for a search and rescue, put my helmet on, run to the armory.. grab my rifle and pistol.. open the rear door.. turn on the flood lights to help illuminate the dark, cold and unforgiving environment I’m about to explore. Love this ship.
Personally this ship would be my daily driver and used for pretty much anything and everything. i got the chance to fly in one and felt the Mandalorian. The way this ship feels like it's been used before and doesnt have that "fresh off the showroom" feel after youve run missions in it makes it feel like "your ship" and not ust some ship in a game and i love that myself!
Awesome review Morphologis. What I would do with the Drake?! Well I would use it as a jack of all trade for exploration. But one thing I would do for sure -> dry my hair with the fan spinning by the pilot seat.
Gull wings (on the corsair) were also inspired by the Vaught Corsair's design. Which was a famous naval fighter plane of WW2. Edit: If I had this ship, I would use it to explore the cargo holds of other ships...
The ship looks amazing. Being able to bring friends along when running missions while still extremely capable solo. It's one of the best all around ships out there.
Lacking of speed and therefore easily gankable. For now SC in a developing state with vanilla players, but when it becomes widespread, there will be ton of gankers groups with Mantis and ships like Corsair will be easy target for them
@@danyagamingone explain pls, the same can be said for the Constellation, Hercules and Carack. So what's your point, you're not expressing yourself, well.
@@timsgta 400i for example 😉 why you mention only slow and easy targets like corsair? Mercury Star Runner also very safe ship, unless it get caught standing still. Both ships I mentioned have high speed ( >1200 m/s) and therefore, cant be caught easily
@@danyagamingone I only mentioned slow and easy targets like the Corsair because YOU mentioned the corsair, your first sentence literally referred to the Corsair slow speed, ffs bro keep up with the conversation. There was no need to mention the 400i and MSR bc they can outrun a lot of gankers. I obviously mentioned the ones I did bc they are slow like the Corsair and thus easier targets for gankers with faster ships, like you said. I honestly have no idea where the context of what you said and my reply lost you.
@@danyagamingone and now you're changing your tune, you were talking about corsair and the lack of speed, now you change to fast ships when my reply to you was about slow ships, you are confusing af!
The design of this ship has always been one of my favorites. My group and I have always kept an eye on it but haven't decided if it was worth it yet. Maybe it's time to have a serious conversation with them and just get it!
As a corsair owner myself, I'd say go for it if you like it! Its a very versatile ship even with the poor atmo handling. Heard its improved in 3.18 tho
There is a light switch for the kitchen area, it's actually the one near the door to the head and when it worked (3.22) it lights up the kitchen pretty well. The lights for the head are found in that room. Awesome ship!
In terms of what I'd do with this beauty- I'd simply take it out to the fringe; live on the edge of civilization. Everything about it just appears to make it beg to be taken out on a spontaneous journey deep into the black with no idea of when or if you'll be coming back home, because well- it IS your home. Every part of this beautiful machine's design just screams 'the spirit of adventure', and I adore that. The classical naval influences blended into Drake's signature ruggedness just speaks to the soul and I love everything about it.
I really like that this is one of the few ships that lets you step onto the actual ships plating, I wish more ships had this sort of access. As for what I'd do with it, grand space adventures with friends, of course, that's more likely to be space shenanigans and people die-ing in hilarious ways.
Fairly new to star citizen with a few friends that have been helping me along this new little adventure. One of my friends has told me time and again that his favorite ship is the corsair, and when we had more crew, we planned to use it as our primary ship. As a newer player, I have little experience as to what I would do with a ship like this (except maybe piracy) but I know my friends certainly would. Much love for the videos, they definitely help a newbie pilot finding what ship to find as his main vessel.
this is just my personal opinion, and i respect that people like the corsair. Personally, i think its fugly. looks terrible and a little nonsensical. Still a cool ship tho
CIG are really starting to get it done with these ship designs/implementations. With each of these new releases the game gets stepped up and half of the systems aren't even in yet. A fave for sure, can't wait to get one.
