Fantastic stuff here once again! Your videos are pure gold! These are aspects of Zidane that are not known to masses. Thanks for sharing all of them. I'm also hoping for a Redondo daily dose some day! Keep going!
Zidane was a true foorball player, a legend, not a clown or a showman like many we see nowdays. His football skills were unique, and yet he was modest. There is nothing more important in life than loving your parents, especially your Mum, and he loved his parents. There has been, till today, a lot of racism in the football world. Zizou is of Algerian descent and that was the main reason many racist football managers ignored his talents initially... to their loss. Zizou you were and still are the best of the best.
I discovered him while watching a Bordeaux match on TV, probably around 1993. I didn't know anything about Bdx, Dugarry, Lizarazu or Zidane, but after one match, I knew he was for real. And Bdx with those three was fun to watch!

People put too much pressure on youngsters these days saying there done and they are only 22. Most people don't even know that xavi (25 or 26 at the time ) sat on the beach for whole 2006 champions League final. He would have considered a dead baller if social media was prevalent during that time
Zidane and R9 are on the same level, and both are way beyond Ronaldinho. I seriously cannot believe people think Ronaldinho was on the same level as those two. Ronaldinho was flashy but he'd never dribbled like R9 and never understood the game like Zidane.
A friend of mine met him in Spain. According to my friend, Zidane is extremely down to earth, very approachable, very humble and very kind…but also very shy. For arguably the greater player of all time, and certainly the greatest midfielder of all time, he is a very rare bird. You have to respect him.
I remember a long time ago back in Manchester hearing a story of how Cantona begged Ferguson to sign him, so United made an enquiry and said he'd be on RW mostly, so Zidane said no and United signed Poborsky instead...
In 1993 I was living in Bordeaux the first football match I went to see, a new kid had joined the team of Lizarazu and Dugarry and his coach Alain Girèse (a legend of the 1982 France team). Zinedine and the whole team propelled Bordeaux (and vice versa for Yazid) from the "repêchage" to the UEFA final. incredible !
Thanks for the historical footage of a young Yazid, never knew this was his name. Truly a rough diamond that needed polishing, thank God that Monsieur Varraud crossed paths with him for the 2nd time.
A trophy is a tangible, durable reminder of a specific achievement, serving as recognition or evidence of merit. Trophies are most commonly awarded for sporting events, ranging from youth sports to professional level athletics. Good Luck
In Sweden we have this iconic ex-footballer named Johnny Ekström, famous for his not too overly bright quotes. 1992 he played in Cannes with Zizou and told a footballer friend and ex teammate (Glenn Strömberg) over the phone "We have this 17 year old youngster here that everyone talks about. He do sole trix and stuff. His name is Zidane and I doubt he will be anything" lol.
That’s why I believe players like Bellingham Saka Foden is too early to call them world class look how long it took for Zidane to be called world class
As a lifelong Manchester United supporter, Fergie definitely made a mistake by not signing Zidane, not once, but TWICE. First in the summer of 1996, while Cantona was still playing and about to embark on his last season in football, which he himself didn't knew at the time, years later he lamented in the press, that he could have been teammate with Zizou at United (proving the fear Fergie had of of upsetting Cantona was unfounded), and that United scouts went to see Zidane play at Bordeaux, but for some reason, he had an off day on those occasions, in the season where Bordeaux had that amazing run in the UEFA Cup (1995/96) and where he was turning a free agent in the summer. And secondly, in the summer of 1998 (Zidane admitted in the press that Juventus and Manchester United almost came to an agreement), but the transfer finally fell through. But ZZ still remains one of the ultimate examples in sports, of how to make beauty and efficiency co-exist.
He was my inspiration when I was a kid and wanted to be a striker but had better vision and passes than anyone, sad with my 7 shirt instead of the 10. My trainer showed me him and that where I understood it's a team game and that I can be good as well. Since then he's been my favorite player, his way of playing is second to none, what a Goat.
Back then it was totally different. We had no internet etc. It was very very rare to see French football(unless you lived in France) on TV.... It was rare to see any foreign football other than English and Italian(huge back then) football. So Zidane was relatively unknown even tho he had done well in Europe. I remember in the build up to Euro 96 there was a lot of hype about him as Juve had just signed him. People were very excited to see him. To see how good he was. He was tipped at that stage to be a great player. He actually flopped during those Euros. People were expecting more. However he then went on to show everyone what a beautiful footballer he was at Juve, Real and for France. A total footballing legend.
Loved every second of that video , it was awesome and gave me so much informations on Monsieur Zidane , and it would be awesome to have french subtitles on that video
I like him the most cause he was a big stage player, Maybe he didn't score the amount the Goals like any other Player but when big tournaments came like FIFA He was a different Beast. His performance in 1998 and 2006 vs Brazil was 🔥🔥
Great video but trust me growing up in france at that time. Once he started playing for Bordeaux the whole country quickly realized he was that guy and that first goal first game for france no one forgot
Honestly never heard of Zidane until the 1998 World Cup and he was incredible. It's also weird seeing him with a full head of hair as I've never seen any old footage of him prior to 1998. One of the best midfielders of all time and he's won practically everything you can win in football.
He did nothing at the 1998 WC but scoring 2 headers in the final (which he will never do again in his career, him the designated corner kicker of France at that time...). He was suspended for 3 games after hurting violently a Saudian player in the second game of the tournament and was completely invisible against Italy and Croatia. His WC 1998 is a scam saved by these very 2 suspicious headers in the final.
@@OlivierGaffuri-wc2dl As I said, Zidane was the designated corner kicker for France. He kicked almost all of them before the final and after the final... but not in the final? And it ends up on his head with nobody marking him on the first goal and only Roberto Carlos the 2nd time (who is 20 cm shorter than Zidane). All the while while all the merchandising, notably this giant portrait of him on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, were labelled Zidane and not French team? What would have happened to al this marketing if Zidane had performed badly in the final (like he did numerous times for Juve during CL finals)? This final was fixed.
