never really been a fan of rap but this is about the 4th or 5th vid iv seen of Chris Turner and he amuses me each time, nice work dude takes some very clever on the ball thinking to do this sorta thing
I had this appropriation convo with someone once. She was black whining about braids. Whilst having straight hair, dyed blonde, on her mobile phone using the internet to connect with me from her car. When I pointed out literally everything she is using was created by people not of her culture and that she should hand them all in. She didn’t like that one bit. You know full well she went to the “we can’t be racist/ appropriate” route this exposing her bs even more.
Dude, none of the things you listed were culturally associated. Straightening hair and dying hair blond are universal fashion choices. They also have long histories in black culture. The lady is wrong that black people can't be racist or appropriate, but your points make no sense and we are all dumber for having heard them. May God have mercy on your soul. That's me appropriating Billy Madison.
Some good shit glad you didn’t put up with the heckling. Apparently there’s a whole group of people who think they came up with rhyming while singing but that shit always existed.
I grew up listening to Hip Hop from the age of 5 when it first started. She doesn't know her history, because Hip Hop evolved from Disco in the 70's. 💯
The Last Poets and Hustlers Convention were before that, and they copied white Beat poets. Who in turn copied English avant-garde poets. Edith Sitwell made the first rap in 1922, music by William Walton.
If there was a time when a white rapper was appropriating culture that ship sailed long ago when a white rapper become one of the most popular if not the most popular rapper ever. Eminem. Now he's a part of the culture, creating it even.
You could probably say vanilla ice was, and maybe some of these 'singers' that look and act like rappers like yelawolf or even Justin Beiber. But i don't believe that term it's BS. Black people 'appropriate' white culture all the time!
your comment doesnt make sense, he's incredible because he a white guy freestyling or your amazed by hiphop freestyle as an artform.? wouldnt freestyle be fundamental in the art of rap?
The term Cultural appropriation is a silly term when you think about it. If the lady, that made that comment, would have to stop doing everything that didn't come from her culture. She would have to live in a home without lights, no automobile, no air conditioning, and most of the food she eats, the list is long. In other words, the world is a blend of all cultures.
Cultural appropriation is neither a positive or negative thing. It only becomes a bad thing if it is being misappropriated, made fun of, disrespected and no credit being given. We should probably start calling it cultural misappropriation instead.
Cultural Appropriation "Honey, I'm British, our Nations whole history is about appropriation of cultures. Did you not hear what I literally just said about Tikki Masala?" And I had to give a chuckle with reverse racism of Spanish towards white people, as the person who said probably doesn't realize that most Spanish people are white. They're mixing up the language that they speak and the race of the person, probably meant Mexican (Or Latino) not Spanish
Yep, as soon as it was uttered I was like, REALLY? This again? People don't know what ethnicity and DNA means since they didn't listen in school and the most ignorant among us are the loudest.
Spanish people are not white. There's are a lot of fair skinned people there, but ethnically they are mixed. Mixed white people from the Mediterranean mixed again with Africans. Olive people now turned to fair/olive
...and this is the problem of trying to tie race to genetics. It doesn't work, as it's not a scientific barrier. Historically, for those who care about race, Spanish (and Mexican in particular) people are either white or not, depending on the political needs of the day. (Usually they are, though, just because most can passe blanc.) Although for Mexicans in particular, the "no" column was usually justified by pointing to mestizo ancestry. The term Cultural appropriation is a silly term when you think about it. If the lady, that made that comment, would have to stop doing everything that didn't come from her culture. She would have to live in a home without lights, no automobile, no air conditioning, and most of the food she eats, the list is long. In other words, the world is a blend of all cultures.

all this type of modern lingo is nonsense like that
The way people learn and use the term via social media is also grossly misappropriated from what it means in social sciences.
Cultural appropriation is neither a positive or negative thing. It only becomes a bad thing if it is being misappropriated, made fun of, disrespected and no credit being given. We should probably start calling it cultural misappropriation instead.

Spanish people are not white. There's are a lot of fair skinned people there, but ethnically they are mixed. Mixed white people from the Mediterranean mixed again with Africans. Olive people now turned to fair/olive
@@AharonNiziriby your logic nobody is exactly white, even corpses
...and this is the problem of trying to tie race to genetics.
