you skipped the 21st martial arts tournament which is the first one that goku enters, and just because he's stronger than in canon doesnt mean he should win the tournament early. Tien is able to fly and goku cant and while that may be a small issue the fact is that goku lost by ring out in the 22nd tournament and lost to jackie chun aka roshi fair and square and roshi knowing that goku is so much stronger would of likely trained while he was training krillin and goku so he would be able to teach the lesson that he intended to at the tournament never go around thinking your the strongest because theirs always someone stronger
