    I think people should understand that democracy doesn't mean absolute freedom. By having laws, doesn't that mean we are also somehow restricted by our freedom? Let's be real here, freedom isn't absolute. It ends when it violates other's freedom and that's precisely what Johnny is trying to point out by "restricting freedom".

    What the Filipino was trying to say:don't give communism a chance to grow and overthrow a democratic government . We dont't want to be china and n.korea ,do we?

    Agree with Johnny, how can you differentiate Democracy and anarchy if no limiting freedom. Its like setting the boundery of when is an act hurting others.

    There are limititions to your freedom even you are living in a democratic country, that is why the law was enforces. Yes you are allowed to do whatever you want to do, provided that you will not violate the law of your country. That's the limitations that Johnny is emphasizing in his instance.

    Johnny is correct.. Everything has a limit even a democracy.. That's why we have a law. To put a limits on it's.. You are free to do everything but there is consequences..

      Yup, this is why constitutions exist, it enshrines certain items and rights to be beyond the influence of simple majority rule. Constitutions are basically tools that prevent democracy from harming things that society has deemed so incredibly important that not even the majority could touch.

    Even my fellow country was not on the debated, I choose Philippines because he did not talking about the problem of his own country for he predict the future problem of every country, rivalry of country, sea and treasure, Sport of being a strongest country then what? Seize a weak country. His intelligence and advance.

    Johnny's views were influenced by the issues caused by communists in the Philippines and the world at large at the time. The government was not tolerant of communist ideals due to the fact that they were constantly trying to overthrow the Philippine government. On top of that, Philippines knew first hand how difficult it was for people displaced by communism in other countries. The Philippines accepted so many refugees from Germany, Russia, Vietnam and China when these countries were taken over by the communists. The Philippines even had to go to war to help other countries being invaded by communist China. THerefore, it is not surprising for a Filipino at the time to approach the topic this way.

    Remember this debate was in the the 1950's, it's now 2021 going on 2022; now who do you think was right in their arguments at that time pertaining to current status about communism. Remember socialism is just a step down before communism.

    jhonny is really a intellegent man 3 heads vs 1 head. Im not saying because I am bias since im filipino.

  • @bitchpls
    @bitchpls 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    People fail to understand that Jhonny is saying that communism in general is dangerous and it is a group , (not necessarily saying everyone in the group is dangerous) which is why the best way to erase them is by segregating the good from the bad. The good communist who never imposes threat or danger, will be given a chance to be a capitalist, that way they can see it for themselves that the government they have prejudices with might not be the same government. Whilst the bad (the commuist party who took actions on their prejudices) have to be judged according to the law, which is mainly the "restriction" in democracy. While it's true that you can't punish every communist just by their thoughts, you can punish those who act on it, and by doing so instills a "restriction" because then, they will realize that every thing has "consequences" which will make them think twice regardless of their prejudices on the government.

    Well its a bit nice to identify a problem and find it's solution.... we understand how Britain has colonized India and it left traces of conflict of territory like what happened now the squabble on some boundaries of the Pakistan with India; specifically in Kashmir. The discussion of communism has gone further to British Imperialism....and so on and so forth...and knowing about women's right in India in Political public standpoint is problematic even in the context of marriage is dragged down out in the open because some cultural practice in relation to women are not even welcomed to be a topic of talk inside in Indian setting, due to the certain practice of stereotyped evaluation of some point of view; adopted by the caste system.

    • @hambugmongtanan2066

      on this regard, communism works underground and remain's hidden and is a threat to the world.

    Johnny's world view is not applicable anymore in this era. the USSR has has already fallen and the "centralize" communism he is mentioning does not exist anymore as socialist/communist countries has now developed their own flavor of it, mixed in with a bit of nationalism and slight dash of capitalistic policies. He is bright but his point of view does not age well.

    China and the despicable USSR is Authoritarian ,most left wingers hate authoritarianism.Most left wing people in America fir example are strictly anti authoritarian albeit not Anarchist in majority (btw anarchism isnt anarchy, anarchism is a hyper democratic ,distributed,small govt communist govt ,just saying).Here the problem in this debate is that everyone otger than jhonny are matured enough , Johnny is overtly Authoritarian and o er militant himself, which would be justifyable if what he said was true, but they're talking about stalinism , most dominant Left wing ideologies arent Authoritarian based like the USSR or China, but they speak of communism as a monolithic ideology and do not draw any true distinction of what the dangerous communist idealogical branches are. Sad how uneducated peoole hear Johnny's radical statements and feel a wow factor in it , typical stuff. please learn the opposing ideology before you try to attack it .Study the layout of the building before you point out it's weaknesses structurally.
