Guys! Make sure to vote for the next player by watching to the end! Here is how to dominate a game like Zinedine Zidane! Zidane is one of my favorite players of all time due to hist elegance, composure and out of this world ball control. There is so much to learn from this guy!
SimplySoccer Eden Hazard video he is in form and I am a small left winger who want's help to play like hazard not that many people have a video on this guy next video after the Isco please
Hey Dave, I always get carried away when my teammates yell at me when I take the ball forward, and the last game, I went forward plenty of times and ended up getting a hattrick. I always tell myself before a game to take risks and I always end up just not using my strengths. Any way I can fix this?
Like Wenger said to Van Persie when he was deployed as a midfielder. "Keep it simple." If you want to do something fancy, play at the flanks. The central position (CBs, CMs and CFs.) Needs simplicity. You lose ball more frequently than Wingers. Plus first touch is everything. Keep it simple, have good first touch and of course, get your chins up. Notice the movement of all players surrounding you. You must be able to notice two or three players position before you receive the ball. Zidane is great at that. He notices everything. Same as Xavi. Learn Xavi turning skills, as it is a great skill to see everything around you.
Krodh Mukta Yup. Although midfielders seemed ordinary unlike forwards and wingers. Their sole purpose is too keep the ball. Its easy to lose the ball in midfield. It takes really really good skill and IQ to play in midfield. Midfield are considered generals or kings because best midfield win matches. The best players are always at that position (Complete players, able to defend, attack, pace, stamina, balance mentality, the jack of all trades.)
Need to add to your analysis: a) Beat your opponent with the first touch. This is no discovery, Zidane regarded this as a major part of his game. If you learn to do this, you start playing at another level (i.e. you are never static). b) Pass the ball from one leg to another. Zidane did that constantly and not only in set dribbles such as the Roullette. He is the only player I know who did basketball cross-overs with his feet. This gave him the confidence and ability to keep the ball away from opponents. c) Spatial awareness. Not sure how you train for this, but his ability in retaining the ball and escaping into space, (without necessarily outrunning his opponents) was phenomenal. In this, Iniesta is very similar to Zidane. d) Timing: Many players have that, and Zidane did as well. He never kept the ball more than what was necessary. And what people need to take notice about Zidane is that he passed the ball on his runs, without breaking stride or giving any indication of where he was passing it. Great video, thanks
Zidane was just UNREAL. Never saw that before or eversince. One of his most uncanny features is how he knew how to "dribble" past the best defenders without touching the ball, letting it roll for meters with body fakes and pure understanding of trajectories and anticipation. All-time great(est?).
Zidane has unbelievable agility! He is very tall considering a football player! Yet he is able to perform moves that most other big players would not dare to try as they might be injured but not zidane! His body can take that kind of twist and turn!
What makes Zidane better than other mid-fielders is that 1. He plays a perfect number 10 role 2. And still is a perfect : a. Controller b. Distributor c. Space provider d. Play maker e. Defensive f. Perfect crosses g. Mid-field breaker h. Styler i. Vision
The only way to comment on Zidane is by poetry, trying to analyze Zidane game is like trying to analyze a painting, i think Zidane touches the heart of fans and players who love elegance and gracefulness. The analytical guys who like numbers and speed prefer C.Ronaldo.
A good explanation about zidane's simplicity yet magical to watch. For me zidane is professor X of football a 90+ minute player who touches the ball more than anyone on the pitch with finesse like that. Ball control, first touch, vision/pass/short or long, scores goals, a leader/winner. To me zidane is the complete player. And a very important figure on the pitch to any team he played for.
Thank you for this nice analytic video, friend... but small correction: Spin move or Zidane Roulette ( 3:35 ) was a long time ago, before Maradona.. if you want true. but no one can did that move like Zidane. that's why is named as Zidane's move.
+SimplySoccer *again:* 1. that move was a long time ago, before Maradona. 2. no one can that move like Zidane. 3. maybe there is point. and saying on every Zidane's "spin move" moment Maradona?!.. this is minimum disrespect or stupidity, if you are not noob. P.S. not Soccer, but Football.
It is commonly called Roulette but because Zidane do it frequently than others, it is called the Zidane etc. Everyone can do that move like Zidane but no one can do it frequently like Zidane. I can only do this move once or twice during a game but Zidane used this moves like always. Like a flick of a button and mine was like emergency self destruct button xD
Zidane was so good because he was just cold blooded, when all the other players were nervous or playing very intense he was cool headed, his cold mindset and mastery of his basic made him one of the best, the other only player I know who plays today is busquets, but also berkham , Landrup and of course riquelme
angel vides your number one goal is to Sprint as much as you can you need to run so much keep running and running until you get super fast then run with the ball as fast as you can around some cones and just keep drilling like that .
Ro Na average? Are you on drugs? He was one of the best passers in history he’s just so underrated. There’s a video of him on TH-cam I forgot what it’s called but search for it and watch then you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Zidane is my favorit player of all time, I love watching his games. The only real dribbling technics he made was the "Marseille roulette" and the step over.
Look how low his centre of gravity is. He has the moves, but it seems like it’s his balance and ability to move fluidly in any direction that gives him such mastery and control. When I try to play that low to the ground my legs ache in minutes. The strength and conditioning of his legs and core may have played a crucial part too.
You forgot to mention Zidane's most outstanding skill: awareness. He almost always knew when to play safe, when to take risks, when and where to pass the ball, when to dribble... And all of that came from always knowing where everyone was placed on the pitch at all times.
Another point to add to dominate like Zidane is fitness. Amongst other things. You can't play like him, control like him, if you're not physically fit. Those twists and turns are very demanding on the knees. To control like him you need to have your knees bent all the time. You need to have strong thighs to support your frame and movements and more importantly, you need to be flexible. That's just the phydical side. In terms of mentality, you need to be confident, but selfless. Your reading of the game as your technique have to be immaculate. Two principles he used were 1. Always having his body between the ball and the player and 2. Constantly changing directions and pivoting with the ball
Hey Dave, your videos are awesome. Could you please make videos (drills) on endurance and speed drills. Skills are very important but to be able to run 90 minutes and perform passes and skill moves are demanding
I'll definitely be covering that at some point. I'm thinking about starting a series where I document my training, habits, etc where a lot of this would be organically covered.
Michael Laudrup was doing these things before Zidane & better in my opinion. Playing for Denmark, didn't give him the same platform at international level like Zidane had, to dominate & win world cups.
Michael Laudrup was brilliant, but I don't know if I agree with him being better. Still, both legends in their own ways and both fantastic. Doesn't seem to be many players like them these days.
SimplySoccer Laudrup was the better dribbler. Rounded defenders, with consummate ease... The only European player i'd seen better at that was, Johan Cruyff, who's the best European player of all time...Cruyff, Laudrup, Zidane, all had that silky, velvet, touch on the ball & graceful, balletic movement... A modern player like Cristiano Ronaldo, looks so unelegant, next to them.
john pacino CR is a machine. He's not blessed with elegance but physical wise he is the best compare to anyone. A machine. He knew that, that's why he make his body like that to make up for his shortcomings. At first, he looks like a kid who will flop and eventually went to championship team but he proved me wrong. Although he is not a "genius", he certainly deserved to be one of the greats for his determination. Its something out of an anime xD
Hi I'm 12 years old and really enjoy your videos of helping people to become better at football can you please do a tutorial about how to get into a football academy at a age like me because my goal is to play for Northampton fc academy. U13 and is currently playing for its elite and things I can be better to impress the club
I don't have any experience with this and don't really know too much about how the academy system works. What I will say is obviously do everything you can to get better and get the attention of coaches and scouts. If you can, get yourself into a proven system or program to accelerate your growth.
Hi can i ask some advice? My brother and dad tell me that i need to play football faster but im having a hard time improving this area, i try look up, make decisions and find who to pass too before the ball even comes to me but my head ends up going blank on me and i get caught standing there with the ball at my feet unable to think. How can i stop this or how can i train myself to stop this?
There absolutely right. You want to have the ability to play quickly when it makes sense. It sounds like you need to practice this area often because you are getting nervous when you have to do it. Start focusing on this a lot in your training and remember to always train the way you want to play. If you are casual in your training, you'll be casual in your matches.

