    Am I the only one who likes LG's UI? I find it a lot nicer to use than the likes of Touchwiz personally.

      It's a lighter TouchWiz imo. It's really ugly and way too bright, and also fairly heavy on the phone.

    • @Regular_Jo
      @Regular_Jo 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've owned a Optimus G Pro, G2, G3, and gf had a G3 Vigor and it didn't slow down or was "heavy" on any of those devices. It being ugly and too bright is all opinion. Thankfully launchers and icon packs are a thing.

      its my favorite Ui compared to Samsung its like weight and more useful. I don't agree. i also wish they upped the cpu. i do agree they only needed one camera in the front the wide 120 angle one. i also wish it had front firing speakers

      Nin Ja without insulted please .Do not judge by my name and surname, I am from French, where I was born. .I do not troll, and does not bind to only one brand when purchasing a phone. I write from experience with various phone which I had. Samsung has among the worst UI due to poor touchfiz and cramped bloatware and bad ram Menagment. and it is true now, as you can not accept it, that's for another story

    • @snazzy
      @snazzy  9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Jason Rutibager I love LG's hardware. I'm just not a fan of the interface. I review phones. It's my job. I see the best and worst of all smartphones and I publish videos based on my opinion. Many people review. Many reviews are similar. Many reviews are different. They're all opinion based. What I think is good, you may think isn't-and vice versa.
      P.S., I said "weird" meaning that it's a peculiar device. No other phone has had two front facing cameras and two screens. It's odd. It's peculiar. It's weird. Weird doesn't mean it's bad. It means it's different.

      +Stephen Butler It costs twice as much as the Nexus 6p. $1000 for a phone is horseshit. In 2 to 3 months phones with a newer, more powerful, more efficient, processor will be on the market for like $800 I bet.

Yeah it is heavy but soo useful but hey we all have opinions I guess 👍 great review though!

    I have had this phone for about 5 months now, and I must say, it is,
    hands down, the best phone I've ever had. The 64GB of internal storage
    is more than enough for me, but the added SD slot is nice to have. My
    games run smoothly and look incredible on the large screen. The overall
    screen resolution is just incredible. When paired with the great
    cameras, my pictures and videos look so sharp. This allowed me to get a
    lot of great pictures of my sister's wedding. The battery does tend to
    die out rather quickly, but the quick charge plug and replaceable
    battery are more than enough to balance that out. For sheer
    performance, this phone cannot currently be beaten. The sturdy build
    does it's job as I've inadvertently dropped it a few times with only
    minor cosmetic damage. This prompted me to find a good case to augment
    the sturdy build of the device. I went with a Zizo case which is not
    only tested to meet military standards, but, also fits my style quite
    well. Overall, a modern masterpiece. 5/5 stars.

    A happy user and an excellent phone. Some improvements we would all like to see to make it the Ultimate phone are:
    -water proof
    -include headphone for U.S. carriers
    -Dual front facing speakers
    -OLED Display
    -thinner
    -Metalic color tone Logo for a premium appeal
    LG should not remove any hardware or software from the correct design. Please don't create a failed product like the LG G5. This phone is the best phone I've own, and it's the first LG phone I've ever own. I've been switching people to LG. Keep it up. can't wait to see if any of those things mentioned above will be included in the future upgrade model.

    The software, including the icons, are and have been for me, among the best features of this phone. They are clean, modern and don't resemble cartoon or an old version of windows and the software works for me! So you're wrong, not everybody shares your opinion. But, where I do agree with you is the camera is exceptional and the colors true to life.

  • @davidryan2484
    @davidryan2484 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've had this phone for two weeks and I love it more each day. I wish that this review had been done after a little more time with the phone. I'll look forward to the full review. I use the second screen more than anything else. It was unexpected that I'd love it as much as I do. Also it's great that I never have to plug in the phone or charge it because putting in a fully charged battery eliminates any waiting or inconvenience. Quick and wireless charging will never be able to be faster than 60 seconds. Having this choice moved me from Samsung to LG. I'll always support being able to have more choices even if those choices aren't relevant to me at the time. It took me about a week to get used to the bigger size and now I'll probably never go back to a smaller size. After messing around with my friends galaxy note 5 I like my V10 way better and this is after being with Samsung for four years. I love love love this phone! It's always great to be pleasantly surprised.

