I’ll be playing this ball , thank you . I already game Wilson v6 irons , Wilson is straight class quality
Thank you!
Great review!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for an awesome and informative video. I really appreciate you and I'll definitely try a dozen of these Wilson golf balls.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the great review of the Triad! I can echo your review and findings of the performance as I’ve been gaming the ball since April of this year. Around the green it’s fantastic and have finally been able to break 90 fairly often with the help of your videos and the Wilson Triad. Keep up the great work and thoroughly enjoy your channel Mistah Short Hitter!!
Glad I could help! I appreciate you watching!
I played the Triad this Memorial Day for a three day golf outing. It surprised me on how well it performed. Strong recommendation!
Thank you! I was surprised how well it performed.
@@mistahshorthitter I really liked how the Triad rewards crisp irons shots - it instantly gives the feedback of when you're missed it versus striking it well. Great wind ball.
Putting this ball on the list. Will try it for sure. Thanks for the info.
Thank you!
MSH,
I played three rounds with the Triad. I was surprised on how many different types of shots I was able to hit with it. Looks like it will now be my call of choice for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for the video.
It's a good ball for sure!
Looking forward to trying the Triad!
Thank you Steve!
Thanks for the video! I just got some q star tour on sale and want to try the Wilson triad as well. Was playing snell prime some as well.
Glad it was helpful!
Your videos continue to get better. I enjoy them a lot. I watched your video on the Cleveland hy-wood and I now game them. I found out that Cleveland will have two hy-woods coming out next year. A 17 degree and a 20 degree and if I saw the specs right, a little larger head.
I really appreciate it! I'm working hard to bring good content and a lot of it!
This is my gamer ball! I also like the Wilson Zip! Thanks for the 4 hybrid numbers, many of us old guys play hybrids off the tee. Thanks for the review!
You bet! Thank you!
The Triad is one of my favorite balls. Feels a bit softer than a Pro V1 without giving up any spin with the short irons. I also putt really well with it.
Thank you for watching!
Being in the North East, our season is winding down rapidly, but I may have to try out that Triad before the freezing temps arrive. Good video.
Thank you! Definitely a ball worth a try!
Great test, Mr Straight Hitter!
Thank you for watching!
Kirk-camera did a nice job of capturing your play at dusk. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
i just switched this season to this ball and really enjoy it and it is my main ball now. I used to play the srixon ball.
It is a very good ball!
Ordered the Triad thanks for the info
Thank you!
@@mistahshorthitter just worried the 86 compression may be a little hard for my 85 mph swing
@@BruceOglevie I think you will like it
Thanks for the Triad ball review. I have not found any while out playing. But may have buy a dozen.
Thank you Mike!
I have been using the TRIAD since it came out. Rick Shiels and James Robinson love it. BTW, I still have my WILSON 'Ball Hawk Six' glove from when I was 9. I'm now 68.
Thank you!
I like your style! And I dig the jazz!
I’m also liking the Wilson Triad. Seems like it might be the best mid priced ball on the market. $35/dozen is a lot better than $50/dozen!
Thank you so much!!
it seems to have really good comparative numbers for slow swing speeds also. A really good ball across the spectrum. I love your videos.
I appreciate you!
The flight window of that hybrid you hit on the par three looked perfect. Now that’s how a hybrid shot should fly. 👍
Thank you so much!
Interesting review MSH. "Hit'em straight "
Thank you Arnold!
Great video. I got "fit" into this ball based on my launch parameters and was looking for some real world opinion.
Thank you!
Nice review.....I have never tried that ball before. Have you ever reviewed the Costco ball?
Yes, I reviewed that about a year ago. Here is the link th-cam.com/video/Z8pmAOMEmFU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=x43DpzwbuTLuelNM thank you!
I'm curious, meaning I will try them
Thank you!
Fantastic review! Always looking for good alternatives for less $. Currently playing Z-Star myself and it's a tough ball to move away from, but I like tinkering. Will give the Triad a go just for fun. Who knows, I may prefer it.
Good luck!
@@mistahshorthitter Thanks. I've been teetering on the Triad for months now. Was killing time this morning watching some reviews and saw yours. Ran out and bought a dozen this afternoon. Teeing them up tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks again for all the great content. Love your vibe. Don't know you but know I'd enjoy a round with you for sure. Keep up the great work!
I appreciate it! I currently also play the Zstar but I was really happy with the Triad.
Triad’s my go to gamer. People think I’m crazy… until we play a few holes.
Great choice! Thank you for watching!
That aproach shot on 1 seemed straight as all heck.
Thank you!
great video! would you say it's as spinny as a z-star?
It's hard to say because I haven't hit it in awhile. If I had to guess I would say close.
