there is a documentary about Queen that includes the making of that video , and in it you can see in one scene where Freddie is getting off the stage to see how the video was working out and what had to be fixed , or done different , and in the background you see him as he is getting off the stage in obvious pain and with difficulty , but then he gets back onto the stage and finishes the video anyway , it wasnt that he didnt let on that he was in pain , it was the fact that he didnt let the pain stop him , amazing person who lived his life his own way , but the pity was that it was at the most dangerous time ever to be gay , just at that time when AIDS was rife but not known about , and just before a cure of sorts was found

The video for this song was recorded in May 1991, and considering Freddie died several months later on the 24th November 1991, you can see how advance his AIDS condition was in this video. Progressively, his eyesight was starting to fade a little, making it difficult for him to walk publicly, which made him more housebound towards the end of his life, although he was not blind.
The outfit he wore in the video was custom made, and all the cats that were on his top were his cats, as Freddie was a cat lover. He wrote a song about his favourite cat around this time, he never refused having his cats company when he was in bed, and back when he was on tour, he would insist whoever was at his house, put his cats on the telephone when he rang, so he could have his 'cat calls' with his pets.
When Freddie said the last line 'I still love you', he was looking at his boyfriend Jim Hutton, who was on the set at the time. Out of all the relationships, Jim's was the one that Freddie regarded as the relationship he had wanted for many years, with Jim being touted as 'Freddie's husband' wherever they went. Jim unfortunately contracted HIV from Freddie, but thankfully he didn't develop the AIDS that Freddie got. Jim actually wrote a book about him and Freddie called 'Me and Mercury', which is very insightful.

If having HIV and losing Freddie was bad enough, Jim, Peter Freestone, and another person who I can't remember were kicked out of Garden Lodge six months after Freddie died. This just showed, not only what a superb performer he was, but a loving person he was as well. I love how Freddie just wore his heart on his sleeves and (in this case) his waistcoat. The last whisper of "I still love you" to his family, friends and fans is still an emotional bullseye! Though Freddie never had children of his own, he loved cats and was a truly devoted cat daddy. The pictures on his vest are portraits of his beloved fur babies. Brian, John and Roger (who is playing conga drums fyi) are doing all they can to keep a stiff upper lip. I can't imagine how much it must have ate at them inside to watch their friend and brother waste away. Even now their spiritual bond with Freddie is so strong not even death could break it. God bless Queen indeed!

The video was filmed on May 30, 1991. It was Freddie Mercury's last filmed performance, as he died on November 24 of that year. Unreleased backstage footage of the shooting of the video appeared in the Days of our Lives documentary, showing Mercury's deteriorating physical condition (extremely skinny and pale) largely covered up by makeup and colorful attire. Brian May speculated in the documentary that Freddie was "saying his goodbye" in that video, knowing that he would likely not be healthy enough to perform anymore.

I was on my way to work and saw the headline that he had died. I turned around and went home and cried for hours. Of all the great artists that I have loved over the years, his passing hit the hardest. I am now 60 years old and still cry at this. Remember that life is short. Live it. Love it. Cuddle the ones you love. Kiss them and tell them that you love them. Shalom.

Thank you for remembering such a great artist. I wish I was born back when Queen was in its best moment, I was born after he was gone. But I got into this band because of my Mom. I’ve been looking into Queen so much and after that, I see nowadays all those people who call themselves “artists” should be embarrassed, Freddie Mercury was a real artist, he had everything to call himself the best and he never did. I was completely wrong when I thought CardiB or a Demi Lovato, just to mention few, were artists. I feel ashamed, I was so wrong. I deeply cried while this video of “These are the days of our lives” was playing, he looked deteriorated because the progress of that illness but he was doing his best, I have no words to express how I feel.

His last goodbye to the world, he knew he was dying and you can actually see he vas very sick by that time. He could barely stand but he made it, he made the video anyway. RIP angel, we miss you. The world is a darker place since you've gone... we still love you.♥️

He was so sick but he demanded to do it! Did the video in one day!! His voice still as perfect as ever! (Watch the behind the scenes video... he would rest and keep going) That last scene where he says I love you... I cry! Best artists ever!!!! Freddie lived his life for fun!!!! Go ahead and ugly cry... I always do.... I’ll do it with you!!!! As Carrie Underwood sings you can’t “Cry Pretty”!

This is always so hard for me to get through, although I always do, because it was important for Freddie to say good-bye to all his friends, family, & fans, & it touches my heart to know he needed to get through this, even as much pain he was in, to let us know how much he cared about us........the band also had a hard time getting through this, as apparently they had several takes to do, because they needed to get themselves together......Beautiful song, from a Beautiful Man, is who missed so very much!!!

That was the last time they got Freddie on video.
His last audio recording was for "The Show Must Go On." The story goes, the band was terrified that recording the song would be too much for him, but Freddie in his true fashion, said, "Darlings, I got this," and he would take a shot of (I forget the drink) and he delivered the vocals.

The song These are the days of our lives is a great song. It was originally written buy the Drummer Roger Taylor for his children. Freddie liked it and wanted to release it as a video and final message for his fans. Video was done in black and white to hide the fact he was ill and the final I still love you whispered was a message to the fans as it was his last ever video

When Chadwick Boseman died, working till’ the end, private with his dignity intact-It reminded me of Freddie. He died two years younger than Freddie, and like Freddie at the time that should have been the end of the middle not the end of the end of his life and career.
I think of his last video to his fans, so gaunt, like out of a concentration camp-But still he loved his fans and wished to speak to them. I think of that and I think of Freddie. Goodbye Chadwick, goodbye Freddie. Only the good die young.

this music video makes me so sad bc in a behind the scenes clip he was self conscious of using his hands too much but it was because he could barely walk anymore and he loved to move when performing. AAHHH yeah, i really miss him even though i didn't even live in his lifetime. Fly high darling
