I think this MV also signifies the messed up reality of social media and how it potrays lives as perfecct when everyone is really j struggling in real life.
Like Shuhua and yuqi work in a store but they borrow branded things from miyeon to post and pose on insta. so when they are at a party, they secretly look at those better off than them and feel jealous
Soyeon looks at yuqi w branded things in pics and envies her. she looks at Miyeon's posts and thinks if she was as pretty as her maybe she'd get to have fun and have friends too (the girls night out ref)
Miyeon is extremely pretty and rich and has good friends but craves her boyfriend's attention. She feels she's not enough and that's why her bf left her for minnie who's prettier and more confident and hence she tries to copy everything Minnie does (the exercise part after watching her on tv ref)
And minnie on the other hand has a bf, has social media reputation, is an influencer and is extremely confident (or acts like it) but feels an empty void inside (her looking at the friend grp at the start of the vid) or (her starin of into the crowd of party people at the end of the vid as if she's lonely and is alone j after the shot with her bf)
Everyone is messed up in some way but acts like they aren't. it's kind of like even those whom you envy are jealous of someone else

In fact, (G)I-DLE released a song with lyrics that are very relevant these days. I know this from my own experience. I've been very insecure lately. And this song is like a breath of fresh air for me. I think I'm starting to understand again why (G)I-DLE is my favorite group. I love them, I love Soyeon, who is so wise in her 25 years. Thank you (G)I-DLE and thank you for your reaction! Love yourself, love (G)I-DLE💜♥️
What I find really interesting about the video is how all of them are jealous of each other for different reasons. They’re all coveting something about the other person without realizing they also have something that person would desire as well.

yeah... Minnie has the fame and the boys, but longs for real friends... Miyeon is pretty and has friends, but desired Minnie's fame... Yuqi and Shuhua are best friends, but Shuhua has other friends, which makes Yuqi jealous, meanwhile Shuhua (and Yuqi i guess too) are shown poor, working for the lingerie store, and desire money and boys... at last, Soyeon, who is talented and seemingly free in some scenes, just desires beauty of all her friends, so much that shes willing to get a 10k plastic surgery... really well written music video!

Notice when Soyeon runs out of the plastic surgeons office and meets her Ideal Self (Minnie), glasses aside the only difference in their outfits is Soyeon is wearing a huge Cross necklace and Minnie (her perfected version and the top of the modern day food chain) is wearing a large gold Pentagram. There is a lot of other symbolism in this as well but I haven’t seen anyone talk about it so I’ll put it here

Soyeon- supposed to be a "nerdy" insecure girl who feels like shes different then others her age
Miyeon- a influencer who just went through a breakup and is now seeing another girl (minnie) with her ex happy together, she wonders if shes not pretty enough to be loved in a happy relationship despite everyone online saying she is. probably seeking validation through her social media and is putting on a fake happy, confident act in photos but in reality shes sad and insecure like how soyeon looks at her photos on instagram and feels sad but when the camera goes to the party miyeon is sitting on the floor while her ex and minnie are flirting. all miyeon wants is love and she seeks that through the fake persona she has on social media
yuqi- I think yuqi is envious of miyeon and wish she had what she has and doesnt understand how someone like miyeon who has everything- clothes, beauty, money could feel insecure yuqi wishes she was like her just like the lyrics yuqi is insecure of the other popular girls trio and probably wants miyeon, shuhua and her to be like that. im not sure but I think when yuqi is looking at the girls in the bathroom one of them might be shuhua so I think she also feels left out and not good enough or something
yuqi and shuhua - they both try to get makeup and clothes to feel pretty cool but in the end people arent choosing them.
Minnie- i think shes supposed to represent someone whos an influencer and popular girl but she actually feels dull and lonely u see her looking at the other groups of people meanwhile shes just sitting there with her phone with her online followers that all just feel meaningless. i think she tries to find love but in the end it doesnt work out and she still feels the same like how the boy is with her at one point at the party but then shes alone
each of them is looking at someone else and wishes they were like them but in the end even the people they are looking up to arent happy. i think the main thing its showing is that everyone wants to feel loved/liked and even tho people say they love them and that they are pretty and all that it doesnt matter because they dont feel that way about themselves. each of them have something that makes them insecure bcus of someone else
as a 17year old I relate to all of the lyrics so much its honestly crazy they released this rn while im probably at my lowest. The lyrics in the verses where its talking about the world moving on without them, and other teens being mature cus like I feel so behind in my teenage years bcus of covid yet i see kids my age like acting like highschoolers (online but its most offline like irl thats bothering me bcus i know how fake things on social media can be) when i still feel like I just finished 8th grade (when covid started for me and now im ending junior year) I feel so behind in my years like as if my time has stopped but everyone else around me it seems like was able to keep moving. plus ive always been really insecure and lately its been worse i've just felt very alone and depressed and everything so just overall this song's lyrics hit. I wonder if like the title track might start off where this mv ended like with her waking up out of surgery a new person but maybe not either way im excited with the album title being "I feel" it makes sense now (i dont like watching teasers cus they give too much away so i had no idea how this album would be)

