Not sure if you know this but you can download the song straight to your phone and import it to your spotify and add it to whatever playlist you want, just obviously have to keep the song downloaded on your phone otherwise it won't work.
Oh I'm sure! Sadly a lot of kids arent growing up with a father, but this movie teaches that you can find someone in that role even if they're not your parent
I'd say this goes for a number of Disney's films from the early 2000s. The Emperor's New Groove is more geared towards young men, so is Atlantis, and you could say the same for Brother Bear.
Thank you so much for the link! I can't believe this isn't on Spotify NOR on iTunes. I couldn't even find it on Amazon music. the music industry is so weird...
You're welcome! It's rare for older CD single b-sides to be on streaming services unless they are released on a more recent compilation or something that came out during the streaming era
Oh my god you actual legend. I've been trying to find the Rzeznik version of this song for ages in good quality. Swear disney tried to bury his version. Thank you!
It's odd, this is clearly a different vocal take than the one from the movie. Still fantastic, but it's definitely not precisely the same. I wonder why two versions were made, there's no lyrical change or anything.
It is my understanding that, while John did in fact write the song, the executives at Disney would not allow him to perform it as well as I'm Still Here for the movie. It was covered by the group BBMAK for the movie.
I think it might be this version in the original film (on my old DVD at least), but it looks like the soundtrack edition (BBMAK) has replaced it in the credits of Disney+ streaming. I like the guitar in this version better - wish I could legally buy this version...
If only this legendary gem is in Spotify.
Sucks to be tied to music service huh? Normally I just download it on my phone raw.
Right? This is def the best version. They don’t even have the fake bbmak version on Apple Music/spotify

Or maybe Pandora.
Criminally underrated film and soundtrack.
John's music made an excellent movie 100 times better.
Fav version. John sounds so authentic. This song is such a unique take on young man who misses a father figure in their life. Thanks for posting this.
"Yeh GoT The makins' of GREATNESS en ya, lad!" - Johnny Silver, Treasure Planet
What I like about Treasure Planet is that it helps cater to a more male oriented audience compared to most Disney animated movies.

This version needs to be on Spotify, I’ve been looking for John’s version! Absolute legend for uploading this.
Superb sound quality. Thank you for making this possible. I really love songs by Goo Goo Dolls / John Joseph Theodore Rzeznik
Oh my god you actual legend. I've been trying to find the Rzeznik version of this song for ages in good quality. Swear disney tried to bury his version. Thank you!

Not a Disney princess anywhere. Thank you.

If you listen closely there are two distinct John Rzeznik versions. The version that play at the end of the movie doesn't have drums in the intro
This movie should have gotten a sequel
Idk man. Sometimes a story is just fine the way it is and the ending is perfect. It definitly deserves more recognition though.
It is best quality
I’ve been listening to the terrible quality version for years 🤯
same until I finally tracked down the CD! World of difference