  • @TheLast2nd
    @TheLast2nd 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just want to comment on the second screen and it's usage with one hand. The reason the grip on the phone is so good, is so you can just nudge the phone up in your hand from resting on your palm, to resting on your fingers while you use your thumb to control the second screen. You can flawlessly make this move since the rubberized back makes it harder for the phone to slip.

    • @TheLast2nd
      @TheLast2nd 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TheLast2nd Also, the toggles on your second screen when the phone is locked is for your protection. I have a password and a fingerprint lock. So when my phone's off, although it's shitty that I can't make any calls or open any apps right away, it's mainly so other people can't access your top contacts or open your recently viewed apps. Should the option be there, with you being able to "Unlock before you call/open an app"? Yes. But considering LG comes out with a new phone every 3 months, they don't really give their developers enough time to really think everything through.
      They should have an update on that soon.

  • @mavricxx
    @mavricxx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Liked the review but the software comments are WAYYY off. After using Samsung phones for the last 5 years, this phone is a breath of fresh air. The software is SOOO much more stable. Haven't had any crashes or the stupid pop up asking me if I want pick Touchwiz Home or Touchwiz easy home! Also, doesn't use as much battery or resources and doesn't have as much garbage pre-installed in the phone itself and I have a T-Mobile version. Almost felt like a vanilla android phone. One thing I will add I wish this phone had, is touch gestures like the BalckBerry 10 phones and the HTC M8. Getting used to the buttons being in the back is kind of a pain and work in progress but the gestures would have made it much easier to adapt to. The screen is gorgeous, the camera almost flawless. The I hope they add IOS and 60fps using 4K for the next iteration, this would just be amazing! The fit and finish is amazing, about the only complaint I have are the buttons on the back which they REALLY need to add gestures in my opinion. If you've never used a BB10 phone or an M8 with the gestures, you're missing out on how much simpler it makes it using your device to wake it up and make it do other things. Finally the standard 64gb and 4gb RAM can't be beat for the price!

    It's a good thing it has nougat now, it looks exactly like the V20 and pretty similar to the G6 as well. Performance and battery life was also noticeably increased with nougat, I get about 20-30 minutes more SOT and apps load/close quicker and don't crash freeze or lag like with marshmallow.

    good review, keep it up. Want to know more and more about the LGV 10. You suffer from the same delusion however, about OIS. OIS is a mechanical suspension of the lens in a cell phone camera and it is always on no matter what youre shooting. It is the software stabilization that is on or off during some modes because it's just too much for the processor to handle. Most cell phones are working so hard to film 4k video that they just cannot handle software image stabilization at the same time. The OIS, however, is always on.

    How can you say the LG UI is so bad and terrible when it looks just like all the major flagship devices except it's way smoother and damn near lag free! Second , the 808 is not a year old! The G4, which is only four, almost five months old, is the first phone and flagship to have it and worked closely with Qualcomm to optimize it! The v10 is the pro version of the G4 but shares almost everything hardware wise! The v10 added a few features but it's overall a bad ass device! Yes , it's your opinion but we want constructive criticism not bias rants! Thanks

    Interesting that you aren't a fan of the 2nd display, most other early previews have praised it as a pretty cool addition.
    What I do find odd is the decision to stick with the same battery as in the G4.

Last year I've switched from a Nexus 4 (the best experience I have ever saw from a phone) to an LG G Pro and.. the software was way ahead of Samsung's TW (in terms of performance) but.. it wasn't very good looking. Then bought a Note 4 and now A G4 and the new LG UX looks a lot better to me, comparing it with Sammys TW, design, speed and everything else.

    I personally like this implementation better than a curved display.

    I like LG's UI more than any other phone, including Samsung's crappy touchwiz. And the second screen is actually very useful and I like the placement of it.

    just wanted to say i completely agree with you about LG's UI. it's functional for the most part, but not very pretty to look at. great hardware, but it's missing eye candy, and that may seem trivial but it's important when you're spending over $600 on something you're going to interact with every day.