I thought the SAME thing about the Mantis in Falling Order! I do hope they fix the issues with the lights. (I'd think the mess hall area should have plenty of light, like the Caterpillar's area (which I hope will eventually get a light switch for switching when the crew is sleeping or eating). I like the ship. I like the aesthetics of Drake ships, both in and out.
Man, alive this ship is gorgeous. I used to want the Star Runner for my interstellar diasporas, but I think Corsair has taken the cake. From the super analog/rustic interior to the asymmetrical exterior to the gimmicky co-pilots seat. It has everything I love, and it's definitely a ship I could see myself and my mates enjoying as we cruise the systems, looking for "work." 10/10 video Morph! Well done.
I bought one of these in game when 3.19 dropped. Happy to see that the flight model is much better than people described and also the light switches seem to all be working now. I liked it so much that I made it the only ship (other than my starter) that I’ve pledged for. The Corsair just feels special, whether it’s the mechanical switches and levers or just the unique design it’s my new favourite.
> Stick a hammock in the engineering bay and an air mattress in the cargo hold. That covers your marine and your grease monkey! > If it were my call, I'd make it so that different guns can be wired to different control stations. That way the main pilot chair can focus more on flight (with a couple of shooters) while the lower deck controls ALL of the pyrotechnics. That way the control layout could be tailored to suit the crew's preferences.
Love your videos since the beginning Morph. If I had a Corsair, I would mostly sit in my private room, giggling with glee that my imaginary crewmates also have their own private rooms. Best design feature in any SC ship.
If I could pilot the Corsair it would be named "Perrier". I would absolutely recruit my friends to gun for me to silently stalk and deny salvagers from value locations until we are forced out of the area.
Came to say I enjoyed the video and always look for yours first when I really want the best tour of whatever ship I'm interested in. Giveaway or no giveaway, I really enjoy the content! Cheers!
I've been trying to get my buddies to play SC with me, and they hopped on and crewed the Corsair with me during the IAE freefly. It was a blast! I love the idea of using this ship as a home base for mission running with a crew... and if spontaneous cargo checks need to happen, hey, we'll be ready for the job!
I got the chance to fly a corsair during the expo, and I really loved it, despite not being experienced yet at the time, it felt very natural to fly. I absolutely love the asymmetry of the wings, it's very star-wars like. Another plus is that this ship feels like the big big brother of my trusty cutter, so it'll feel like a very reliable and familiar ship. I'm not really a piracy guy, so I'd probably be using it to help people out; Escorts, assistance, and such. I think the corsair would be perfect for that. In any case, I love your videos man, keep it up!
Your 1 of 2 SC creators who I actively go to when a ship drops or changes happen to get your thoughts & pov! Been loving the content & its always pulling me back for more!
I love this ship. I usually don’t like asymmetric designs but this one just kinda works. Seems like a great „hang out with friends and only perform legal acts to acquire money“ kinda ship. That’s what I wanna do.
I really love asymmetrical ship in all sci-fi genre multimedia, and having one in Star Citizen is a must. From cruising through Stanton (and future Pyro) to make hard multi crew session with friends doing cargo, or maybe merc mission, this ship would be awesome.
I can see myself exploring and hauling cargo with my Corsair. Thank you for all of your informative videos. Helps keep me up to date with Star Citizen. Much appreciated keep up the great videos.
The thing I like about the Corsair is it feels like a living ship. As you pointed out, the cable management in the engineering bay is horrendous, but I doubt spacers would bee too concerned if they were trying to patch a short on the fly (literally). The scattered MFDs in the cockpit, the nettings in the crew cabins, even that weird little thing on the shower sink all feel like human touches, like this ship has been through it long before it came to you, and that you are just the next chapter in its storied life. In a weird way, that kind of plays into the subconscious sailing theme, too.
Id love to get a Corsair to start gaming StarCitizen :) I just wanne get started, cant decide which package to go with and am looking up some different ships. This ship really has some cool looking iconic design, so i could really see me in the verse with this :)
The Corsair is a beautiful ship. From the sound design of the doors and engines, to the lighting and textures. I love it every time I board one. It feels like coming home. That is my goal at this point. I want to live on this ship. Whether it is mission running, trade, or the highly anticipated exploration gameplay. This is the ship I want to do it with.
