    The scx10iii early bronco is a great class 1 platform. What I did is put proline hyrax class 1 tires. Then I installed 90mm scx10iii shocks and mount them in the same position as you did. I removed the 2 battery trays and installed the shorter battery tray to the very front of the truck by where your bumper mount is (straight bolt in). I also removed the stainless steel links, and installed some cheap Scx10ii style black aluminum links to keep the weight low as these trucks are very heavy out of the box. I put a 6.5” Harry Potter figure on mine 😊 great job with the video and tips! I also trimmed the back brace where the rear battery mounts.

    Mine should be here tomorrow, already plan on adding internal limiters in shocks. Will have to change out the battery connector to deans on mine, can't wait!

    Nice work. I just ordered my bronco yesterday. That back battery tray will be the first thing to go. Then the spare tire. Then some shock tuning.

    After buying a large amount of parts for mine my biggest issue was my drag breaks. To be able to fix that i had to buy a whole new motor and esc to be able to calibrate it and make it not role back. I did also take off the front and back fender liner for a bit more tire clearance

    Great video, John! Glad you're back at it!

      Does the IC3 not fit in the XT60 with a bit of wiggling? They used to fit. That would drop one extra adapter off the line.

    • @tylerpalmer8973
      @tylerpalmer8973 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, wait. Wrong direction, haha. XT60 device connectors can be used with EC/IC battery connectors, but not the other way around.

      @netcruzer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, and you can (carefully!) plug an XT90 into IC5, but not an XT60 into IC3 as there is a plastic barrier in the middle.

    Older video, I know, but I'm considering buying one of these just because I love the look. Had wanted one when they first came out, but then they sorta fell off the radar... Now, I'm wanting one again, so... Good video and tips. Thanks!

    Black RTV seals just about anything. Just takes overnight to dry, and it's super durable.

    Just ordered this in the turquoise for 299 from HH. The white didn't appeal to me and I hate blue lol.
    First I will enable 2spd than try to find some figures. Maybe a barbie for the passenger(to be daughter). Add some fishing poles and cb antenna lol.

      I also took advantage of the 299 sale, I chose white/blue however and I put a Mach Man Randy Savage figure in it and it matches perfectly! Have fun!

    How do you take the bronco out of dig mode and have it with the 2nd gear mode ? are there any videos ? thanks

    What length of screw did you use for the shock relocation? I need to know what size and length so I can order some. Unfortunately, I don' have a hardware store local to me that carries this type of hardware. Home Depot isn't going to cut it I'm afraid. lol

    Nice! Love everything you did to it! Where did you get the rope? I have a bronco coming just because of what you did to it. I had a bitchin 69 half cab when I was a teenager, that’s why I just love the look of this truck. I could get the top off of mine by sitting on the 8 track case between the seats and had a top off bronco in minutes.

    What holes are you running shocks in? Tire rub? My tires rub on full lock or with some suspension compression

    I got mine last year and I enjoy it but it is a wobbly thing! I will have to try the lowering of the shocks trick, thanks for that. I want to do a bunch to mine but I also want to not change anything at the same time....

    Great video! I watched the competition one as well and was wondering if anyone carries backpack solar chargers for their gopro or rc batteries? I'm looking to purchase my first rc anything and it's going to be a crawler. Probably this one because...Ford lol. Thanks for the tips!

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could charge a GoPro battery off solar but not RC batteries. I carry 3 GoPro batteries to events like this, and a USB battery bank just incase. The RC batteries for crawling last an obsurdly long time, most events I can do with one 3S 4000-5000mah pack and carry an extra charged 3S just incase.

    Did you know that you can use IC3 with XT60. Just have to ram it home!!!!! I do it all the time now after the kid at the hobby store mentioned it.

    Ok, so I've watched all of your competition videos with the Bronco and it appears that your shock mod really did improve things compared to other videos I've seen on this vehicle. One question... I've noticed that Axial supplies the 100mm shocks with the SCX10 III straight axle conversion kit, and this vehicle comes with the 100mm shocks obviously. So, I'm curious... Do you have any body rub or tire clearance issues with the relocated shock mount points? I didn't seem to notice any in your comp videos, but inquiring minds want to know... Thanks!

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No body rub with my shock mod on the early bronco.

    • @michaelc3416
      @michaelc3416 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@netcruzer Awesome! Thanks for the reply. One thing I've noticed about this truck has been the absence of body rub in most videos I've seen. Was concerned that lowering it that much would create tire clearance issues. Call me nuts, but I HATE the sound of tires clicking on the body!

    Didn't look like bumper drag was much more if any worse with short shock...

    I thought the body posts on the SCX10 II Deadbolt were piss poor, especially the rear ones. I now hate them less than those on the SCX III. They are the worst on the gladiator. Traxxas does them right on the TRX4.
