      Zeppelin put out some middling stuff after it happened. All of My Love was written about his son, and is probably the best song they did on their last two albums.

      I think that'd probably the worst thing anyone could ever experience in life having experienced a car crash then finding your 5 year had died. The fact he survived and quit drugs afterwards is testament to his character.

      @@thelostpeachxoxo3369 - If you listen to the Small Faces “You Need Lovin’”…you would swear somebody was imitating Robert Plant quite well. Except that Steve Marriott’s song predates Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love by years.
      It matters little now…of course…unless you’re busy heaping praise on Plant’s originality, style and talent.
      Plant, much like composer John Williams, should be gentlemen enough to acknowledge the hard work done by others that they so blithely “borrow” from.

      @@christopherp.hitchens3902 you re so delusional, you think Marriot invented such singing? 😂😂😂 there were many before and after him who sang like that, and he also was influenced by other singers definitely. • @allbottledup9513
      @allbottledup9513 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@christopherp.hitchens3902Plant was heavily influenced by Marriott and Daltrey, and a few others. He copied his vocal style on that song yes, but you cannot tell me that Plant’s singing on LZ IV for example sounds anything like Marriott’s on ONGF. To be clear, I have the utmost respect for both of them. I just don’t believe you’re being entirely fair to Plant. Marriott leaving Small Faces is, in my mind, one of the worst things to happen in rock history. ONGF should have been just the start.

    Then, in1980, as we were waiting for US tour dates to be anounced, John Bonham died. Sept.25 1980. That was the final straw. It was rumoured that Led Zeppelin had some sort of curse pertaining to touring in the US..I don't know..I saw a video about John Bonham saying that, John REALLY did not want to leave home for a lengthy US tour by 1980. Very sad stories behind the fame & glory. Glad the other three are still with us.

    His entire family nearly perished in a horrific car crash, then two years later he becomes a member of a club no one wants to be a member of, and the final nail….he loses his best in the band…Bonham! What really mystified me was how Plant still went back to Zep after his son’s death after both Page and Jones all but ignored him & family and didn’t attend Karac’s funeral? And people wonder why they never really got back together, or would do more reunions?! I’m shocked Plant & Page teamed up in the 90’s they way they did!

    Gods what a horrible year. I know A whole lotta love was written for his son. It's great that he got off drugs, it's really awful that Bonzo died a few years later after convincing him to stay in music. Robert was made to front a rock band though, I doubt he could have stayed away. He never became a teacher after the end of LZ and he was still young.

    You just struggle to grasp how and/or why Zepp had a cloud of bad karma envelop them, maybe a sort of payback for leading lives a bit much to the excess I don’t know - but beginning with Robert’s devastating accident in Greece in ‘75, the truly tumultuous North American tour of ‘77 AND his boy’s tragic death at the same time, slowly fading talent, and then of course culminating with Bonzo’s demise .. it was a truly shocking and bewildering downfall of truly the most talented band of all the rock pioneer bands of those days 😢

    I read somewhere that Bonzo was the only one who went to the funeral. Page and Jones couldn't get it together enough to go.

    There was a video on TH-cam, where RB said in an interview something like „no amount of fame or money can compensate for the death of a son“… unfortunately, I can’t find it anymore. It was from the 1980‘s, or the late 1970‘s… it was quite emotional…