I love the ruggedness of the Drake ships. Just built for a purpose, and that purpose is never comfort. lol. I started as an Architecture student years ago and your channel brings back memories of those classes.
I'm a new player, and I'm loving the feel of the Drake ships. They have a rustic, Star Wars type grittiness to them that's super nostalgic. My pals and I would do so many 'legal' activities with it. Trust.
Love the vids man, recently started playing and really enjoy you picking the ships apart even more than I do! Was honestly debating doing architecture but went into biomed! Keep up the great work!
I had the opportunity to try the Corsair out. I think its an incredible ship. I agree with you that there are some lighting issues and that bunks would be an improvement. The space is available to accommodate a higher crew count, which would make this a much more versatile platform for all kinds of activities. Thanks for the review. I like your videos.
Changing one of the beds for a double bed (for the gunners) and making this a 5 crew ship seems the best way to go. Captain, co-pilot and engineer with a room, turrent gunners with the bunkbed. Still love this ship.
Bought this thing in Pu. Kind of nice. One little drawback I noticed was that when I went to close one of the closets before logging out my character suddenly moved to.....fuse...with one of the closet doors. I could open and close the closet but I couldn't unbecome what I had become. I went into 3rd closet mode and could see my flashlight shining from my new personage. Still. Fun ship when compared with the Andromeda.
If it had symmetrical wings, it’d either look like a huge X-wing (duh) or a small Klingon Bird-of-Prey depending on which wing is copied over. I think that’s a major reason I’m in love with this design. The ship lends itself to really any form of common gameplay imo. Thinking of just living and working within this ship, especially with a small team of good friends, makes me daydream of just conquering the galaxy, the same way you would in Sea of Thieves.
oh men you are the main SC content creator i watch and the only one i actively show to my friends, to analyse the ships designs with an architectural point of view it's so refreshing, i belive this ship it's and awsome example and indicator of what the game has learned after all these years, their designs evolving and getting so complex over the time, i'll absolutely PvE the hell of this ship and do some legal cargo claims with my friends, if you catch my meaning, fantastic video as always and pardon all and any mistake i made, english isn't my mother tongue
I wish more ships had physical cabinets and drawers, like you get in the habs. I like to put my food bars and water bottles in cabinets or fridges, and some ships like the 300i and the Spirit have those things.
The Corsair is an amazing ship. If I were chosen, I would use this ship to be able to play with my friends. We all play SC, but it's rare that we all can get into the same ship. The more I see the ship, the closer to my heart it becomes. This ship really hits a note with me, reminding me of the Serenity. I honestly imagine my friends and I cruising around the verse', taking jobs and finding our own way in the black.
I bought one just after Christmas, having said since I got the game I'd never spend more than £100 on a ship. It just rented a space in my head until I couldn't ignore it any more. No, it's not perfect and I can't fight in it - I'm not a good fighter anyway and it turns like me after an all-you-can-eat buffet. But I just love it, and it's made me realise that Drake are probably my favourite manufacturer in the game
As always, great video @Morphologis I've always loved the barebone look of Drake and I would love to use the Corsair as a daily driver for exploring new wrecks and locations in the Pyro system and beyond. I love the fact that it has usable space in the cargo hold without having a massive footprint. It can take a punch or 2 and definitely deal them too.
This ship looks amazing! Honestly I just want to explore the world of star citizen with this thing. Watching your videos is the closest I get to playing the game. Keep it up!
I just got into the game with a couple of friends coming from Eve. This game does what I've always wanted, and has fully functional interior space for the vehicles. As a mechanic in real life, I really appreciate the workings of things and can imagine cussing out a Corsair because some rusted bolt is stuck The only image of the 400i on the RSI website conveys everything I want and hope for this game and that is to explore a beautiful universe with my friends.
