Knowing how these tricks work doesn't spoil the enjoyment for me; it makes me admire the magician that much more for having thought up the ingenious mechanism(s) needed to make the illusion work.
Appreciate the magic engineers. As I understand it there are designers and performers with some overlap. The engeers design the tricks.
I like so much more the magic shows since these tricks were revealed. Revealing them do not spoil anything since we all knew that there was something logical in the performance. Of course with the exception of some fanatics believing wrong forces from the Bible were involved. I feel so sorry for such individuals and for the fact that some make fun of them. They are also people with believes, but with limited thinking abilities.
Even though we know how tricks are done, it really takes a magician to pull them off correctly 💪.

What an absurd statement
As a child I was so scared of magic and magicians so I stayed away from this totally. I love this reveal. A big fan of "magic acts" now. Misdirection only directs me to the trick 🎉🎉🎉
You have the Houdini trick wrong. Carpet was placed on the floor before the building of the wall. Once Houdini wanted to go through the wall, all had to do was have trapdoors below the carpet lowered which allowed the carpet to sag and he would roll under the wall. I read this as a child in a book about Houdini in the 1960s.
I'm still astound by the speed and perfection of the execution.. even though I know the secrets
How does he levitate?
The only trick I know is that when you order a double cheeseburger at McDonald's, ask them to add lettuce and substitute ketchup/mustard for Big Mac sauce and viola' you have a Big Mac that is $4 cheaper than ordering an actual Big Mac.🍔 The More You Know 🌈

Long ago i used to watch "Magic biggest secrets finally revealed' , the explanation are on the point, convincing and clear.
There's a TH-cam channel that plays that. It releases one trick at a time from that show. Man, that was major taboo back in the day

You gotta give credit to the practice that goes in to being a magician/illusionist. They make it very difficult to see the illusion in real time.
I still enjoy watching the act, even though I know it's not real.

The very first "revelation" is wrong: the magician has his fingers over the front of the dove frame, precluding a folding front. Also, the bird appears from BEHIND the frame. You see this by single frame advance (pause the video and advance with the period key).
Came to find this. With the girl trick you see the bottom is empty so no cage flaps down

The bag in the Houdini "Metamorphisis" trick is Not sewn Closed at the bottom. He just pulls the bottom of the bag up and off and the girl just pulls the bag over her head. The knot is never touched and it gets untied by the spectator who tied it. The bag is Never examined to reveal the open bottom.

Criss Angel performance is not a magic trick, its a played TV production and shouldnt be on this list.
Agreed. Chris Angel doesn't do magic, he just entertains and everything he does is scripted and done using camera tricks and paid actors. It's nowhere near what you would call magic.

We know most of the (if not all) street magic is fake... especially when they do extrodronidary things that are impossible such as what Chris Angel did by levitating across a building or when David Copperfield vanished the Statue of Liberty etc etc. Read the comment before trying to belittle others just because you think you are smart.

I wouldn’t call it famous for Chris’s angel. I think there are plenty of other famous tricks of Criss that would have been a better choice. However, It is for TV. Many of Copperfields grand illusions at the end of his specials were played for TV, but that was the purpose as it was specific audience target was TV viewers. 1 big difference, Copperfield generally had a live audience in 99% of his specials, Criss did not

I think that Dom Chambers used an index (a full deck, arranged in a small container so you can retrieve any named card quickly), so that the judges had a free choice of card to choose. They make very small indexes these days. Once they named the card, he pulled the right card from the index and folded it - plenty of time.

I could never understand people being amazed by Magicians on Video because of all the trickery possible on video.
On the other hand.... Edgar Bergen (a famous ventriloquist) was the star of The Edgar Bergen-Charlie McCarthy Show which was a permanent fixture on American network RADIO from 1937 until 1957.

I am a magician and I’m telling you that 90% of what he really feeling is not even accurate but if you want to believe what he says even though he’s not a magician, then you’re a fool cause these tricks were not ever revealed on TH-cam so there’s no way he can possibly know he’s wrong

I agree with the comments that unless you are a talented and trained you could not pull off these illusions even knowing how they are performed. I dabbled in magic, and it takes hours of practice to pull of some basic parlor tricks to make them appear convincing.
He actually did his own twist to the bird frame explanation given. If you watch the video you can see through the frame at the end. The explanation given wouldn't have allowed you to see through it.
More likely he probably had a few layers of cloth behind the frame on some kind of spring loaded rollers. Release one and it pulls the black cloth away leaving the white. Release the next and it pulls the white leaving the red. Then finally the red is pulled away leaving the hole. The bird could have been behind there somehow but no need for it to be. It could have just been a normal reveal like his other tricks.
Steven cube magic could be done even to perfection by producing exactly to Simon’s shuffle. I can reproduce any shuffled cube from solved cube. It would take a little more time though. But certainly possible.

You appear to be close on Houdini's Metamorphosis. But that is not how modern ilusionists do it. The door is not in the back.
I remember those “as seen on TV” magic cards you can buy. The deck is tapered and every other card is the ace of spades. Just rotate the aces in advance 180-degrees and slide your fingers up. I still remember the deck’s box was called “Fox Lake Cards” so remove “oxl” in your mind and it spells “Fake Cards”. 🤪 Dies anyone remember if every single deck sold used the ace of spades?
