    Approx 26.30 If you are trying to hide evidence, you don't want to blow up a ship in space. Because those pieces will fly in a million different directions and will never stop traveling until they hit something. Easier to depose of a few bodies and a ship when all is in one piece. Also maybe the bad guys thought they could strip the cruiser for parts - they are capitalists.

    I think Luke going into exile was actually just Michael Arndt's script. I can't find anything pointing to that specifically actually coming from Lucas's treatments. Meanwhile, Arndt talked about not knowing what to do with Luke because he thought he'd just steal the spotlight from the new characters whenever he showed up, which I think is kind of silly, if he's the new Yoda, well, Yoda didn't really hijack the prequels, did he? If he's the Grandmaster rebuilding the Order, he doesn't need to be the guy doing everything. Yoda was the Grandmaster with an in tact order and wasn't the guy doing everything in the plot either.

    • @1000g2g3g4g800999
      @1000g2g3g4g800999 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, actually I guess there's Hidalgo saying such, but that's literally it, and he wasn't one of the people working on the script really. I think this is an instance of him misremembering information, because Arndt's own word makes it sound like he put Luke in exile because he didn't know what to do with him.

    The titular alien seems to act as an ambush hunter, actively avoiding it’s prey while herding it to it’s chosen ambush site. It has no need to move quickly though it is obviously capable of high speed and violence. It does this with Dallas, while Brett, Parker, and Lambert seem to be more chance encounters than true ambush- a hasty ambush if you will. It’s still obviously hunting the crew, as it seems to be stalking the ship not quite sure where the prey is, but still hunting. Brett is the only exception to this as it makes more sense the alien hadn’t quite finished growing- it was likely only a few hours after birth. This makes more sense to me than the alien being sickly or wanting to be left alone as an explanation for its behavior.

    I think the story makes more sense in the 2nd act than you give it credit for. Sure, it's odd that Anakin and Padme go from this awkward tense conversation in front of the current Queen of Naboo to having a good time frolicking in the fields, but you've got to remember that they do have a history together and like each other as people, so it's believable they apologized to each other offscreen or mutually decided to drop the issue and just enjoy each other's company and do some catching up after all these years. Padme is resisting Anakin yet puts on outfits to attract his attention because she has conflicted feelings. We saw back at the beginning of the movie that she was surprised at how he was now a handsome young man. He has become attractive to her. She's actively in denial of these feelings but still has them despite the times he's made her uncomfortable. Part of her wants that attention, especially because she has never had time for such relationships and hasn't had feelings for a boy since she was 12, yet she wants to focus on her work & doesn't want to get Anakin kicked out of the Jedi Order. You could say that the basis of her feelings for Anakin are shallow, but that's not unrealistic. She ignores all the red flags including his admission of the violent outburst against the Sand People (and will pay the price for it in the next film), but sadly that's not unrealistic either. After seeing Anakin at his most vulnerable, she who has always been compassionate cares about him more than ever, and desires to help him, like nursing an abandoned puppy back to health. While you could say it's reckless for them to be in an open field when there have been attempts on her life, there is the fact that Anakin is overconfident in his own abilities and is distracted from his duties somewhat by his infatuation with Padme, so I'd argue it's completely within his character. She herself, meanwhile, is putting her trust in Anakin's Jedi training and possibly trusts the planet's security forces to be able to detect any unauthorized ship landings or anything of that nature. They also know that while they're in hiding on Naboo Obi-Wan is busy investigating & Anakin in particular would have faith that his master would be able to prevent any further attacks. Palpatine, meanwhile, is pleased because she's out of his hair & can't vote against the creation of a Republic army, and he can later use Anakin's attachment to Padme to manipulate him, so he doesn't pursue killing her. Jango, the one tasked with getting rid of her, hasn't had time to track her down or come up with a new strategy when Obi-Wan unexpectedly shows up. These would be all the reasons why the couple is out in the open & why there are no more attempts on her life. As for the specific line, "I don't like sand. It's rough and coarse and irritating[...]" I don't have a problem with it, due to context. 1. He's a young man with no experience courting girls. Of course he's going to be awkward and stumble over his words (i.e. "I wish I could just...wish away these feelings") as he struggles to express himself. 2. The two are getting to know each other better than they did 10 years earlier. Of course they're going to bring up their pasts & express opinions about things. 3. This line is specifically in response to Padme bringing up sand on the beach and enjoying it. Anakin's line also contrasts with one of Padme's lines: "I love the water." "I don't like sand." About Kamino and the Clone Army, it's implied that the Jedi Sifo Dyas feared the Republic would crumble and things would descend into war or he even had a strong sense or vision through the Force that something bad was coming, so he ordered the clones, not bothering to get authorization from the Council or the Senate because he knew he'd never get it. Then Palpatine and Dooku found out somehow, perhaps Sifo confided in Dooku due to his history with the Order, then the Sith killed Sifo or he happened to die & they took advantage of the situation. It may also be that Sifo didn't order the clones but his death was taken advantage of or the Sith killed him and then Dooku ordered the clones under his name. The situation should've been explained a little more in the movies, but at least it's explored in the Clone Wars cartoon, though here I'm just working off information from the movie. We don't get full clear answers in this movie, but we get enough to have a basic idea of the conspiracy. And the Kaminoans weren't expecting Obi-Wan in particular and weren't necessarily expecting a visit on that particular day, they've just been waiting a long time for the Jedi to follow up on the order in general. Personally, I actually like what George did with the typo. Having Sidious pretend to be a Jedi and order the clones himself feels a little too simplistic. And in this very movie Dooku tells Obi-Wan the name of the Sith Lord he claims is in control of the Senate: Darth Sidious. If the Jedi still couldn't figure out a connection between a Jedi they've never heard of named Sido-Dios and the Sith they were told about named Sidious even after 3 years, they would look stupid to an extremely insane degree and many viewers at that point would feel like they deserve to die because they're too dumb to live. Making it more complex with the involvement of a real Jedi they knew of helps the conspiracy feel more realistic, and it doesn't make the Jedi look infinitely dumb in the process because they have no reason to suspect a Sith was involved in the clones' creation.

