@@MelissaFreeman I actually love just saying 'Sorry, could I just ask you to go back to the front of the queue and I can call you forward in a few minutes.'

People really don’t understand everything that goes into banking....its A LOT. I recently started a job as a teller and my brain hurts by the end of the day 😂 Banks make it easy for the customers but there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes that the customers don’t know about.
Omg i haaaaaate when people think I'm flirting with them! Like no sir I'm just a nice person, don't get it twisted I'm just being nice don't make it weird lol🤣
I see this way too often when an Older (creepy) dude wants to push over his boundaries into a young female Bank Teller when I am waiting in line. I roll my eyes when this happens. I am 24 Year Old male and can sense this awkwardness.
The ID part is one of my biggest struggles. I am new teller and I get yelled at and insulted every time I ask for their ID. I see many people everyday and I can't remember them always especially being part time am not there always. Any tips on how to deal with rude customers like this? I like the bank , management , and my team but I can't take the rude treatment and am thinking about quitting but I am pregnant and can't afford being jobless or wait for another job. Please any tips to help me through with these rude customers?
Shane Lina you just remember that by asking for ID you’re just following procedure and doing your job. If they get rude I would simply say things like “I’m sorry Brenda I am just just trying to make sure I am giving the money to the correct person. I wouldn’t want someone come in and pretend to be you and me give your money away to the wrong person” once they realize you’re actual “protecting” them and have their best interest in mind then they change their tune. Otherwise if they’re simply just to hard to get along with I tell them they are more than welcome to wait in the persons like that knows them or speak to the manger on the issue. It’s hard not to say “kiss my ass I don’t get paid to deal with your BS” especially when pregnant 😂 but of course we can only do that after they leave!! Lol Working with the public can be hard! Hang in there
@@MelissaFreeman That's exactly what I tell them , and it's for their own protection but I get to hear their bs and how inconvenient it is for them. @@MelissaFreeman so imagine, I walk up to the bank and I want to deposit some cash. I give you the account details you enter the details and the amount. Off that can you see how much money I have saved up ?
“I know I need to have my ID but I need to update my address, withdraw 5K cash in hundreds only, and get my recent transactions, and I don’t have my ID”
Is it wrong to tip a bank teller? I tipped a bank teller with $50 today and she insisted why? For what! She was literally intending to give me back the money
I hope you can answer my question I ve been thinking of applying to become a bank teller and though it’s obvious you need basic math something about handling money scares like messing up what do you think it is something you build up? It that makes sense lol
DirtCheapBeautiful!!! You do have to be EXTREMELY attentive to detail with working with money at the bank. Just so you’re clear on the actual job counting money is just 1/2 of the job. You’ll be fixing problems with accounts all day, answers customers questions, ordering things they needs and doing research. If all of that sounds like fun to you then you can apply and just try to be super super cautious when counting etc. if you have an outage more than a few times you will be let go.
A business day is a day if the week that the business is open so Mon-Fri. An outage means you’re missing money. Just going by all of the questions you have asked in my banking videos I would suggest taking a couple basic courses at a community college for you. You do need to be a somewhat knowledgeable:intelligent person to do such a job. Do you have a high school diploma yet?
I worked at the bank for 3 & half years. Quit and now thinking to go back. I aslo want to open my TH-cam channel. I wasn't sure we were allowed to make videos like this. But I like your content & you have gained a subscriber.
I'm male, and yes I know that the female tellers in my local branch doesn't flirt. BUT, I'm the one who's flirting and they like it.. Next thing I know, she's also likes to have a short conversation with me.. And I don't mind if she is secretly upsell as long as her upsell meets my need.
100% agree with you! On the flip side…the teller asks “how’s your day going” then cuts you off with another question like I need your account number ( indicating to me you (( the teller)) could care less about my day)..totally get that you may HAVE to ask but at least pretend for 2 seconds and listen. Then ask for my information twbg
Is it possible for a credit union to tell you that you have an interview and right on the day before they tell you that they have hired someone with experience without interviewing you ?
