Wife has a 2014 Bolt. For a small frame 5-2" female, it was the best choice for the $ to be safe while keeping up with me on my R-1200RT. The 'Vibes' it gives off limit her ride time to about 1/2 hour before her fingers go numb, even with upgraded grips. The air cooled engine feels like sitting in a sauna on warm days. We keep hoping that the new year model will offer real improvements in comfort and instrumentation, but no... just new paint colors. I think she's suffered enough... will go look at the Honda Rebel 1100 or Indian Scout.
If you can go check out a honda rebel first. That Indian scout will feel a lottttt like this bolt and it weighs even more than this! Like nearly 600lbs! While the rebel doesn't really feel like a traditional "cruiser" the ergonomics are design for smaller people with a shorter standover height. It sounds like it'd fit her like a dream. Plus it's a suspended mount parallel twin, while yeah the 270° crank makes it more vibey than a sport bike it's smooth as glass compared to the twin in the Indian because it isn't mounted down inside a cradle frame.
Great motorcycle, I have a 2024 yamaha bolt r spect. Suspension feels hard specially on freeway. I was wondering if I can modify the Suspension so it feels smooth not so jumpy.
Guessing good for small to medium build guys or ladies who are looking for a bike that is easy to manage with a low seat height. You can tell this bike is geared for torque in the lower range due to no mention of horse power, having only 5 gears, a 3.4 gallon tank and it is air cooled.
@@genericallyaccepted I'm not sure. I've heard rumours that they all used to inflate numbers and got caught, so now they don't do that. I've heard rumours they don't want to be told by officials that they're making them too powerful, so they don't advertise it. But I really don't know.
@@richuncle9689 100% sure you can not do if you have abs breaks. They do not make the cable also if you try to adjust the cable to max extension it does not work! ( like if you reroute the cable ).

Oh man… it’s like Yamaha almost finished designing it and then just gave up when it came time to figure out the instruments. WTH is that thing they are calling a speedometer? It looks like it came from AliExpress.
@@PeterLoweOne just a simple analog gauge would have been perfect. It’s like they tried going digital but then used soviet surplus electronics to cut costs. Its just really weird how they could get so much of this bike right and then this one important (but easy) thing they got so hilariously wrong
No forward controls sits like a sports bike I want my feet out front I already have a 500 rebel don't like it,I was hoping this bike would be more comfortable but it sits like a rebel no thanks, guess I'll check the Kawasaki Vulcan next
This will be on my list of contenders.
It's definitely worth considering!
Love this bike
Yamaha did it so good that Harley just gave up and stopped trying.
Time to move to Canada! 🇨🇦😃

Nice ergonomics/comfort position sitting on this 2024 Bolt R Spec. Helpful review, thanks! Looks cool.
The Yamaha Bolt sank Harley-Davidson like a game of Battleship.

Been waiting for this review for a while! Planning to buy one soon. Great review, thanks!
A Koso TNT Gauge and a quality aftermarket exhaust(V&H, TBR, Cobra etc) instantly improves the Bolt.
that looks better than the rebel
These Bolts are bullet-proof cruisers that can be customized to the max. Great bikes!
Sure would be nice if it had an analog speedometer and a fuel gauge. Does it have push rods or a cam chain? 2 valves or 4?
Wish the Bolt came in 1100 or 1280. Yamaha had a 1100 and 1300 V Star both fun bikes.
Having a hard time deciding between this and the Vulcan 900 Custom.
Let us know what your decision
As am the same between this and the Vulcan 900

I almost never mention horsepower because the manufacturers almost never state horsepower in North America.
I have a 2014 bolt, at 6 ft & 195 lbs it doesn't feel small or cramped for me, just fyi

No fuel gauge again?
They could have upgraded the speedo by now, pity not sold in Australia anymore
So beautiful Bike - but why this awful tacho/speedo-combi
If you have abs breaks there is no way to change the handlebars if you want high ones.
Heads up !! It’s a really important if you get a bolt with abs.
I have a 2023 was thinking about going with mini apes, I do have abs but now after reading this I can't? Oh no

Why is the speedometer in K.M.H.?
great video peter

I have this year's bike but didn't come with the backseat in red stitching. How can I get this backseat?
Maybe from the dealer? That's where I'd start.
I asked the dealer, apparently the seat isn't in the catalouge 🫤

How’s the seat heat from the engine? It’s hot ?
I don't remember off hand. Hopefully others in the comment section can help. I won't be able to ride this bike until next year now.
Down side is the gas tank holds very little gasoline
True.
Can you put a bat wing on it?

Too bad they dont make it with ABS
Dude didn’t drive it 😂
"drive it" you say?? Oh god 😂
I just tried one for the first time, and I have to say…
That was the worst ergonomics and worst feeling bike that’s been made within the last 20 years
Lol zero wind protection
Not a big deal for a lot of us.
It’s a beginners bike.
lol you say "so/and again" every 10seconds...