    It definitly looks like the OIS is on in 4K. I think the option is not available since OIS is mandatory with such a high resolution anyway....

    Actually it's a 5.9" screen if you count in the secondary display.

    4 to 4 and a half hours of on screen time? I thought my 9 hours was bad. As much as I love LG, I wish companies would focus more on AMAZING!!! battery life vs more HD in the screen. I still watch my videos in 480p.

    Before I got my LG G4 about 2 months ago, I had a Note 4. TouchWiz is so laggy compared to LG UI. Yes, it's not as good looking and the menus are a bit weird, but it's MUCH quicker than TouchWiz, BY FAR. In fact, there's no comparison. This phone is super quick!!
    I'm not to fussed about the V10, because I find the 2nd screen implementation a bit strange. The screen should have been on the bottom or side. It's silly having it at the top. Also, it's bigger than the iPhone 6+. I think 5.5" for a screen size is about perfect. I'm more than happy with my G4. I don't feel gutted at all that the V10 is out. Nova and Moonshine icon pack, job done.

    LG are smart not to put a lot of effort into the skin like Samsung. It's an Android the whole point is to clean the slate and customize to your liking with Nova, Multipicture Live Wall Paper and an icon pack of your liking. I'm not sure why people are in love with the look of stock Android, I find it very boring. You can have something much more creative similar to what the ColdFustion TH-camr does using creative photography and minimalist icons.
    The OIS not available on 4k should be a simple matter of an software update? If the second screen exists only to show battery life it's already paid for itself. I try to keep my batteries between 50-80% to extend cycles.
    This seems like the best phablet on hardware you can buy. A friend was pissed that the his newly acquired iPhone 6S does not have manual controls on video like the V10.
    LG is going for the jugular.

    I love the LG G4 for the Leather Back and the LG V10, but I still have my G3 because it feels the best in my hands and can be rooted. With root I can flash CyanogenMod which will remove any signs of LG software and give me Stock Android with minor tweaks. It makes the phone feel much faster. That is why I still have my LG G3 on Verizon! The G4 has root and the V10 does not. NO CyanogenMod for either phone yet.

    I have a LG G3, and you know what is the problems of this phone ? Software ! Yeah, launcher redraw and multitasking is not as good as it should because LG Rom are not fairly optimised ! Thatg why I'm running a ASOP Rom that make my G3 a real beast, however the battery life is quite bad (like 3h30 SO). I hope, one day, LG will totally rethink his software from A to Z, if it's the case, Samsung and other Android brands will have to clearly worried about LG a lot !

    how is the LG software bad? The settings app looks almost exactly like my Note3, the notifications drop down does it's job just fine, and the icons are customizable to ANYTHING you want so how can those possibly be bad? Even if you dont' like them, change them.

    Thanks for the great review. I have the Galaxy 5 and am about to upgrade. Do you think it's a bad idea so close to October maybe they'll come out with another version? I was leaning towards the V10 and I am just not happy with Samsung anymore. What do you think? um p.s. love the 'stache :)

    Nice review! However I strongly disagree with your views on the LG UI, ever since the improvements from the G3 (I don't remember the UI version numbers) the LG UI has been remade, rebranded...reborn, and the one on the G4 has to be the absolute best. I haven't tested this V10 yet so I can't speak on that. I use to be a big fan of HTC's Sense UI and this is the only thing I can find that comfortably replaces that. I have always hated Samsung's Touchwhiz UX, but the Note 5's is the least laggy and cluttered of them all. The long and short of it is that I find the LG UI absolutely beautiful.

    so basically put Nova on and it's the perfect phone? in using nova on my G3 and I agree that it is much better than LG's skin. in excited to get the V10 it's hands down the best phone out right now

  • @jatona123
    @jatona123 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    LG G4... If you use nova launcher... You loose the capability of 'double tap to screen off' features disabled... Someone told to tap in notification areas but looks awful... LG needs to work on their icon department for sure... Stock Android icon might be game changers.... Another drawbacks in dual window the use of apps is limited.... LG's camera on G4 made me switch from Note 4 to it. Looking forward to more reviews on V10, soon.