Isaiah Felder yes that is possible! That just means they found someone bettering fitting for the job that they hit it off with immediately or they promoted within
I always wanted to know about the license!! I never asked but always was curious which now I know! These things I can’t believe happen too! My mom always told me to wash my hands because money is gross. I never didn’t think it was that gross, and thought she was exaggerating. But now I know. Idk what I’d do for the last one I think I would go to the bathroom immediately.
The other day I was cussed out because a guy wanted to cash a check but didn't have his ID. He didn't have it so I asked the other tellers and none of them knew him. I thought he was going going to go though the drive thru window at me. I am so tired of people raising hell about showing their ID. 🙄
this is so similar to what id say to people when I was a waitress! obviously different jobs haha but a lot of the same messages- like no I'm not flirting, no its not my fault if it takes awhile, a brainfart is normal haha
Adriana Olivia it definitely can be. When I switched to personal banker and then they ALSO needed me on the teller line i development IBS from the stress it was causing me
Melissa Freeman I could see that. I’m the only teller and I do other reports and overall it’s hard because I’m always stopping something to do something else, and I’m still expected to not make any mistakes, and just be the perfect teller but it’s sooo hard 😭 doing the work or 2 people for barely any pay lol also I feel like old men are the worst customers, also people always trying to get me to force put their checks in I’m like bro idk lol I’m just putting this through
Adriana Olivia I know girl. Although I can say when I was first starting as a teller I made over $14 and hour so I felt that was fair starting out. Maybe you can go to a different bank where they’ll pay you more AND you’ll have some help because that’s not fair to you or SAFE, as we know, for you to be the only teller.
@@MelissaFreeman I tried being a teller but it wasn't for me. Scanty training and being expected to immediately pick up on everything...am I the only one?
I would enjoy one of these videos from the EMT perspective. (I know your hubby is one). I'm not sure if h would get in trouble or not, but it would be a good PSA. Lol
I use to be a waitress and the stories I could tell you. Here’s one. A carnival was near to our restaurant. One of the workers came in and ordered the salad bar. He was covered from the tips of his fingers to his elbow, with black grease. It was so bad that there were little chunks of it stuck to the hairs on his arms. So, I was thinking of a way to stop him politely from going up there. It had a sneeze bar on it but he needed a body bar, so I said to him “you look exhausted, why don’t you tell me what you would like I’ll get it for you?” Mind you all the other customers were watching this. He says to me “no why do you think I ordered the salad bar? So no one is touching my food. I almost fell over. My other customers were upset 😡 to say the least and wanted the manager. They were mad at me because he was filthy and putting his arms over all that food. What a mess. It was disgusting. So so long. God Bless
My credit union needs to have a board meeting and watch this to see how a manager should be ...#RELAXEDANDDOWNTOEARTH then share this jank with allllll the members
Entertaining? Yes, you are! My husband loves to go down to the bank and "Flirt" with the girls they all love him. I call it going to see his girlfriends.....lol
Patricia Paquette 😂 yes we definitely had those men too! But those are just good company to have they don’t expect to actually go out on a date with you 😂 I love 97% of my clients!
how about having your account number.... most of the time clients complain that the transaction is taking too long. Well..... if you had your account number we wouldnt have to take the extra time to look it up . So if you want to get out of the bank fast have the dang number. Also, you want make a large withdrawal....(20,30,40k) you better call ahead. I dont know when this video was made but banks no longer keep that kind of cash on hand for one client. It needs to be ordered. AND if you do order it from a branch PLEASE have the decency to get the cash from that branch and not another one. Bank reps took the time to order for you and if you dont come and get it from where you order it from not only does it have to be reprepped and shipped back out but now you have thrown off the limits for the branch and that can lead to an audit breech.
Men don’t have a reputation for being stupid for no reason. It’s ridiculous hospitality and care is what you do in any service job when you are serving a customer so the fact that men think because you’re being kind that you’re into them is utterly ridiculous and stupid af.
