I do think going after the narrative bit of him killing Penny in the first place bc the next Volume didn't go over it properly is a bit misplaced bc V9 doesn't follow up properly due to its own issues by way of their need to prioritize with the budget (which I do think is a weak excuse for something this necessary to cover not being prioritized especially because even just a single line of dialogue would've helped) and it isn't V8's set up fault for it. She *does* know but it's not properly shown and if you were to just go off of what the show gave us and not know about CRWBY talking about how it was handled, you would not know she knows because it is not portrayed like she does.
