    Just back from a few days in Vienna. We went to the Leopoldauer Alm. We had the Alpine sharing platter for two. It was exactly as in the vlog. We couldn’t finish it so ate the rest for lunch next day in the gardens of the Schonbrunn. Fantastic restaurant and the staff were brilliant. Price now €48 but worth it. No need for starter and desert.

      The portion is ridiculous! Took us so long to finish it, but it was delicious. Glad you enjoyed it!

    That grandma place looked so cool. I would love to go. It’s nice they have so many free things to do !

      The grandma place is super cute. And the desserts were really good! Yeah, the Clown Museum and Prater are both free entry. Plus, just walking around the city and seeing all the beautiful sites is, of course, free. We loved it there!

      As I've mentioned, it's only a 2 and a half hour train ride from Budapest, so it's super easy to visit from here!

    Lol, i really didn't expect a visit to the Leopoldauer Alm 😂
    Usually you always see the same fancy and touristy restaurants like Figlmüller near St Stephanscathedral in these travel videos.
    But Leopoldauer Alm is the real place for local meatlovers. And locals always know whats best!

      We always try to do a mix of both! It's pretty hard to appeal to both tourists, and locals..but we always prefer to eat where the locals do! They always know where the best food is. 😋

    Thanks for the video. Are the schnitzels fried in the same oil as the pork?

    • @wherearewe-yt
      @wherearewe-yt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not too sure! Schnitzel are often shallow fried in a pan, rather than deep fried, so it's likely the oil would changed be more often than in a deep fryer.
      If you don't even pork, maybe it's possible to ask if they could fry it in clean oil.

    • @klnsbl
      @klnsbl 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      traditionally lard or clarified butter is used to fry the wiener schnitzel, and it is indeed fried in a shallow pan with barely enough oil for it to swim

    Apricot! Or Marillen in German. Not orange. They grow a lot of apricots in eastern Austria and Hungary. But no oranges.

    • @wherearewe-yt
      @wherearewe-yt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, we actually spent a month in Vienna after filming this part and realized how apricot is the most popular flavor in Austria. I (Anja) also didn't know what Marillen was at the time because I'm from Germany and call them Aprikosen 😆😊. Either way, that cake was very yummy ☺️.

    Vienna has been on our list, looks just gorgeous!
    Idk about the museum though - the clowns are creepy. Traumatizing your child for the rest of their life is right!! hahaha

      Vienna is definitely one of the most beautiful cities we've been to. We luckily got to stay for an entire month, and loved it. Minus the fact that things closed quite early. 😮‍💨
      Hahaha. We absolutely loved that museum! Quite the contrast, going from these beautiful, baroque palaces, to a museum that would be pure nightmare fuel for many people. 😂

    drinking alcohol in wiener parks and wiener palaces gives you a fine up to 5000 euros if police catch you no just kiding lol