Nobody does videos on normal sized savings tellers see? How much is a large amount to withdraw in cash? What kind of profession have large sums of money? The people that have large amounts of cash do they look like they have it? Maybe some insight on investing like real estate, stocks, car sales… other questions like when theft, counterfeit
M Muss lol you’re right! I had one old 60 year old man say “nice ass” when I turned around to go to the money counter 🤦🏼♀️ my coworkers had to duck down behind the counter and laugh. I started hiding in the back every time he came in

I can’t believe I haven’t watched this video yet lol. The license one is the main problem in our branch cause the town is soooo small... omg the belching, I hate when people burp and breathe out so hard thinking it won’t freakin stink.🙄🙄
Funny story...client came storming into the lobby upset that our drive up wouldn't cash her check because she refused to show her I.D. Even though we knew who she was inside, we refused to cash her check too. We didn't want to reward bad behavior. 😂
that first one is spot on someone has slipped me their number at least 10 times in the 3 years I've been a teller, That second one I tell people I do not make the rules I just follow the rules if they have a problem I will be happy to direct them to the manager.
You know what grossed me out when people lick their fingers and touch money or paper. That is so freakin nasty. Who wants to touch your saliva dollar bill ewww gross
OH MY GODD YES!!! 🤢 and the fact that they were basically liking the money by touching it then licking their fingers!! Lord have mercy I can’t deal 😂 that’s a really good one!

OMG!! I'm sorry you have to go through that sweetheart. Some clients are very rude. May be its because of Location difference. In my country usually the Bank teller are very very rude. The clients are not free to talk to the Bank teller, coz they gets angry for anything. Some teller looks at us as if we're asking their money.

@@MelissaFreeman so imagine, I walk up to the bank and I want to deposit some cash. I give you the account details you enter the details and the amount. Off that can you see how much money I have saved up ?
Zane K yes! The teller has access to any and all information you have at that bank.
“I know I need to have my ID but I need to update my address, withdraw 5K cash in hundreds only, and get my recent transactions, and I don’t have my ID”
😂
Haha! Daily!
I'll call the security 😂
Omg the last part was hilarious 😂😂
Is it wrong to tip a bank teller? I tipped a bank teller with $50 today and she insisted why? For what! She was literally intending to give me back the money
It’s actually against policy. If we take money we will be terminated 😬 I’m sure she was very appreciative of the kind gesture though!
@@MelissaFreeman omg I have to go the bank and apologize
No! I’m sure the teller thought it a very nice gesture. It’s not common knowledge to the public so you had no way of knowing!
Bank bribery act policies typically prevents this. Even though they could probably really use the money. Not allowed.
Thank you for replying!!! Definitely helps...
I’m over here screaming! HILARIOUS! 😀🤣🤣🤣
Girrrllll 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️😂
I worked at the bank for 3 & half years. Quit and now thinking to go back. I aslo want to open my TH-cam channel. I wasn't sure we were allowed to make videos like this. But I like your content & you have gained a subscriber.
I dont know if you’re allowed or not I had already left before making these
I came here for information left laughing 😂😂😂
Same lol!
Thank you you absolutely 100% right. .....
love this video, so entertaining. I still go to the bank so it was really interesting xx
I'm male, and yes I know that the female tellers in my local branch doesn't flirt. BUT, I'm the one who's flirting and they like it.. Next thing I know, she's also likes to have a short conversation with me.. And I don't mind if she is secretly upsell as long as her upsell meets my need.
You’re going to have to get a bit better grammar for me to understand what you’re saying
@@MelissaFreeman i'll just keep it to myself
100% agree with you! On the flip side…the teller asks “how’s your day going” then cuts you off with another question like I need your account number ( indicating to me you (( the teller)) could care less about my day)..totally get that you may HAVE to ask but at least pretend for 2 seconds and listen. Then ask for my information twbg
Oh wow that’s super rude. Maybe that teller was just having a hard day that day
Yes, check holds are not my fault!!!
Melody Bennett preach!!!
ahhh you’re so gorgeous!
Is it possible for a credit union to tell you that you have an interview and right on the day before they tell you that they have hired someone with experience without interviewing you ?
