+Kobe Keovongsa but its a helping advertisement to stop children from trying to eat fast foods and is just giving facts on how advertisements from fast foods restaurants is effecting children lives.
@@fluffyflufffluffs3432 I'm late, I know, but isn't she kind of a hypocrite? She's telling us that we shouldn't have corporations tell us what and what not to eat, but she made a whole 6 minute video to tell people what they should be eating and what they should be avoiding. Although I do agree on the fact that she's trying to make people aware of how advertisements are impacting children's lives.
@@fluffyflufffluffs3432 if it were just facts it would be an explanatory video. This is argumentative, shes giving her opinion, with facts sprinkled in to help prove her point
Great video but (time) 3:51 shows a syringe while talking about 1 in 3 middle school children getting diabetes. You are showing Type 1 which is not traditionally caused by the consumption of too much sugar but more by genetics and "other unknown factors" Just wanted to mention that...
A real parent would regulate what their kids eat. The parent is responsible for what their children consume. People blame the corporations for targeting children when in fact you have the spineless parent who can't say no! Who is the adult and who is the child.
Problem is, in some instances, the issue is out of the control of we the people. My local high school banned junk food from the school cafeteria and within a year a Timmies, a Subway and a convenience store serving pizza and fries opened up across the street. Now when I drive by at lunchtime, I see long lines at these places. The school suffers because it's not moving as much product as it used to to help pay for the school's other expenses which in turn means the students suffer... How does one battle that?
What about people that are in poverty and are forced to eat only fast food, with store prices rising along with other items making it impossible to buy stuff? Like what if for example, your oven was broken, a vital part of cooking. And because of the stock prices rising, I couldn’t afford to buy a new one? Am I still wrong for buying and eating only fast food, and the diabetes asthma cancer and high blood pressure I get in the future my fault? Make it make sense. It shouldn’t be children being the victim for wanting fast food. What about adults? Adults have bank accounts and jobs and are more able to buy fast food. Our parents can say no and that’s it, but what about the parents? Who struggle with disorders and self control, buying all this fast food? Not everyone is rich and famous and can afford to buy all the cooked broccoli they want. Ever thought about the people who have to have their money do to bills and not enough money for it? Ever think about the poor? Naw I’m joking lmao

Excellent message - Between the fast-food pop-ups and the food deserts it becomes nearly impossible for kids to have access to healthy nutrition. It's a full time job as a parent to monitor what kids see and buy. Time to level the playing field on burgers vs broccoli.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with the ad overall. but you can't misinform people and then expect them to make informed decisions. If they're going to make statements, and they want to be taken seriously, they need to make accurate scientific statements. If they had said 'partially hydrogenated soybean oil' or just 'soybean oil' that would have been far more impactful. if she had said 'high fructose corn syrup' instead of 'sugar' that would have been much more accurate.

Me: I wish we could write a fictional story and focusing about worldbuilding, story, character development, theme, and literally everything else that is in a good story! ELA: nah here have an essay, its kinda useful so..... *do it*
My god what a BS video. I raised three kids and any parent who claims that can't control what their kids eat needs to hand in their parenting card now. Being a parent is doing what is right for your kids even if they get mad at you for doing it. Welcome to real life people.
they are trying to stop advertising of junk food and stating facts. they arent bullshit this is legit. im not trying to start a war here but, I think the video has a few really good points
Me and my entire family have fallen prey to the Happy Meal monster in our times. I'm still healthy enough (I think), but yeah, the older I get, the more I realize what a bunch of manipulative twats the food industry really are. Not that I blame them- if my millions were riding on selling tasty mass-produced hamburgers, I'd do everything I could to make people buy them, especially including marketing them to susceptible audiences like children.
I think some of you are missing the point. It's not about being a good parent, as most of us are not with our children 24/7. It is more to the issue of specifically targeting children in ads and saturating every media format with proven psychological techniques that in fact do manipulate the thought process of easily influenced young people. In no way does what corporations do remove the onus of parental supervision as it relates to both food and monitoring children's media usage habits, but unless you've been under a rock or expect that every child will be completely shielded from said ads, clearly reality and the way it should be doesn't always occur, and the effects are manifested in a myriad of health issues. If you listened, you'd see the speaker is not advocating banning fast food and heavily processed foods, but merely advocating for greater responsibility on the part of media and corporations, and encouraging parents to have a greater awareness, which I'm not sure how that can be construed as a bad thing.
Well done, what's important from this video - I think - is that that unhealthy food is sold because of quasi-fraudolent marketing-strategies. Touching upon the vulnerable psycologies of children: how can goverments free tollerate such horrible conducts?
Great video and we need to push this. As a doctor for the past 35 years, I deal nutritionally with patients. Recently, in the past 10 years I've seen more children and adults with digestive issues and sugar issues. This video is important for all to see.
It's nice to see a video that's not littered with made up crap and it's even nicer that it makes a really valid point. As a nurse, I see too many kids in the hospital. The parents are smart enough to hold down jobs, but not smart enough to realize how important their children's diets are. I wish I were legally allowed to slap slap some sense into ignorant people who only half-protect/half-guide their children. The worst part is we're not even allowed to metaphorically do that.
Brief explanation of marketing advertisements: every time you see and ad for a particular product that image is imbedded in your subconscious mind, The more you see that add or that brand the more pronounced it will remain in your mind. When you go shopping and you see that brand you subconscious mind will bring to the surface those ad's you saw leading you to be influence to buy that particular brand over some other particular brand or off-brand. Marketing is all about biological psychology
I'm skeptical of the statistics quoted. "1 in 3 kids eats fast food everyday." seems a bit high. Why are we blaming business when we should be blaming the parents? Fast food has been around for decades, much longer than our obesity problem. Cook good meals for your kids, limit their television and video game consumption, and kick their butts out of the house to make them play outside.
4:27 - "..choices are available where I live and I can afford them.." we don't need self righteous hipsters waving their Internet warrior flag around, although video is informational it comes off condescending.
Well I'm happy you don't live in a food desert. Maybe you don't need "self righteous hipsters", but i'd definitely suggest reading up on food deserts, food socioeconomics and food psychology. Or at least pulling Peter Jennings "How to get fat without even trying" series. Hard to argue with peer reviewed studies and facts.
