Dreyfuss takes no prisoners in that interview about studio's fault and his own performance. To imagine that a major film actor would say something like that in an interview today is next to impossible. Thanks for the episode!

True, it is hard to believe anything MOST actors say anymore because they are peddling some kind of narrative from their handlers. Actors and Actresses of old were personalities. Today they seem like robots and this definitely shows in their performances.

Jaws is one of the few times I liked the movie way more than the book.

Stunningly within 20 hours of my appeal our channel is back. We were confident that TH-cam would see that our channel was unique however we were shocked at how fast they got back with us, and we are very thankful for their efforts. I am especially grateful for your support. Love all of you out there, and now let's keep the content flowing.

@@CinemaGulp The TH-cam algorithm demonetized the channel siting reused content which can mean so many things, but mostly it means suspicious content, whether copied, not original, fast growth, uploading content too fast, etc. We were shut down yesterday morning and I made an appeal video and submitted it at 12:00 AM on the 6/21/24. We were back up within 8 hours when a live person at TH-cam checked out our channel.
It was a learning experience, and we lost a day of editing as we are doing the finishing touches on our Gremlins 2 vid. We still think we can release that video on the same day as Jaws part 4 but we will have to wait and see.

I’m glad you glossed over what you did, because I initially skipped these videos because I felt like I already knew the story of the film. Turns out I didn’t. Lol.

The scene after the head is discovered has the biggest plot hole in the entire film and that is when Hooper said he found a tooth but no mention of Gardner,s head

Jaws wasn't released here in Britain until December 26 1975, but didn't come down too my local cinema until July 1976

It was released early summer of 75 in America, but I was living in the Phillipines with my family (I was 10 and my dad was in the Air Force) and we didnt move back to the States until November 75. I had read the book earlier that year and I was dying to see the movie. By the time I finally saw it around Thanksgiving, I'd been told all about it by my friends who had all seen it at least a few times but I was still blown away and it's my favorite movie still to this day.

@@TH-cam-tied Great story and great memories. Jaws is good but its still not in my top 50 . I prefer British films from the 1950s up until the mid 1980.s. Another thing about Jaws I don't like is Richard Dreyfuss,s annoying performance, he's just a big headed know it all, Quint should have used him for shark bait.

People like to say that Star Wars was saved in editing when they try to talk shit about George Lucas.
But apparently, so was Jaws. It's amazing what a difference a really good editor makes.

I'm pretty sure someone already commented this for part 1 but this is a case where the movie was better than the book. There are so many improvements to the characters and streamlining of the story. The production, not just the logistical side of things but the politicking was actively trying to tear the movie apart. I said before that I've always loved documentaries like this, when physical media was given more love and attention I bought special editions. Even before streaming took over they were making less and less effort. Content creators like you are vital to make sure that younger generations realise what good movies were all about. This movie is older than me, but I grew up with it being on TV and even though not a traditional horror movie, watching it felt like a rite of passage. Not everyone had VCR's back in the day, we eventually got one. Part of that experience was sitting up late at night to watch it, with the lights off as to not disturb the neighbours. You weren't supposed to record it and watch it with the comfort of daylight.

I was lucky enough that my first viewing of this film was in 1978 at a Giesen, Germany post movie theater with my family. Like you I remember seeing it on TV often and whenever it came on I was glued to it.

I'm really grateful for this video. Jaws is a favorite of mine, I even got a new shirt for Father's Day, but I've never taken the time to dive into how it came to be like I have with other movies. This is very enjoyable.

The documentaries go into wild stories about pre-production. The nightmare shark, sex, politics making shooting difficult. Spielberg on the edge and so on. Glad you liked it, Chris.

JAWS is an absolute masterpiece as it's the first true summer blockbuster film. So many countless films have copied borrowed and stolen so much from what Steven Spielberg did. The book by Peter Benchley is good but the film adaptation is so much better without the mayor/mafia subplot and the Hooper/Mrs. Brody love affair subplot. Quint is one of my all time favorite film characters as Robert Shaw nailed it with the USS Indianapolis speech. So much turmoil went into the making of Jaws and through all that adversity we received one of the greatest pieces of art ever put to celluloid. Wonderful video my dude. Loved what you did with the Alien franchise recap videos. Keep up the excellent work!!!
