    I have a 2017 66 plate xDrive35i petrol with 56k mi in mineral white met and I really like it. The M Sport Package adds the similar exterior styling you have on yours.

    Nice review. I totally agree with you about lane departure warnings. I currently drive a Peugeot 3008, which incidentally, I do love, but the constant nudging of the steering wheel if I drift over a lane without indicating, is annoying. Thankfully it can be switched off. Despite me actually enjoying the 3008, I find it a bit small and I've always fancied a BMW. The X5 is obviously going to be more expensive for the same year (currently driving a 2018), but you get so much car with the X5. It's pretty much the ultimate vehicle. It's my Wife that I have to convince, as the 3008 is really her work car and I have a work van. How on earth am I somehow going to wrangle it, where I can justify spending on an X5? Problems problems eh.
    I particularly like that light trim too. I think that's my favourite. Just gorgeous.

      this 40d is equal to f30 335d and 535d and 640d. It is basically the same twin turbo engine with same hp. 30d with twin turbo doesn't exist nevertheless they wrote twin turbo power on the engine cover :)

    Lane departure is like a failsafe warning system. It saves lives. Asking for it doesn't mean you can't drive. Asking for a reverse parking camera doesn't mean you can't park. It's just driving assistance aids which makes driving the car safer. No need to be so arrogant.

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton ปีที่แล้ว

      Its useless, dangerous, expensive to repair if it goes wrong, it is not needed by competent drivers and should never have been invented, thats my opinion whether arrogant or not, but you are entitled to yours. If you are the type of person who doesnt realise that you are departing from a lane and needs a buzzer, the steering wheel to shake, and the car to steer itself back into the lane that you are leaving then i respectfully suggest that driving is not your thing 😂

      @@BarrieCrampton lane assist helps reduce tiredness and fatigue over long distance journeys. That's a fact. You seem to have a huge ego and insecurity over your driving ability. Sorry about that.

      @@aerotus888 no need to be sorry, we have a difference of opinion, it doesn’t reduce tiredness or fatigue in fact it increases it keep fighting against your inputs, its nothing to do with ego just common sense, i put the car where i want not where it wants to go, its called being in control, lane assist is dangerous, sometimes something happens in front of you, a pedestrian steps out, cyclist turns, dog runs across the road,and you dont have time to indicate trying to avoid a collision, and the lane departure steers you back towards it, stupid idea, should not be fitted to cars

    I don’t agree with your comments about auto start stop, about it wearing out engine mountings, and ring gear? Etc, do you not think Bmw design engineers have thought about this? All these cars have strengthened parts to cope with SS, there’s no evidence whatsoever to support this other than your option! secondly this is not a 4 lt car it’s a 3lt with twin turbos,. The other point is the traction control being accidental turned off! Well I make a coffee every morning and put up it in my holder and over the past four years have never switched the tc off accidentally on my x5??? The reason why is you need to hold it down then confirm the commend, it is simply impossible to do it accidentally, again Bmw have thought about this before you.
    Another correction, it doesn’t have m sport suspension, it has adaptive suspension the same as the SE guise, just lower profile tyres which affect the ride over white lines.
    It’s a inaccurate review which really has quite a lot wrong with it…..and to be honest you kinda sound like a bitter middle aged man moaning about nothing, sorry!!

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If they have made the parts stronger they would have been better off leaving it at that, they would have helped towards global warming a lot more by having the parts last longer and not wearing them out with the incredibly stupid and dangerous stop start system, which often cuts out just as you are about to set off across on coming traffic or onto a roundabout, i know the parts are wearing out quicker because i pay for the reconditioning on the cars i sell, the batteries are also a lot dearer, the suspension is shit whatever it is, and coupled to the run flat tyres it makes the car noisy, harsh, bumpy and undrivable in my opinion, and you are entitled to yours, ps im 63 driven just about every car their is and i have forgotten more about cars than you will ever know, so if you don’t like what i have to say, just move on and don’t watch, middle aged man, ha does that mean i will live till im 126 😎 not a patch on a Range Rover, ps there is also the problem of liquid spillage, and such an important safety feature being situated next to two cup holders tells me that Bmw designers dont think at all, just like when they put their chocolate timing chain at the back of the engine costing owners thousands when they fail, and the swirl flap issue, and the body control unit issues, and the led lamps, etc, etc, etc

      BMW reliability v RR reliability?? Mmm interesting one….don’t expect to middle age man reaction to be honest!
      My dad once said to me shortly before he passed away “when we get older we are similar to fruit, we can either get bitter and go rotten or ripen and get sweeter”!