Isaiah Felder yes that is possible! That just means they found someone bettering fitting for the job that they hit it off with immediately or they promoted within
@@MelissaFreeman So Just keep applying to a different branches of banks and what is the difference between a trainer and a teller
Isaiah Felder yes!
Bubbles yes money is sooo soo gross!!
The other day I was cussed out because a guy wanted to cash a check but didn't have his ID. He didn't have it so I asked the other tellers and none of them knew him. I thought he was going going to go though the drive thru window at me. I am so tired of people raising hell about showing their ID. 🙄
I’ve had that happen many times! Had one license thrown at my face by a man also
I could make a whole video ranting about stuff like this I'm glad I found your video
sounds like my life everyday... 😭😭😂😂
Laura Byrd LOL!! Lies!!!
haha I don't do any of this, but dear gawddd these customers..🙄😏😩😣😭😂
this is so similar to what id say to people when I was a waitress! obviously different jobs haha but a lot of the same messages- like no I'm not flirting, no its not my fault if it takes awhile, a brainfart is normal haha
maybe even call ahead if you are interested in withdrawing large sums, especially in smaller banks
This 👏🏼👏🏼
I used to be a teller so I can agree lol 😂
Amen!
😂😂 girl you are so funny! I love these videos.
Selena Bostick thank you Selena!!!
Thats why I use cashiers checks and money orders in separate envelopes
Being a bank teller is one of the most stressful jobs I have ever had tbh
Melissa Freeman bank life is just a hard life 😭
@@MelissaFreeman I tried being a teller but it wasn't for me. Scanty training and being expected to immediately pick up on everything...am I the only one?
I would enjoy one of these videos from the EMT perspective. (I know your hubby is one). I'm not sure if h would get in trouble or not, but it would be a good PSA. Lol
Ashley June my husband is not a video maker! Sorry!
YES great idea
Thank you for this video.
Thank you for watching!!!
So so long. God Bless
Dianna Bloom eewww!! Yes i was a waitress for years before banking!
Youve made me less nervous 🤣👍🏻 thank you
Good!!
My credit union needs to have a board meeting and watch this to see how a manager should be ...#RELAXEDANDDOWNTOEARTH then share this jank with allllll the members
LOL!!!
Oh wow. People need to learn some manners. You should do another video like this!
Heather & Baby Lillia Plus Family working with the public is no joke girl! Never know what you’re day will be like lol
I had a teller one hour interview two days ago. I’m waiting...
Awesome!!
You assume they love it
how about having your account number.... most of the time clients complain that the transaction is taking too long. Well..... if you had your account number we wouldnt have to take the extra time to look it up .
Period 👏🏼
Men don’t have a reputation for being stupid for no reason. It’s ridiculous hospitality and care is what you do in any service job when you are serving a customer so the fact that men think because you’re being kind that you’re into them is utterly ridiculous and stupid af.
And a whole AMEN to that!!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Huh?
Oh my God this was so interesting girl thank you for sharing LOL
*HAHAHA SO TRUE* 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol! Sorry that you can relate 😂 bless you if your work with the public also. You’re a superhero 🤣
*We sure are* 💋
You are very pleasant and your accent is adorable. I see why dudes would think ur flirting lol
cabexadecuete lmao BYE!
M Muss I wish they did.
M Muss no we’re not allowed to say much. We can say, I’m not interested and things like that but that literally doesn’t stop them!
M Muss lol you’re right! I had one old 60 year old man say “nice ass” when I turned around to go to the money counter 🤦🏼♀️ my coworkers had to duck down behind the counter and laugh. I started hiding in the back every time he came in
Great Videos🤗 these are all true but there is 1 thing that disgusts me so much😒 When the clients spits (w/ buggers and all) to count the money just before they hand it to you🙄🤢🤮
Johanna de la Roca ahhh omg BARFFF 😂😂 I cannot!
Oh gosh
Great video 😍😍😍
Stripper money. I have unfortunately had to handle it. Thankfully we wear gloves because of Covid now 😂
lol yep!!
So true.
Yes!!
