"Guys I will show you how to be real stealthy just let me go outside this space station to my really cool Eclipse ... without a helmet". Most trustworthy stealth pilot in the universe :)
the stealth system depends on the ship, fighters have size 1 radar, and mid-sized ships have sized two radar, I belive you multiply either Ir or E (whichever is higher) by .50 for ships with size one radar and that is how far away they will detect you, the size two radar is .75
@NANI @babylon4953 are both correct about the stealth gameplay. Your highest signature is what will get you detected, regardless of which. Only time it will play a difference is when they are using EM or IR missiles/torps as this may let your countermeasures become more effective. I play the Sabre line specifically built for bounty hunting with full stealth equipment. Also a side note, the QT drive and the coolers barely make a 100pt difference on your EM/IR, so run what you like more. There is another video on here (I cant remember at the moment) that explains in detail how stealth works. Simply put, if you target is a small-medium size, they will detect you at half the distance of your highest signature. Ex: your Highest is 5000 IR, thus they will see you at 2500m or 2.5km. I have been thinking of making a channel solely based on hunting targets down thru stealth only. Querrlers, Tarantulas and FL-xx cannons are your best friend.
Good vid bro, but those invisible asteroids are killers (10:32) But hey- got a quick tip for you; when that player came up on you (9:12) you weren't able to target him cuz you had your QT drive spun up, if you deactivated it you could then target him, given he was shooting with omni's Id guess he was possibly in a pirate gladius, but hard to say without targeting him
How to be stealthy. Dies from lack of oxygen. Jk great video mate :D I will say tho, i still think putting a VK-00 quantum drive is worth it, even for those 200'ish EM signature you gain. Because the stealth QT drives have 5-6 second spool time. The VK-00 has 1 second... That is HUGE for catching player bounties, it means you can already start warping to their next target, and be hidden there, before they even arrive. In my opinion a quick spool time is worth its weight in diamond. The only penalty to your stealth from that will be maybe 300 meters further detection range. If you're 300 meters closer to the enemy, you're too close anyway.
If you lower your shields to about 10 and then hit standby it will pwr them up quicker then letting them drop to zero and you will only register slightly higher EM.
You should also run stealth under power. Power consumption also generates IR and EM. Also you can even turn one of the coolers off. THAT is the max stealth one can achieve Also, dont look at the graph, look at the numbers. Also for detection, it will always be the highest one of the 2 (IR or EM) you have 4400 EM meaning that you should be detected at 2200m by a size 2 radar or 1500m for a size 1 radar.
Nope, 4400 emission means he could be detected at 2200 by S1 radar (50%) or at 3300 by S2 radar (75%). Theoretically also cross section signature counts but looks like it is not fully implemented.
The Typhoons are cross section which means it cannot be evaded using counter measures. You have to either outrun or outmaneuver it. PVE does not matter much but PVP against a skilled pilot it can make a difference.
EM or IR only count whichever is higher for your detection range, so your IR was the only relevant number, no need to worry about the lower one (EM) for you.
@@curveofsound 99% sure. Did a little testing with my buddy in space after some reading. I used a saber and him his harbinger. With his EM very high I could pick him up at 18k. With his EM lower the distance dropped to about 6K however no matter how far his EM dropped below his IR I picked him up at the same distance. Then He dropped his IR even lower and we seen another decrease to about 3.5k. My conclusion with that testing was the radar picks the highest signature for detection. Now missile tracking might be a whole different story. But radar detection is mostly what I tested.
You say pple don t know you re here, but, doesnt they as soon as u radar lock them? And also when you armed a torpedoe? I did some test with friends and they always get missile warning and then use decoys...I can t manage to hit any thing wich isn t NPC! Makes me crazy.
IX is Roman numerals for 9 JIC you didn't know. 1= I 2= II 3= III 4= IV 5= V 6=VI 7=VII 8= VIII 9=IX 10= X, there's more but just a reference for other folks.
Love my Eclipse. I'll deactivate the UEE satellite that monitors criminal activity in crusader and then just sit off the bow of PO and wait for little fishies to come by. 👍💯
Other TH-cam videos you watch isn't that great? They are doing it all wrong? Being all cocky and thinking you are that great. You better live up to your own hype. 1. It doesn't mather you if have really low EM if your IR is high. It's your highest value that effect your radar signature. 2. In 8:30 you can't jump because your being jammed by the enemy ship. 3. You can't understand why the enemies was quicker than you when you fly in 500ms? 4. You hit a freaking astroid. 5. You dont check if you have a clear line of site and waste a torp. I could go on and on.. YOU are doing it all wrong.
you forgot something. Locking reveals position to the locked target. So when he said "i'm totally stealthed right now" (while he locked 2min ago). It's a big nope. : )

nice video, you got a great sense of humor. Cheers, followed. keep it coming. Just picked up an eclipse... stoked

If only it didn't take 1hr for the ir to go down
I'm waiting for the anniversary sale, until then I'm loving my Sentinel. Oh, there called torpedo's not missles.
i thought stealth was only based on the highest number? your low EM would be ignored because of your high IR?
Is this true?

amazing. can we get this ship in-game
Yes
*cough* typhoon is almost 2xs faster *cough*
Lol not wearing your helmet in airlock because no ones ever done that, im glad for global chat as a reminder my helmets not on.
