    good stuff. they need to have an electric category. it's just not the same man. nothing against teslas or anything electric. fast, reliable and can do it over and over again. that's awesome. but it takes skill and knowledge about your car to drive stuff that fast and not destroy your ride. in these you simply hit the gas and go. electric just dilutes the fun. but i can't knock anything, if it makes you the driver happy that's all that matters. some people never experience that. stay safe man!

    • @TeslaPlaidChannel
      @TeslaPlaidChannel  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Totally get the sentiment. It's a different beast for sure. We built Camaros (69, 74, 78) and Mustangs for years. Our last was a foxbody 5.0L LX 5-Speed on nitrous. A handful to drive. We wouldn’t trade those years for anything. Older now, backaches flare up when leaning into an engine bay for hours. So we like the newfound reliability: almost 2000 passes in our 2 Teslas (low 9s and mid 10s) without an issue! 😃

      1st 2.48: 86MPH @7800RPM
      2nd 1.48: 144MPH @7800RPM

      The point remains: This FOUR-door FAMILY sedan gaps 99% of the street cars at the dragstrip. Tuned Demons, modded Hellcats, Camaros, and Mustangs. Today’s young generation doesn’t even wrench of them themselves anymore, they take them to tuners. Bought vs bought. And most of those believe they are the fastest in town, only to get gapped wildly by a stock Tesla 😃
      But we are sporting, so we give them the hit and generally only race trailered cars instead. Yet why is that? To beat a showroom Tesla, it’s usually got to come in on a trailer? 🤔

      @@danielm4484 My first love was a ‘69 Rally Sport Camaro 327 (my first build in high school, thanks to autoshop class!), also a 350ci ‘74 Camaro in high school (was the only senior with two Camaros, thanks to an after school job).
      Then a ‘78 Z28 with a Nitrous 327 motor (out of the ‘69 after I wrecked it in a horrific street race crash). Next was an ‘89 Foxbody 5.0L LX with Nitrous and a 5-speed. That was the most engaging of course, and tougher launch perfectly 👍

    Fastnimport reliability relies more heavily on the knowledge and ability of the builder, than on a larger engine domestic drag car. It is a smaller engine, so requires more fitness, and leaves less room for error. My builder out of concord had many extremely reliable hondas built out of his shop. (Mine included). Rlz engineering made many a bulletproof 8 second honda car. While my car was only a 10 second car. It was a street car with a mild 1.6 liter engine, and it was bullet proof, on a budget

      It’s clearly an SRT Redeye, as seen dozens of times on this Channel. Same Hellcat logo with the red eye added. What else runs high 9s with minor mods and not even opening up the motor? EVs are fast as hell but they’ll NEVER be faster than the fastest fuel cars.
    If you’re about to go REEEEEE!! then calm down and understand that Lithium ion batteries have been developed over the last fifty (yes 50) years and NO great battery breakthroughs are coming and the batteries are just too heavy for the amount of energy they can hold.
    Buenos Noches.

      One word: Supercapacitors
      (Look it up)
      And then there are the “SpaceX cold gas thrusters” planned as an option on the next Tesla Roadster. Your comment didn’t attempt to address those, even though they were announced several years ago 🤔

      Huh? I talked to the crew for about ten minutes (off camera) and they talked about how all the kits (never “both kits”) are set to come on automatically at different points in their run. And then of course they ran 6.60s at over 200MPH to win the event last night. If they did that on “only two” kits, then more power to ‘em. 👍
      Yet another commenter said they had 3 kits but only switched two on for this test hit next to the Tesla.
