Don't get me wrong I like my RX5 but I loved my Spyder. Nothing compares to it imo. If you buy a new bow fine but keep your Spyder
I have a rx4 turbo at 28” #2 cam and I find it was most solid out of all last years bows, very hard back wall and draw cycle is smooth. since they don’t have a turbo this year I wonder what your thoughts on it are. Thank you for another good bow review!
I must have gotten a lemon when I purchased the ventum 30 I really loved the draw cycle but the bow could not be squared up without having the shaft of the arrow to close to the riser, the shop I bought the bow from said it was fine that the tip of the arrow 1-1/2" out of square was good as long as it paper tunes. My OCD wouldn't allow me to get past the issue so I went with the v3
There is no way your shop set your bow up correctly. I just set up my Ventum 33 and it went like this... set arrow down the berger hole and exactly center shot using a laser. Paper tuned showed a fuzz high and right tear. Moved the top cam to the right (swapped the shims). Moved the rest a fraction down. Paper tune now centered up/down but 1/2 of the right tear still present. Moved the rest 1/32 of and inch right. Paper tune shoots a repeatable PERFECT bullet hole with a bare shaft. I shot a dozen bare shaft arrows all perfect. Just for giggles I checked the center shot again with my laser and it is absolutely perfect down the center of the shaft. I have never set up a bow that tuned this good.
@@davidruth1 I think you're right. I asked them before driving 2 hrs. If they had the shim kit , they told me they had different shims and when I got there they didn't have them,.. this was my third trip to this shop and after spending $1600 for everything I felt like it shouldn't have had any issues, so I returned it and bought a Mathews and although it has a harsher draw cycle it tuned with zero issues.
@@chethans7491 that shop was wrong. Hoyt released a specific shim kit and shim tool for the new flagships and a tuning chart with specified combinations of spacers. They shouldve shimmed it over according to whatever tear you had.
Speeds we’re definitely on the slow side. Noticed the limbs weren’t maxed out when you were shooting the bow, getting a feel for it. Did you max out the limbs before running it through the Chrono?
you seem to really like these short bows, I have heard you say that you are like me of average height some where in the range of 6'1' to 6'5' and have a draw length in the average range of 30'-34'but you seem to almost avoid bows that are of a more comfortable length of 34"-39".
I'm reviewing the most common bows. Not a ton of popularity out there on 35-39" axel to axel bows. I will review a few but its what people ask to see the most.
Can You answer this question no one else seems to be able to answer... what shoots faster 28” draw or 28.5” on the ventum 30? One is at the top of the mod and the other is at the bottom and also does the 33 shoot faster at those draw lengths? I’ve asked a lot of different people and no answer

Curious, why do you prefer a shim system to adjust lean vs the yoke system? Seems like most people I have talked to were bummed that they got rid of the yokes, since they were a little easier to work with.
I'm not sure why people care about the weight of the bow I mean your going hinting in mountain or back country with a baggage weighing quite a lot already a little weight on a bow is not gonna affect anything....
no matter what the new things are and new evocation human mentality con never be satisfied... there's always someone out wanna find some sort of complain....

I got the aluminum 2013 hoyt spyder 30. This bow looks so much alike. I'm contemplating between v3 27 and this bow 🤘

The bow peaked at 74, had to back it down to test it at 70

Does the added weight from knocks and dloop etc take away from teh speed?

Once you set the Shims it won't change. Yokes can stretch over time and change your tune