U forgot the most important thing. VISION. How zidane know exactly where his teammate and opponent. this makes the match beautiful to watch

FOR ME HE IS GREATEST OF ALL TIME!! THE MOST VERSATILE PLAYER EVER
J. Cruyff was more versatile than Zizou. Two legends.
@@ll3yWanTeD Gullit more versatile than both
If anything he was a bit limited in his dimensions
Imo zizou better than johan and gullit
Zidane was just UNREAL. Never saw that before or eversince. One of his most uncanny features is how he knew how to "dribble" past the best defenders without touching the ball, letting it roll for meters with body fakes and pure understanding of trajectories and anticipation. All-time great(est?).

haha zizou was tough
Also Zidane was very both footed
Yup!
can you do Modric for the next player please
What makes Zidane better than other mid-fielders is that

2. And still is a perfect :
a. Controller
b. Distributor
c. Space provider
d. Play maker
e. Defensive
f. Perfect crosses
g. Mid-field breaker
h. Styler
i. Vision
Whoa whoa whoa... Zidane was not a baller who does simple things, my friend. Zidane was the definition of fancy.
GOAT! nobody comes close to his style and smoothness. he was dancing with the ball and i maybe biased bc algerian/swedish background (yes, Ibra). ;P
Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Beckham,Gerrard, ronaldo, rivaldo,Figo etc, Zidane humiliated and outshine them all
Tyrese Sinclair also got humiliated by messi and fenemeno
Siddarth Abhimanyu you do know zidane was already old when he was facing young Messi right so yeah tried to do that when he was in his prime .
Siddarth Abhimanyu you know someone who will break him gattuso 😎
He didn’t outshine Ronaldinho or Ronaldo
He is not better than beckaham or ronaldinho