    The question of why didn't Anakin cut his padawan braid or cover it up if he's trying to go incognito is a good one. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that maybe according to tradition padawans are absolutely forbidden from removing it until they are officially knighted, and perhaps those uninitiated into the ways of the Jedi wouldn't know what it means anyway? Otherwise it is a minor plothole, I guess.

  • @alfredvickers4054

    I would defend the Zam Wessel thing about her not using her abilities by pointing out a couple things. First, she was behind the attempt on Padme's life on the landing platform. There was no explosive on the platform before they landed, so the explosive was in the ship, which suggests it was put there before they left Naboo. Which means she disguised herself as human to blend in and get access to the ship, possibly posing as one of the security team if she managed to get a uniform. Thus Zam did use her shapeshift ability in an assassination attempt offscreen. Second, she is not in her true form during this chase but in her human form, so if there were any witnesses they'd assume the assassin was human, and then Zam could change to her true form or another form and no one would suspect her, allowing her to escape. So she's already using her ability in this attempt on Padme's life as well. Third, she has no time to change clothing as she knows the Jedi are right on her tail. She is panicking and knows they'd sense her fear on her way out the entrance whether she changed shape or not, so she feels backed into a corner and strikes at her pursuers, and of course fails. So I don't have any issues with it.

    If you consider the Fery around this film, what we got is a minor miracle. imagine what we wouldve got if Fischer was allowed to do this thing.

    All the deleted scenes from the prequel trilogy make me wish all 6 films had 4 hour cuts.

      I could go for extended cuts on all of them.

    George Lucas is a genius. He even has subtle background stories like the alien racer bringing his family on a tour of the city, then he's excited to be in the big race, then he crashes and dies, then his family who was watching the race is mourning him. How many movies have subtle background stories like that? Also, the tourism thing reminds me of how in Empire Strikes Back you can see in the background of some shots a group of human children being led around the facility by a protocol droid, perhaps on a sort of school field trip. If that droid is their teacher, it's also loosely comparable to the classroom scene with Yoda and the Jedi younglings in Attack of the Clones. (Come to think of it, "Yoda and the Jedi Younglings" could be the name of a band. 😂)

    THE CHANNEL SAVED THE PREQUELS!!! They were a conscious or unconscious vision on how Lucas saw The Hollywood Republic and Separatist Guilds!

      @RepresentThis Sequel Trilogy feels like when we played Star Wars as kids and the story was literally made up on the fly in the backyard. Even if it was unconscious, Lucas had something to say and it just didn't come out of the ether

    I'll say this, you made me dislike the prequels slightly less.

    I enjoyed the prequels while growing up. But it was years between viewing each film, then years after I saw Ep III was when I first encountered prequel criticism/hate online. I fell for the bad representations because my memories had faded somewhat & knew little about the making of the films. I foolishly liked the Plinkett reviews for years. But eventually I watched the whole trilogy back to back, followed by the OT. I saw the prequels as a unit and saw them in context of the whole saga. I realized the plot and characters were good, actually, and George Lucas carefully crafted his story. I now have greater appreciation for Star Wars than I even had as a kid. I've also learned more about the behind the scenes. Literally every argument & claim in the Plinkett reviews is wrong. I think fewer people would fall for the lies if: 1. they actually watch the movies for themselves, 2. watch the prequels back to back as a single unit, and 3. researched the making of the Star Wars films. Too many people just don't bother.

      I completely agree with you. Today I can watch the Plinkett reviews for fun and I appreciate their humor and the effort they put into their review as it takes work to make such videos. For serious film analysis though I obviously have issues with them. There have been comments that I'm wrong and that the Plinkett reviews are taught in colleges as if it's the model of criticism which I wouldn't be surprised since it seems colleges really focus on singular views rather than a global outlook towards others and their opinions. Your advice for how to watch the films and do research is a good one. Hopefully people will learn the patience to avoid 10-minute research for in depth research to appreciate the depth of their pasts and the prequels.
