You , like many, show an admiration and respect for older design furniture. Too many interesting pieces are tossed or trashed vs refinished. Even having a “hard life” is no reason to abandon them.
I totally agree with you. I have seen antique furniture in the garbage.... Nowadays, most people purchase Ikea furniture or other cheap stuff that are built with particle boards!! Frankly, I prefer buying vintage/antique furniture because I know it will last.
I have my grandmother's side table just like this, circa 40's or 50's I think. I love it, my mom as she got older would use it as a table to eat lunch/dinner while watching her tv shows. It needs some work, so I think I will attempt to do the same after watching this video. this channel has such a soothing effect! :)
I love everything about this sweet little table and the way you finished it. I used to be a big of an anti veneer snob, but watching your channel & the care you take with it has given me a new appreciation for it.
I really appreciate that you didn't put music in your videos and it's all your voice and natural sounds, it's one of the reasons I keep watching your videos.
I used your paper bag smoothing trick this summer on a number of finishing and refinishing projects I did. It was awesome! Probably the best trick I’ve learned on any of the DIY/refinishing channels I watch. Thanks for sharing it!
Just wish the younger generation would stop slow down and appreciate the real world more. You sir are a breath of fresh air with a talent sadly fading in this fast paced selfish world, thank you.
9:35 I like the brown paper bag finishing idea. I always take a little something away that I can use every time. Thank you. Hope 2021 is being kind to you and your family.
Another great quad "R".... Rescue, Repair, Refinish, and Reuse! Great little simple (yet unique) table that will see many more years of service thanks to your efforts!
Just found your channel this morning. I'm enjoying watching the great care you take to restore your found treasures. So happy to see wood pieces being restored instead of painted. I love the warm and beauty of wood furniture. Awesome job!
As usual, turned out great! I'm not normally a fan of oak, but the grain in the table top is really pretty. Would you ever consider doing a furniture tour video of how you use some of these pieces in your home?
I like the way you used a scraper instead of furniture stripper Steve. I've had luck using garnet shellac to impart richness to wood. It would help dial in the color on the legs. Thanks for sharing your work with us! Scott
Nice little project for the $10.00, and the character of the oak veneer looked great after you cleaned it up. Thanks so much for taking the time to share.
I like that you always (nearly always?) use a natural finish of some sort rather than jumping in to paint everything. Wood has its own beauty and you let that be seen. Thanks for that.
How great to see a new post from you! I hope the move went well and that you are settled. That table wasn’t anything super special to start with, but you gave it new life. It will be enjoyed for years to come. Nice work!
I’ve never seen a table like this before, great idea. I loved watching you use your excellent skills and creative talent to turn an old piece “junk” into a gorgeous unique table anyone would be proud to own. I also enjoy your process. It’s somehow calming, soothing and relaxing. Thank you, ❤️ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦
Looks like one of those feet had those beautiful medullary rays on it. Nice find! Also couldn’t believe how nice the top looked once you took that battered finish off
@@DashnerDesignRestoration In previous videos we see intriguing piles of many books stacked along the walls of your workspace. I'm thinking your move to a new home might have involved your making or restoration of bookcases! Thank you for these simply lovely videos.
im impressed you were able to make plywood look so nice with just stain, but also thanks for spending the time to make it prettier even if it wasnt gonna be seen as much as the top
That's one of the most useful little types of tables you can get. I love it and would have pounced on it if I'd seen it. I hope you decide to keep it! you did a very nice job..
Nice little table. Reminds me of old, so-called "French winetables", altough they usually are a bit more "robust" and have a massive top. But the way they collaps is similar.
I like the dark color of the legs in the original table.
nothing beats oak in my opinion....beautiful table beautiful finish.
Turned out beautifully.
Twelve minutes and forty-five seconds of sooth, in a noisy and vexatious world.
Thank you, sir.
Good use of the word.
Agreed. He has a nice channel, and no cruddy background musak.
Yes, you said that well. No music being played in the background.
Absolutely!
No one mentioned this so thought I would. In old New England that design would be known as a fire screen table.
You've done it again.maestro.

