There was a little game called Battleborn that went down this path before Blizzard did. Unfortunately, Blizzard couldn't create something better than a game that came out in 2016 with all the money they have.

Too little too late, with 3 missions and some cutscenes and this bundle costs 15 instead of being free as they previously promised. Actiblizzard really done goofed up

They want to avoid lawsuits so they crunched the cutscenes in missions sets
They erased the full intended vision. What we're getting is little popcorn chicken bits of what used to be a full rotisserie chicken with a side of potatoes and gravy, that now need to be purchased separately.
