Pragmatic and so true given the current game!
This ship is best used for coordinated strikes with fleets, you need to hit the defences hard and fast to let other secure what you need, can't loot if everythings dust.

I think the Eclipse would be awesome in large fleet battles. But even now its a legend, able to down any ship in the game!
This should be great for base raiding stealth fast and destructive bomber like b2 spirit but when using a MOAB it’s dust
I agree, the Eclipse is awesome at guerilla strikes and can slip in and out before anyone has time to make sense of what happened!

Tali is not stealth
@@Naeduen It is actually classed as a Stealth ship, just nowhere near as stealthy as the eclipse

Have you played the game? Most of these uses sound like something straight out of a lore page, literally only used for HRT VRHT and ERT and nothing else, you can dodge the 500 m/s size 9s with only thrusters on nearly every ship.
If you don't know it's coming thrusters don't help.
With the stealth on an eclipse you can practice dumb firing on a target. Not locking on gives the target no warning nor let's countermeasures work.
Great for unaware enemies

On a side note... The eclipse sucks, so does the retaliator.
Countermeasures coupled with torpedos with a low flight range and horrid maneuverability both the tali and the eclipse can have their torpedos dodged without counter measures by a stationary mountain
Torpedo gameplay is occasionally buggy, but the Eclipse has always been a beast; just look at JumpTown events and how effective they've been!
Soft death killed this ship's role. Can't loot when everything is obliterated.
Hunting cargo haulers with an eclipse is like trying to pick a lock with a hammer. Best to hit targets that can actually fight back
But that will change. Soft death is just a placeholder for how ships will have system failures. Ships exploding will become a rare event
Thankfully a lot of cargo still persists with soft death! But being able to down almost any ship in game will always be valuable!
People buying $50,000 ship bundles for a game that's still not released after 15 years. There's going to be psychological and economic studies done on this game, lol