The most elegant player I've ever watched. And I've seen a lot of them. Zidane invented soccer. Him and Ronaldo Nazario playing during the same time is the biggest treat a football fan can ever get.

People put too much pressure on youngsters these days saying there done and they are only 22. Most people don't even know that xavi (25 or 26 at the time ) sat on the beach for whole 2006 champions League final. He would have considered a dead baller if social media was prevalent during that time
Xavi was a young prodigy. He faced Manchester United bravely in 1999.
It's true.
Most casual fans haven't heard about Xavi until 2008 Euro.
Zidane and R9 are on the same level, and both are way beyond Ronaldinho. I seriously cannot believe people think Ronaldinho was on the same level as those two. Ronaldinho was flashy but he'd never dribbled like R9 and never understood the game like Zidane.
Aah no my man, R9 is above Zidane and Ronaldinho
A friend of mine met him in Spain. According to my friend, Zidane is extremely down to earth, very approachable, very humble and very kind…but also very shy. For arguably the greater player of all time, and certainly the greatest midfielder of all time, he is a very rare bird. You have to respect him.
Dude, I always hated Zidane cause I thought he was aggressive for no reason. I promise this video made me change my mind right now. Thanks.
Zidane pre-Juve definitely deserves more recognition. It looked liked he had the talent but he needed to show that he could be decisive.
Zidane is no doubt best MidFielder of all time !! No doubt ... He was perfect example of elegance in football..... I still loved his style of play..
I remember a long time ago back in Manchester hearing a story of how Cantona begged Ferguson to sign him, so United made an enquiry and said he'd be on RW mostly, so Zidane said no and United signed Poborsky instead...
Amazing videos bro, keep uploading them.
Good Luck
Too true... Too true. 🙏
Bro, your storytelling is fucking incredible. Appreciate the top tier content.
Remember him playing at Girondins Bordeaux... against Bayern München in the Uefa Cup final. With a phenomenal Lizarazu in his team...
My GOAT. Used to play football and fell in love with it when I was accidentally watching the guy at the '98 WC ❤
Best CAM till date
"Give me 10 planks of wood and Zidane and i'll win you the Champions League".
- Sun Tzu -
this man vids are genuis
You are committing a crime for not including his '98 worldcup campaign .
That’s why I believe players like Bellingham Saka Foden is too early to call them world class look how long it took for Zidane to be called world class
I didn't listen to any of this because I wasn't told, "So, listen to this..."
It's the way you tell stories bro.... do you write the scripts yourself? This stuff is amazing!
English isn't even his first language, it's incredible
Soo,...😀📺👀Good content bro
Zidane was pretty good with his Mug ability. He really was the 2nd best protagonist of the Playstation FF
as milan fans ,when i see zizou play agains us was mesmerizing..
This just enhanced my admiration for him! He had to do it the hard way and for me ; ive never seen a better footballer!
This my legend, long live Zizo.
My son name is Zidane hope one day could be just like u my lord
This and the SQUIDD commentary, are just magnificent. I could auto play these Chanels on 6 hours drive trip and get inspired.
for me, the best footballer i have ever watched.
I really needed to see a clip of Arsene Wenger lighting up a cigarette right now.
Zidane. A serious footballer, for serious football supporters. Will be spoken about in hushed tones for the rest of time.
"I bought myself a new pair of pants, the rest, I sent to my mom."
Absolute legend.
Loved every second of that video , it was awesome and gave me so much informations on Monsieur Zidane , and it would be awesome to have french subtitles on that video
When Zidane was 20, Cruyff wanted him for Barcelona, but left the team before contracting him.
I like him the most cause he was a big stage player, Maybe he didn't score the amount the Goals like any other Player but when big tournaments came like FIFA He was a different Beast.
His performance in 1998 and 2006 vs Brazil was 🔥🔥
WE NEED A PART TWO FOR THIS ! CUZ THIS IS A MASTERPIECE 🔥🔥
My favourite footballers are Messi and Zidane, Messi's dribbling and Zidane's classines. Just beautiful.
Great video but trust me growing up in france at that time. Once he started playing for Bordeaux the whole country quickly realized he was that guy and that first goal first game for france no one forgot
Imagine going from Cantona to Zidane. Its like going from Hubbard to Dumas.
My favourite player ever. So unique. He really did have four hands and no feet. Just poetry in motion.
Unbelievable video, awesome work, thank you.
ZZ WE MISS U !!! WHAT A PLAYER WHAT A LEGEND !!
Good day when Lucas uploads
Thanks man!
@@DailyDoseOfFootballYTI want to start TH-cam because of Lucas you the GOAT 🐐
@@DailyDoseOfFootballYTcan you make a video about Jan Ceulemans ?
@@carttom2
What was « suspicious » about his 2 goals in the WC final?
The Rolls-Royce of players, one of a kind. True Footballing genius
The most elegant player I've ever watched. And I've seen a lot of them. Zidane invented soccer. Him and Ronaldo Nazario playing during the same time is the biggest treat a football fan can ever get.
Zidane was a surgeon....ronaldinho was a dancer....r9 a beast!
and also pele, maradonna, best, bergkamp, messi, jachin, schmeichel, neuer, buffon, kahn, pirlo, romario, ibrahimovic, rivaldo, keane, ferdinand, beckham, henry, iniesta, inzaghi, kaka, figo, shevchenko and more
Zidane gives his part of his hair to shine, because we started to know him as legend when he started loosing that part from his hair. The wisdom and the magic are Zidane
i'm impressed how you made player photos look like their lookalike in every thumbnail
