@Mathews-VXR aka_James Key dude, really?! I respect your opinion, but I don’t have time to debate someone with Mathews vxr in their username. You can’t be unbiased and look at it right.
The Ventum on the longest setting of the short module, 28 inches, averaged about 6 fps faster than then the shortest setting on the long module, 28.5 inches. Counter intuitive? Yes, until you figure what side of the cams they fall on. The shorter mod is slightly stiffer to draw.
I like the idea that you compared actual drawings lengths. I wish you would have used a whisker biscuit on the Hoyt as well. That is a variable you could have controlled in the test. This was still a overall good video. I got burned by Bear with the draw length issue. I'm a 27 inch draw length. I bought a bear bow that goes down to 27. It's too long in the draw and doesn't let me anchor very well. That was an expensive lesson to learn about draw lengths and inflated IBOs.
Hoyt should be as good as a Mathews and Mathews should be as good as the hoyt.. they are both amazing bows. Anyone who can't agree with that is unreasonable. And you'll never agree with them unless you only agree 100 % with them.
Looked at the Ventum 33 last weekend. Looking closely at the rear cam, between it and the limbs, I could see some bare axle in there. The little bushings in between just sort of flopped around in there. No thanks.
Definitely not apples to apples if you are concerned about fractions of an inch draw length differences, but allow multiple pound draw weight differences.
Appreciate the comparison and the info! I actually just had to make that decision yesterday and went Hoyt (I'm coming from a Defiant from a few years ago). Mathews was very tempting but it did feel like the Hoyt was a little smoother and easier to draw. The back wall has definitely improved as well but in all fairness the Mathews back wall was unreal (edge to Mathews)! Compromises! Now to research sights and rests while my bow arrives. Thanks again!
@@PMOUTDOORS24 yeah it’d be cool to shoot the Evoke 31 setup the same with the same DL, arrow, and through the same chrono against these other “342 IBO” bows. I have a pretty good idea what the outcome would be.😬

I’m a mathews guy but I agree with you. I personally think when they switched to the switch weight mods they had to compromise on draw smoothness especially in the 70 and 75 lb mods. I think they’re incredibly stiff at my draw length but they’re still nice bows. I haven’t personally bought one since they moved to the switch weight mods mainly bc of the stiffness. I agree that they both should have a drop away. But I’m at the mercy of what the shop puts on the bows. The test basically shows that the bows are shooting the same. Which shows that if you did match them perfectly they would be the same or maybe a 1-2fps different
@@PMOUTDOORS24 soo odd everyone’s chrono seems to be diff. I think they are good for comparative purposes but some most read diff than others because I’ve seen both the bows put out 290’s with 420 grain arrows but usually 29 inch draw. I don’t how big of a diff that makes
@@hunt2hook712 you got it right man. The 2 chronos at the shop can be over 5fps different at times. It’s nice for comparison, but everyone’s will read different. Especially in different lighting as well

I had full intentions on buying the ventum 33 until I saw it, the finish work is awful, the top Cam lean is ridiculous and it looks exactly like the spider of nine or 10 years ago, with that being said, it does shoot good, I just couldn’t get over how damn ugly the thing is.
@@downriverfishing3639 not at all actually I just bought a new Bowtech.