What comes to mind is cobbling together a crew to fly around and doing the most insane stuff before I eventually crash while trying to land somewhere. I agree the Corsair has a distinct similarity with the Mantis and while the interior is lacking it sort of reminds me of (a little) cleaner version of the ship in The Matrix.
The interior design reminds me of the millennium falcon, as well as the Nebuchadnezzar from the Matrix. Super cool ship, super cool review, and super cool channel!
Damn, if I had a Corsair Id be able to do so many absolutely legal things with my friends, the police would probably give all of us new rooms for free out of admiration. Amazing ship.

Absolutely the best ship for exploring!

I would fly the corsair through the air with lots if flair to my pirate lair... follow if you dare. *facepalm*

In case anyone doesn’t know, the lighting has been fixed. The ship has light switches now and the inside looks amazing

Your coverage of the ship was very enjoyable, and has made me even more hyped to pilot it.
what specs u got? I see a lot of people say they run this game on 60fps at most even with a beefy computer.
I also see myself moving the wings up and down because _look at the animations_
edit: Much love, Morphologis
I keep rewatching these vids, you nail the vibe in your videos. And that cinematography is great.
It sure surprised me how neat this ship is. inside and out. Never gave it much thought before.
I have been hyped for this review for a long time, cant wait to watch it
Awesome ship! It reminds me a bit of the the Star Wars B-Wing starfighter, and the Mantis like he described in Jedi Fallen Order.
there is also the Old Republic Trouper Ship that has the same moving wings on the left side
Gull wings. And they were around before Vaught did them.
@Demonic Squid I heard a dev say on a video it was inspired by the plane, not that it was the first or not. I have clarified above just for you.
YES YES YES YES
FINALLY
Exactly my reaction 😂
I would love to explore this beautiful universe with my friends in this ship. It looks amazing and would give our crew lotts of new opportunitys.
Love your videos since the beginning Morph.
If I had a Corsair, I would mostly sit in my private room, giggling with glee that my imaginary crewmates also have their own private rooms. Best design feature in any SC ship.
I loved the cinematic route you took with this! Really sold the theme of the video.
For reference there are lights on the door panel just during that patch it was bugged out and works now.
If I could pilot the Corsair it would be named "Perrier". I would absolutely recruit my friends to gun for me to silently stalk and deny salvagers from value locations until we are forced out of the area.
I love the lift going to the top like a ladder towards the top of a sail boat for a panoramic view. Pretty neat.
Love the ship. It’s slight imperfections are what make it just that much cooler to me.
Idk if it’s intentional or not but your ship reviews feel like a car and driver segment and I love it!
I would lure my unsuspecting friends into the star citizen rabbit hole
Your 1 of 2 SC creators who I actively go to when a ship drops or changes happen to get your thoughts & pov! Been loving the content & its always pulling me back for more!
I love this ship. I usually don’t like asymmetric designs but this one just kinda works. Seems like a great „hang out with friends and only perform legal acts to acquire money“ kinda ship. That’s what I wanna do.
I finished my Architecture studies 2 years ago and I can say: LOVE this kind of content!
I think the bets way to go is prob cutter or avengers than cutless black and than any ship. U really want
I find it amazing and funny how you're the reason I went into architecture and now I'm a second year
The Corsair is a beautiful ship.
I love watching your videos. it's great to see an architect's view on the design of the most detailed ships I have ever seen in a video game.
Always love these videos. Almost never going out of style, I’d run a pirate crew out of pyro of course!
My favorite "exploration" ship--ever!
I really do love exploring other people's cargo.
The more I look at this ship, the more I fall in love with it and all its unsymetrical analogy ways lol
As always, great video @Morphologis
I've always loved the barebone look of Drake and I would love to use the Corsair as a daily driver for exploring new wrecks and locations in the Pyro system and beyond.
Love this ship so much! Asymmetry is difficult but they nailed it, every time I watch this video I find new things to love about the Corsair
The interior design reminds me of the millennium falcon, as well as the Nebuchadnezzar from the Matrix. Super cool ship, super cool review, and super cool channel!
