The Sikh Empire was formed to fight invaders. Ex: Mughals and Abdalis from Afghanistan. It was powerful during Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s time. After his death, there were traitors as well as infighting going on. That’s how the British won against the Sikh Empire.

With the worlds history I'm pretty sure your ancestors took from others what wasn't theirs even if it meant over the corpses of the owners. Russians in Ukraine for example even take the toilets sometimes, dishwashers, etc. and just about anything they can loot that is of value.
World history is what it is, you got to hand it to the British that most of these relics are better taken care of than they would be if they were returned to the country of origin so why not display them, they are meant to be seen else they will be forgotten and slowly disappear. If British for whatever reason would return all the relics that are not of British origin then pretty much all museums etc. worldwide should do the same, no hypocracy.

Britain still remembers their proud moment of 200 years Colonial Rule over the indian people -
America is trying to do the same now

Very sad to this as an Indian. All of these should be in India not UK.

People saying that these artifacts are looted and should be returned will be happy to know that they are in the hands of a Sikh owned private collection. It should also be noted that in case of repatriation, the majority of the empire and its artifacts were produced in modern Pakistani territory.