Very satisfying to you and to the viewers as well. Thanks !
I'm a simple man. I see Dasher has a new video, I watch.
Thanks for watching!
@@DashnerDesignRestoration No, thank you!
exactly. I may get a little excited, but it is that simple
I watch on TH-cam tv. Hope it counts. Glad you are back making new videos. Like them all.
That voice, those hands, that woodwork. That combination is for the win. Always happy for the Dasher notification.
What a calm pleasant video in a chaotic world.
There's something beautiful and satisfying about watching a master work on his craft with deliberation and care.

I like the view from the new place
Looks like "another cold day in Minnesota".
'Twas.
A good day for thrifting! ( Hi from St Anthony Village!)
Hi from Shakopee.
It's daaaang cold this week.
Very cute table - that's a keeper!
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾Great to see your back!!!!
Real cool table.

I totally agree!
Sort of a modern day take on colonial furniture. Gate legs and tilt tops were common in colonial days. I like it. Nice job. Thanks for video.
You made this unique little table look really nice.
What a cute little table. I'm glad you decided to take it home and give it some TLC.
So relaxing to watch this channel 😀

Only one thing wrong with this Channel. Not enough videos. lol People need to start donating furniture to this guy.
lovely little table

Woohoo! You know it’s a good Friday when Dashner posts!
Awesome job and find❣️
Nice job.
I've never heard of or thought of using brown paper bag to aid in smoothing. Learn something new every day!
What a unique little table, i love it
Very nice and good job
You are my inspiration!

I was happy to see you use a clear finish on the oak. It was beautiful after the old finish was removed. Very nice job
What a special little table you rescued. I so enjoy seeing your work! brrrrr...stay warm!
I love how you preserved the natural beauty of it. That would be a cute lego or puzzle table for the kids.
That turned out great!!! As a nomadic type of person, I love the folding design.

You have very calming mannerisms, thanks so much for your videos.🙂
Happy to see another video pop up! Thanks..
I like that table. The wing nuts were a surprising touch. It makes me think of old shop class projects. Clean simple lines. 💕♥️💕
During these strange times it's really awesome to be able to feel right at home watching these videos - so thanks and keep up the good work!
It’s amazing how much better that little table looked after you removed the old finish.

We call that a gate-leg table here in the South. What a beautiful restoration you did!
What a unique little table. Glad you rescued it and restored it. Hope you're staying warm up there.
Thank you.
I could listen to you everyday😍 ... great video! I like that you go over why you chose to do things a certain way.
Very nice job, amazing how nice the table top looked after just removing the old finish. And as usual your finishing touches are masterful.
So happy to hear your voice again. And to get back to your high standard of repair & finish.❤️🥰
This turned out so well. It’s amazing what a little scraping, stain, and polyurethane can do. Beautiful job! 👍
And his expertise!
Looks like one of those feet had those beautiful medullary rays on it. Nice find! Also couldn’t believe how nice the top looked once you took that battered finish off
Looks a lot better in the lighter colour you gave it
It’s a snowy spring day in Minnesota. A perfect day for thrifting.
Such a darling little quirky table. Love it.
Your new shop looks so nice, clean and organized. Look forward to seeing how long that lasts in future videos.
Good call on leaving the top natural. Gorgeous. Love your work ♡
Oh goodie, a new vid! What a quirky little table. Good thing you found it❤️ Thanks for sharing 😁🇳🇱
This one is just too cute! I'm glad it found your way and got a second chance
What a great little table to have coffee on (using coasters, of course!), or maybe play a game of cards or Backgammon..
I always keep plenty of coasters around the house.

Nice transformation!
I like the design of this table, I had a gate leg table when I first married. It got lost in the shuffle. The color came out so nicely.
Let’s just all pool our money to pay him to make us videos full time. 🤗
Your videos are the bomb diggity dayum!!!! Thanks for the upload fam!!!!
Nice work! You made that table look somehow cozy against all that snow. Well done!
Thank you.
Fewer neighbors (pedestrians, dog-walkers, bicyclists, passers-by, etc.) in your new place. Really neat little table.
So glad to see you back here again... I'm trying to learn from you. And, might I say, you're a great teacher! Thank you!!
It's like a simple pie crust table, sans crust. Excellent work as always! Looked like a cold day in Minnesota that day ☺️
Another beautiful restoration, it is a very pretty table!
Great job - it turned out better than I thought it would. 👍👍👍
I love it...well done! I like your use of a brown paper bag to smooth the final topcoat! I will try that. Thanks

Great video. I like the table. Hope you are enjoying the new house.
Lovely table. Glad you rescued it.
