    I'm on a very dry sand-ridge so my ground water is probably found far below the surface. Irrigation would probably thus need to be regularly applied in area. The soil seems to be 90% sand. My neighbor's 93 year-old house even has a basement under it, which I hear isn't common, at least not in the Southern half of FL.

    @Fruitful Trees, how close do you have mamey to your house, Lara Farms , Julian has one next to the house?

    Hi. I have a Mamey sapote key west tree that I had installed last year. The leaves still look horrible. Yellow and brown leaves , no new growth. What do I do , it was expensive

    I recently acquired some property that has a mature Mamey tree on it, roughly about 30 feet in height; it has never been pruned and I was curious if i could do a major pruning, perhaps bring it down to about 15 feet in height and shape the bottom. Would you recommend that level of pruning be done at once or is it best to do it over multiple sessions? Or is that overall too drastic of a prune?

    • @FruitfulTrees
      @FruitfulTrees  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good question. I would prune 25% each year but better to ask Julian at Lara farms

    Do Mamey trees need another Mamey for cross pollination or do they self pollinate.
    How long after being planted in the ground do Mamey fruit!!

    • @FruitfulTrees
      @FruitfulTrees  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they don’t self Polinate

    • @nicholas8479
      @nicholas8479 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe they don't need cross pollination, but it helps. How much, I don't know.

      Sometimes it does. I thought mine didn’t, after five years it is the same as the fruit I grew it from. (Like a grammar school football. Hawaii) we topped ours.

    @fruitful trees Question, I dont have much space in my back yard, I have about 10 feet between my backyard wall and my house. You think this is enough space to plant the mamey tree?
