PLEASE RESCUE!!! I got my ferret 2 years ago from a rescue. He was 3 years old, kept in a cat carrier and fed only alfalfa pellets (they’re strict carnivores). He was so sick he couldn’t even get vaccinated. I adopted him after he started to feel better, and he’s been my favorite small pet since. There are SO many ferrets that need a good home, and so many are surrendered because people impulse buy them. They’re a lot of work! But it’s all worth it.

I agree. They so are. I got my baby thea from a pet store. She was in horrible condition and had no one. I brought her home and she went from depressed to so loving. She definitely has made a impact on me.
Ferrets look cute at the pet store, but people fail to see they are basically a hyper version of a cat.
I found out first hand just what they're really like when I opted to Ferret Sit at a house.

Super duper active! Crazy! Spunky! Sometimes mean! Ferrets take way more work than what people think. They are not like owning a cat.
I'm not Ferret hating. But way more people should follow understand what it's like to actually own a Ferret. I barely lasted a day. And you guys can go their entire lives.
I'll always opt to play with Ferrets, but I'm smart enough to know that I do not have the patience to properly care for Ferrets.
Please get your ferret a partner. They are such social creatures, they need that constant social interaction one another ferret can provide!
Well, if you lived in my area the only way to get pets like ferrets, rabbits, rats, hamsters, etc; is by buying them. Even if it is better to rescue/adopt pet shop animals deserve a loving home too. Most of them are mistreated in the pet shop,anyways. When I get a ferret im going to buy it.

"They can't stop adopting ferrets" "5 is a lot of ferrets" that's nothing. I volunteer for a ferret shelter. I have adopted around 13 (I think) ferrets. Plus a few more who went over the rainbow Bridge.

As a proud ferret mama, I keep coming back to watch this video 1 year after the first time I saw it. Ferrets are such wonderful pets to have, they're so full of personality and love.

I had my first ferret for a few years. After i got 2. And they passed. I miss having ferrets so much. They are so funny , affectionate, and maybe a little bit naughty... absolutely a perfect pet. No barking. They play like a dog and sleep like a cat

I've been a ferret owner since 86. My last little guy passed in Jan. They can be the best friends you will ever have. Dodo, you need more ferret stories. Check with the Ferret Rescue Society of Ottawa.

I have two babies and one rescued from a shelter. They take a lot of time, love and energy but they are amazing pets that are extremely smart!
It's so important for people to rescue. I love that they are rescuing the little guys who are often forgotten

Caught one of my ferrets sleeping in my crock pot. He opens the cabinet doors cuz he can, but I guess he needed a nap.
FYI, an 8 quart crock pot is the perfect size to cook an adult male ferret.

Ferrets are definitely underrated; but people get them thinking it's like a guinea pig (rodent), but they are in Carnivora in the order Mustelidae. People who know ferrets (lifelong playfulness, personality, antics, cleverness and damn surprising intelligence) then cant get enough ferrets. They are social so it is good to have many together generally.

I have rescued ferrets for years and currently have 5 called Loki, Levi, Jacob, Chico and Bella. I used to have 3 others, Alfie, Bandit and Rory. Ferrets have an undeserved bad stereotype, but they are my favourite animals and I will never stop adopting them!

Ferrets are so loving, freewilled, fuzzy little love bugs. You can't get one and not love having more! Those that do, must have been adopted, or dropped in their head.
Yes, cute and lovely animals, but please always keep in mind before getting one that they mean a lot of work! People should be sure that they can handl them and meet their needs. Never get a pet just because you find it cute, if you really love animals make sure you know what they need and provide it. That is the reason so many end up in rescues because people dont think BEFORE getting them
We have had ferrets in our home since 1994. Never had a mouse since!! My wife has a sticker on our fridge that says "You can never have just one ferret!!" In fact in 2001 we rescued 2 jills from my old Army buddies family.
I have now my second pair of little fur sausagees... My last both appa and nattix got 9 and a half years old and Pfötchen and hexe are niw 4 years old... And i love them both like my kids.... Ferrets are the best pet and family members you can imagine.... Never without ferrets again....
We have two the first my daughter brought home from the animal hospital she worked at. Then we bought her another ferret so she wouldn't be lonely. Now we're hooked they're spoiled rotten and we're looking to get more ferrets. They're so cute, cuddly and so much fun. The truly are the perfect pets.

If you give them baths more often and a proper diet and actually clean up after them they shouldn't stink that much.
Their house probably smells fine most of the time cause they obviously take proper care of all of them
Alexis 13702 thats not true at all. I bathed mine often and cleaned it’s litter box/other surroundings daily, and you could still smell it’s musk. Ferrets have a smell to them, period, stop trying to convince people they don’t have any odor even if properly maintained just because your nose is used to it. People spreading misinformation like you are the reason ferrets end up needing rehomed like mine did when I realized that what I read on the internet wasn’t true.

I used to have a bunch--Twinkie, Pooh Bear, Bernie, Duncan, Mokie, Sophie, etc. They were the most fun animals I have ever owned. I loved their little "dooking" noise, and how they'd bounce all over the place and fall backwards or sideways. Twinkie would go nuts when we put her on the bed. They were just plain hilarious. Wish I could have them again, but they are fairly high maintenance and I really think they should be raw fed to stay healthy.
Bad thing bout ferrets is the life span is so short which is sad

Please go to your humane society or find out if there is a ferret shelter near you, instead of buying. So many people are enchanted by these cuties and get one, totally unprepared, and end up so overwhelmed they give them up or worse. Ferrets are awesome, and/but need stimulation, lots of play and loving companionship, and regular vet care. Finally, I recommend reading a ferret manual. Ferrets for Dummies is an excellent resource; it's amazing and sad how many people don't know any better and feed their fuzzies cat or dog food, and never give them dental care. Just sayin'.

I have two ferrets and night I advice u before you see this video and think “ohh they are so cute I want one” just make sure you have the time to give them the attention they need and they are a handful and they always need a good sized cage unless your going to let them out a lot.

In 2004 I started rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out ferrets. At the most I had 43 carpet sharks in my house.. 🥰
Ferrets are the best! I loved mine so much growing up. It's such a shame people get them and dont want them after a while. I would love to adopt ferrets and have a ferret room made perfect for them!!!
We have 5 ferrets all with different personalities and Its adorable. I literally just came from the pet store about 10 minutes ago playing with a ferret. My mom made a deal that if the ferret is still there in 3 weeks we'll get her.

Recently found a ferret crossing the road in our local country club. The poor thing was scared out of her wits but immediately approached the people who found her. She was posted on Facebook as found and the country club emailed everyone living there about it but no one has claimed her. I’ll be taking her in two days and will proceed to attempt to find her owners, if no one claims her then she’ll be staying with me! Very happy about it!

I love seeing this happy family....I too started with one, then got a companion for him. After that, it was ferret math! Once you have ferrets and folks find out, you become the go-to person when one is dumped at a shelter or vets office, or found abandoned somewhere. I've had probably about 100 ferrets over the years; the most at any one time was 20. They had their own room to free roam in 24/7. Just about all were rescues or adoptees; they are such joyful, loving little characters, and each one steals a little piece of your heart away when they leave to cross the Bridge.❤

I absolutely adore my ferrets i have 5 also. 3 are babies and they are so much fun i think they have made me an honorary ferret they are always wanting to play with me. They get into everything. Would happily have a house full.