Omg Melissa literally every one of these is sooooo true #preachsister #facts
Carlo St. James lol 🙌🏼
Very True!!!!!!
The bank works for me
Ok period
that first one is spot on someone has slipped me their number at least 10 times in the 3 years I've been a teller, That second one I tell people I do not make the rules I just follow the rules if they have a problem I will be happy to direct them to the manager.
Call me Poetic yep! And then the manager says the same exact thing #win ! Lol
I just smile and ask if they are ready LOL @@MelissaFreeman
You know what grossed me out when people lick their fingers and touch money or paper. That is so freakin nasty. Who wants to touch your saliva dollar bill ewww gross
OH MY GODD YES!!! 🤢 and the fact that they were basically liking the money by touching it then licking their fingers!! Lord have mercy I can’t deal 😂 that’s a really good one!
Love you accent. You should were rubber gloves. You are a riot!
Me: “do you know tour account number?”
Member: “no”
Me: “do you have a debit card ?”
Member: “no”
Me: “license”
Member “no”
Ask for their name, type it in and there’s multiple people and accounts under that name .
Me:” asks for birthdate”
Member” ARE YOU KIDDING ME !!?!??”
lol!!! So true
you made me laugh so hard
music central 1 look I’m so glad!!
What is y’all starting pay to be a teller
There’s no answer for this. Too many factors involved.
OMG!! I'm sorry you have to go through that sweetheart. Some clients are very rude. May be its because of Location difference. In my country usually the Bank teller are very very rude. The clients are not free to talk to the Bank teller, coz they gets angry for anything. Some teller looks at us as if we're asking their money.
Tovikali Chishi oh no 😨 that’s terrible. We have the friendliest tellers in the south
Melissa Freeman!! Yes, its damn terrible. Its quite opposite for us 😢
Melissa Freeman don't worry about them people
Gosh this is me everyday, I’m a teller and really want to quit 😩
Shanay Dee how long have your been a teller?
For 3 years and I’m ready for something new
Shanay Dee maybe you can move into a different position. If not, with banking experience you can get several other types of jobs!!
@ 7:46
I'm done 🤣😂🤣
Okay but the one that got her mouth spit in is okay and thriving 😂😂😂
O lord that list but about the close customers burping and farting. I’m thinking of holstering Lysol disinfectant spray on the ready.
Lol
Asks for members debit card to look them up because they didn’t know their account # and they called corporate to complain about me lol
I'm officially disgusted with people 😨 Why do people think it's ok the behave like this?!!! I'm sorry for any public employee who has had to handle butt crack money or been burped in the face. What is wrong with people?! Fortunately I've never done any of the things in this video so I'm a stellar bank client🥇lol. ❤😊
Rene Daniels lol!! Girl it takes all kinds!!
I would imagine the vast majority of the customers haven’t either. I think what’s going on here is they take a few times this happened and act as if it happens every day. That’s how TH-cam works.
Save your moral outage for things that matter.
It was something that happens everyday, unfortunately!
@@MelissaFreeman people farted at you everyday?
I feel miserable being a teller. I literally think about clocking in the next day. Tired of dealing with people that think it’s okay to dehumanize you to the nearest atom. I could only imagine how much more f*cked this world is.
It’s not for everyone that’s for sure. I actually left banking all together! I’m a librarian now and love it
Update, I no longer work there and now I am finally happy😭😭😭😭 after almost 2 long years
#2 is aptly named.
ONLY IN America
+R A that is nice
I love your charisma! 👋 hello from arkansas!
marialovesmusicalot thank you!! I hope y’all are having cooler weather there then we are!!!
Melissa, have you considered doing standup comedy?
David Schmiedeberg only for my friends. I’m way too inappropriate for the world 💀
Love this! So true!!!!!! I just started as a teller :))))))
lol just be as patient as possible!!
My bank has bullet proof glass between us and the teller
Yeah the banks in smaller towns don’t usually have the BR glass. It would be great for everyone to have though!
Melissa Freeman BOA in Conroe Tx does .They got tied of being robbed
#TruthSerum😆😂🥰❤️
