- We all have our fishing roots. Some folks start with bobber and worms, liver, chicken tiddies, and even senko's. I however started with what I like to call chrimps. They stay on the hook fairly well, don't fall apart like livers, and don't smell nearly as bad as grand pappies dip bait. Most importantly, they catch fish. Walmart shrimps in an ol' poopy creek can be some of the fastest action you can get. Good for kids, and even good for adults that still act like kids.

I live on the st Clair River brother, we hammer everything out here from steel head and Atlantics to Wally's and flathead. Let me start by saying I love your videos you and catfish and carp are the two channels that got me back into fishing after years of not fishing and now it’s all I want to do. That being said as much as I love the catfish and carp vids I’d love to see some more kayak videos. huge into kayak fishing and would love to see you go on vacation and bring the kayak and go for some cool saltwater fish or go and fish the Great Lakes for salmon. I went channel cat fishing last weekend with the same exact frozen shrimp you're using. The shrimp would fall off a lot but it was fast action all night. It was a lot of fun actually.

Another great video from the Stachelord himself. I wanna do more cat fishing more but idk where the hell ti go these days in the Omaha area for that kind of fishing. Most lakes are overfished poop, and way too many people.

I get almost jealous watching your great videos. I live in central Illinois, in a city of 100,000, on the Illinois river. This was once a hugely busy industrial area with distilleries all along the river. Chicago used to send their sewage into the Illinois river to come down to us. When I was in high school in the mid - '60's, the water was so polluted you couldn't water ski or fish. It's much better now, but we still aren't supposed to eat any channel cat ever about 16". Women who could be pregnant shouldn't eat catfish more than once a month.
It's hard for me to even find bank access anywhere to fish anymore. I hope you realize how blessed you are to have so many choices. Love your videos, keep it up.

When you get to your spot,if it's frozen,take a couple,sit em in the water,at the edge for a couple of minutes and they thaw out and don't go to shit....
I soak my Walmart shrimps in scent on my way to catch salmon when I don't have eggs. Works great.

I always have frozen shrimp in zip loc bags in the freezer for times I can't catch bait. It works great. I split a bag up into eight pieces of shrimp per bag

Hi mate when using any frozen bait take a small bucket fill with water put the bait in at the where you as long as your close it will be thawed in 20 minutes don't put it all in at once the rest will defrost slowly and can be refrozen

I grew up in NJ and my dad and I used the caps of squid. Cut them into 3" triangles then slit the tail and double it on the hook. Squid is more tough than shrimp and will stay on the hook better.

Thats what I use for bait in Sandusky Bay for 20 lb plus channel rats and pair that with a sante cooper rig with 5/0 circle hooks, works wonders

Hear me out. Look up Proline bait catfish series. Order the monster crab and put it on raw chicken breast chunks. The channels and blues love it.

You ever come east. Holler at me, fish the Ohio river for hybrids and cats. 12-15 lb hybrids can be caught. There almost a thing in the past but they still lurk in the Ohio. And there no way you can go wrong with a hybrid and a damn in current.
You can add salt to the shrimp and let it sit for a while and the shrimp will toughen up

Frozen shrimp always works better than thawed for me I think it's because the Frozen chunks want to float slightly off the bottom

I have problems deep hooking fish when I use perfect circle hooks, especially smallmouth. Octopus are a little better, but the Owner Mutu circle hooks seem to get the lip every time.

@@PigPatrolTVUp here in N.E. Minnesota cats live in fast moving cold rivers. Their meat is white and firm. You can cook them anyway you want. Just as good as Walleye in my opinion. 😎
You need to try using a bait that I suggested a long time ago on one of your previous videos.
Ask your wife to go to the store and buy you some unscented tampons.
Then you put some chicken livers into the blender to turn them into a liver smoothy.
Dip the tampons into the liver smoothy to soak up this blood-soup and then let them harden a bit in the freezer.
You then put a circle hook through them and use them for catfish bait.
You can use the string that hangs down from each tampon to tie onto your line to help you not accidentally lose your bait.
When your tampon fishing for catfish goes viral, you can thank me later.
