When youre playing the A chord and then arent playing the riff... are you doing open hammer on Achords until G?

@@ivorsorefingers Thanks for the reply and thank you for all you do. Youre a terrific teacher! 9:30 is the exact moment Im referring to. Im struggling to figure out what youre doing after the 1st 3 strums of the A chord, maybe its just a neat little strum but it seems your fretting hand is contributing. I had thought a hammer but maybe a sort of mute? Sorry if that doesnt make the best sense, still newish.