Very interesting figures . Is there a big difference in cost? Not seen the Triad for sale out here in Thailand.
Triad is about $15 cheaper than the ProV1. Thank you for watching!
enjoyed the video excellent play even in the dark how about your new song?
Which new song? The one for the other TH-camr I'm waiting on him to give me the thumbs up.
Great video, did the triad have any scuff marks?
None at all.
Have you ever done a review on the taylormade distance + i like youre reviews and look forward too see if you do one on the taylormade distance +
I have not but I picked some up and will do it in the coming weeks. Thank you!
triad,z-star and chrome soft all the same. at my local range the coaches and players all told me the triad was not a premium ball because it said wilson on it. i was saying how good it felt with putting etc , i ended up buying a z -star ,chrome soft and v1 to test . i found the triad ,z star and chrome soft are the exact same ball pretty much. the v1 was harder feeling. so iam sticking with the triads as i got great results when putting.
Thank you!
I had played some of the Wilson DUO in the past. Even though they had excellent short game spin, the ProV flew farther with the driver. Can you hit the Triad vs ProV side by side on course?
I can do that. Thank you Jesse!
Played that ball in yellow a few rounds this summer. It’s a good ball. Still prefer my Bridgestone RB x
Thank you for watching!
Isn't it strange how much feel affects golfers? I tried the Triad, and liked it very much off the longer shots and irons. But I found it incredibly soft and like you I had zero feel on the short game. My putting was woeful and I'm normally a very good putter. I didn't have a clue on the short game, so I went back to playing the Wilson Staff ball.
Yes, it is! I'm glad I wasn't imagining the softness with the short shots. Thank you Graham!
No problem with filming “in the dark”, the images were good enough. The TRIAD was marketed as a ball to straighten shots - did you notice any improvement in flight?
That is so very hard to tell. I may play around with it again or try to put together another video looking at that. Thank you!
"little better, I think" as he almost dunks lol
😂😂
The big claim Wilson is making with this ball is how straight it hits and tight dispersion. What are your thoughts on that?
There's no way of determining that without a robot unfortunately
Golf equipment is a lot of marketing and nothing more. When you break it down to bare stats....launches, spins, peaks, carries, speeds......Titleist/Taylormade/Wilson/Mizuno/ETC....they are all comparable in the end. What gets people to buy one over the other comes down to MONEY. What company is willing to spend the most money to create cool marketing and what company is willing to shell out BIG MONEY to lure a PGA pro to use their ball/clubs/bags/hats so the average golfer will see the pro and the equipment they use. Me personally, I game all Wilson. Wilson drivers, Wilson irons, Wilson balls, Wilson wedges. Why....because they perform exactly like a Titleist/TMade/Cobra, but are a bit cheaper. So more money in my pocket for beers.
Thank you for watching!
That’s just patently false.
@@lawbinson explain?
@@JasonNortwich For instance, look up Ballnamic. There's a lot of research by Ping (who is an impartial company as they don't make a ball themselves) into how each ball performs as well as aerodynamics. Ball fitting is important when it comes to lower scores as even a different model of prov1 for example can introduce very different dynamics from a launch, peak height, ball speed, and spin in both the long and short game. There is also a feel aspect to be considered.
Urethane cover vs Ionomer is a massive difference. If you want to hit short shots around the green with ideal spin and launch, you'll need a Urethane ball.
Does everyone need to play the most premium ball or a specific brand? No. But, they should find one that fits their game and price range if they want to lower their scores.
There is definitely marketing. But that's why these tests are important, to separate the marketing from the truth. And these tests often find there can be significant differences. This particular test just happens to show two balls that are very similar for one Mr. Short hitter. With a high speed player or someone else with a different delivery pattern, it may change. Hope that helps. Cheers
Just to add a little to the discussion it is extremely rare for a ball to perform this closely to the ProV1 for me. Even in this brief test there were still differences in launch angle. If you look at some of my reviews for instance Kirkland which is also a Urethane covered ball you will see vastly different performance numbers. I do understand the initial point. Marketing dollars has a large effect on purchasing decisions consumers make. However, manufacturers like Titleist have the tightest tolerances in golf primarily due to money. There is no way a smaller company can spend the same dollars as Titleist to make sure every ball coming off the line has the exact (within tolerances) specifications as the first. Due to costs I can only test the box I purchase and can't speak on differences someone who purchases a different box may encounter. Thank you both for watching and supporting my efforts.
On the putting ? First thing first….
I'm confused
I usually play the Z Star as well but seen a review of it on another channel so thought I'd give it a try. I played the Triad this weekend and was impressed. Also they are $10.00 + less expensive than the ZStar and the price v 1
Thank you!!