This MV and friend group dynamic is basically mean girls in a nutshell, yes they're friends but they're not ACTUALLY close. The reason why they keep Soyeon insecure is because they're also insecure, and they need to feel better than her, because you don't wanna be inferior to EVERYONE, you know? They already feel inferior to the other girls in the friend group, so Soyeon is kinda the glue keeping them together unfortunately, even if its for a bad reason.
Tbh, this song is so meaningful especially for Soyeon… she was BROKEN by the people before when she’s literally just 17 years old! Being called ugly and and them saying that she doesn’t fit to be an idol because of her looks and everything… it’s just sad that a 17 year old girl back then is being brutally bullied by people 🤦🏽♂️
You know! Soyeon is a big fan of anime like she actually collects manga...so she might be also referencing that with paper airplane scene
Soyeon envies Yuqi, who envies Shuhua, who envies Miyeon, who envies Minnie, who finds herself on top but in the end is not happy either, alone at the bar...while Soyeon is finally happy, dancing in her room with an oldschool walkman, without internet and toxic social networks, getting rid of the lesson to become a queen.

@@kpop_4yuna They seem to work in the same clothes shop, but at the end of M/V, at the party, we can see Yuqi secretly looking at Shuhua while she's in the in the restrooms with the two other girls.
Note : all I said is not an explanation, it's just what I think, but only Soyeon really know all the true story 😉
Soyeon is the awkward teenager, Miyeon is the one who is perfect and rich but thinks she is ugly because she keeps getting dumped and compares herself to social media, Yuqi and Shuhua is seen as rich on social media because she steals Miyeons clothes but she works at a clothing shop, Minnie is at the top because she’s pretty, rich, stole Miyeon’s bf but is actually still lonely. Soyeon is actually the happiest out of all 5 of these people, so Minnie wears exactly what Soyeon wears.
So, my interpretation of the video is this: Minnie and Soyeon represent the same girl at different times…
The video starts with Minnie looking sad at her phone texting. She looks up and sees a shop . We then jump to a flashback of Soyeon Feeling insecure and ends up at the shop Minnie was just looking at. The shop employees Yuqi and Shuhua try to help her but she inevitably still feels insecure. We see a new scene of Miyeon being heartbroken that she is being broken up with and wondering if she wasn’t pretty enough. Her friends try to console her. That scene is also in the past but, in the future from Soyeon’s scenes… then Soyeon goes to the plastic surgeons with a picture that is a blend of Yuqi,Shuhua,and Miyeon hoping to look like Minnie…as she leaves the doctors she sees “Minnie” which is why they are dressed identically in that scene. At the end Soyeon goes in for the surgery resulting in her becoming Minnie . I think the rest of the album will be her initial high of getting exactly all the attention she always wanted, then feeling empty, and ultimately ( hopefully) learning to accept herself for who she is flaws and all.
I actually teared up at the end when Soyeon was being pushed to the operating theatre.

I wonder how they gonna change the narrative in title track. Saying plastic surgery is wrong would fly in the face that Soyeon got some herself irl. I feel they can play it off as that you don't need to get it to be a queen, but you can choose to get it as long as you are confident in your decision and not doing it to fit in
Soyeon never does any surgery, just purely makeup. She looks the same as to her childhood photos when she’s not wearing any makeup.

@@anthonytoo Yep. Came out sometime yesterday. It didn't show in my youtube feed and had to go to their channel when I heard others say it was out. I'm eagerly awaiting Babymon as well and their process was hard in its own way, but man I do think one thing they were lucky on is not having to vote each other out of teams as much as XG process has.
