I identify with the title of this video sooooo much. My nights are spent with a baby that doesn't sleep. And my days are spent with a clingy baby who doesn't want ANYONE else but mom. My writing schedule is nonexistent
Ah! I love that you said your first drafts are mostly dialogue! This is me and I have been struggling to write because I feel like it's just dialogue and I need more. I keep telling myself I can descriptions later just get a beginning, middle and end down on paper. But I feel like I'm writing "wrong".
Great job hanging in there when the writing is tough! I'm not a mom, and much respect for being able to write with a little one. If you do a video on the romance beats, I'd love to see it.
Try writing in different locales? I'd fall asleep on my laptop and knock it off the bed if I wrote there. But when I take it to a desk or a park - the waterfront, or skate park my son likes, or college campus bench out front ofbthe art building or a coffee shop or some unexpected places like the mall it can bring a refreshing energy and rhythm to my prose and makes my characters more likely to surprise me.
Unfortunately, unless I have a sitter, I'm stuck at the house. Oddly enough, I hate writing at my desk. I only use it for admin work. I've just always been a couch/bed writer haha
Curious about the stickers I use to track my word count? Check it out here: stoneridgebooks.com/collections/stickers

Haha I'm still waiting for the day she sleeps through the night...
"My child is sick and I am exhausted" I felt that in my bones 😅
Please make a Romancing the Beat video 😊
Will do!
It would be great to see a video on romancing the beat. Maybe my book needs a fresh perspective.
I've added the video to my to-do list!
Looking forward to reading this! ❤❤❤❤
Hope you like it!
I’m enjoying the mommy-author content so much! So relatable 😅❤. She is so cute.
Makes me so happy to hear!

I like to think there's no wrong way to write the first draft!
I, too, am writing a romance and have the Romancing the Beat book (on my Kindle). I'd like to hear your take on structuring your stories with it! :D

Thank you so much!
