Thanks Andrew! That Cobra Jet wreck not good. It doesn't appear that the prep is set up for high powered cars, including the Plaid. Have to exercise caution there.
Andrew, glad he he made you run solo and not against that Cobra Jet. Sometimes things just work out for the better. Have fun, stay safe and look forward to your next video.
Wow, traction was horrible.. That's why I love the Bradenton track. Rarely ever traction problems at BMP. I may go to the track again soon.. Have to check BMP schedule.
👍 Yeah, it's a new track, so it needs a lot more rubber laid down to get it dialed in. They warned us in the drivers meeting. See ya out at BMP sometime soon-
Must be the lack of prep due to it being a new track, because something was sure off with it. That poor CobraJet. Hopefully it settles in or they get it figured out, or they might lose folks pretty quickly. Looked like a great event.
Good to see BoostedBoiz make an appearance on your video, any idea what the 'Fox body' ran? A little sad to see that 2 out of 3 cars didn't want to line up with a Plaid and the only one that did was another Plaid.
👍 That fox body is actually faster than this track allows (a 5.70 ET limit at the moment). It's known to run under 5.50. So every pass, it would cut power near half-track 😳
BTW, did you see our 5 races on the 1/4 mile with BoostedBoiz Kyle? th-cam.com/video/q010lyj-yko/w-d-xo.html (We also lent him our tires/wheels for his record-setting run last year)
It's not just the lack of rubber from being a new track. Normal track glue for hot days, doesn't do so well in the cooler temps. It was good karma not lining up with that Cobra Jet. Easily could have had another collision like you had a few years ago, only worse.
👍 Which is a good reminder that this crash wasn’t an isolated incident or specific to this track. We’ve seen many others over the years at each of the tracks we race at. If there’s one thing that *most* of them have in common, it’s a driver who gets out of it and then gets back onto the accelerator. It happened here in this video as well as that nitrous S-10 that hit us at well over 100MPH 😳
Ouch! It was painful to see the race Cobra slam into the wall. I think that there are naturally some pains in setting up a new track. Especially with minimal prep initially. Still, despite the cold temps and squealing down the whole track, it looked like a pretty fun event. With some very cool cars. 🏎
👍 Yep, they just need more rubber to get that concrete down to a lower friction coefficient, and those cold temps didn’t help! No substitute for a whole bunch of fast cars making a whole bunch of passes. 😃
Cobra Jet "Driver OK"? Hmm, that's subjective. Physically perhaps but looking at what's left of his $130k investment I suspect he's suffering from a sudden onset of cognitive dissonance over the value of drag racing. I wonder what the his insurance company will say. Sad, glad he's OK.

Track prep needs some work obviously. Sad about the Cobra Jet
Great timing! I feel the need for some speed 🙂
We’re just getting started with this track! 👍
Intro of mustang doing what they do best!
Well, there’s that. And he did just come from the direction of the “car show” 🤔

The good Lord is watching over you Andrew. No coincidences in life. Stay safe and thanks for the footage.
A big “AMEN!” to that! 😃
Amen!
That's the only time you will see Andrew getting beat by another Plaid with a .019 reaction time! My thanks to the starter 😂

@@TeslaPlaidChannel amen!
I wonder if the poor track condition contributed to that accident. The track should be nicknamed "slip and slide" 😫
@@blueribb99 It will get better over these next weeks and months as rubber gets laid down from cars 👍
Thats what happens when you let out of it and get back in it on a basically virgin track
👍Exactly right. We’ve seen that mistake on many tracks, and sometimes it’s recoverable. But this was just too much error for these conditions 😳

@@TronJockey It could certainly be argued that this is a sport for drivers with more dollars than sense 🤔
what a waste, better traction on the street vs this track.... and the red one smoked you!
6.33 vs 6.32 might not qualify as 💨
Especially when the tree wasn’t as we agreed and he ran slower 🤔
@@TeslaPlaidChannel with no traction there is no point in waiting for cheetah mode
@ The additional weight transfer that comes with Launch Control helps somewhat regardless of track conditions. But it is not a miracle worker.
