That is Awesome Beautiful 👍🏻 I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota that I have been looking for a shell for NO Luck 🤦🏼♀️ I came across you looking never ending search again. Thank You for sharing this with Us 👍🏻
I have watched all your videos and I wish they'd put that send button in a different spot! I like that back door. I like how you built the side real strong. I have had a camper before and I guess I'm used to what I'm used to. If I were to make my own camper like that it would be long enough for a shower and toilet. Thanks for posting this for us.
Well done very beautifully God bless you with the promotion of health and all the good in life this is what I understand father and son👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great job! I am making one too, framed in steel, then plywood, then fiberglass and then from the interior removed most steel used to curve the wood. But of course removing the frame increases the resin/frp/cloth costs. Thenk you for posting!
you did a great job. My only question is weigh. I'm working on plans for a camper built with rigid insulation for the frame and a 1/4 inch plywood skin covered with 6oz. fiberglass the weight has to be under 600 lbs. mine won't be half as nice as yours, but it'll do.
Out of curiosity what is the total of your expenses so far? If you would be so I cloned would like to hear how much each component cost from how much for the amount of what type of screws, adhesives, foam insulation, lumber, plywood, fiberglass, windows, clear plastic vent type for vent for roof, and etc...? In addition, how many hours you've put in so far for this type of build? And what about links to any of the parts you bought? I know I'm asking a lot but I'm on the fence trying take this task on aswell so any advice at all will be greatly appreciated.
Hey harris, cool to hear you wanna start your own personal build :) i will make a video about the total cost of the camper soon. So i can't tell you yet.. But i can tell you how long it took in our case: With the help of my dad we worked around 35 days on the camper. 6 to sometimes 10hrs a day. My brother who did all the electricals maybe worked for 4 8hrs days.. So if i did this only by myself (which is almost impossible in my opinion), it would take me around 70-80 days of work at least.. 🤔
Very nice. Windows very nice -- your source? Explain the cloth glued to foam - will there be a coating on top of that? Your brothers electrical is great. Cheers
Hey Patrick. All my windows are from a brand called carbest, ordered on a german website for not too much money. The cloth glued to foam is only done to make it more comfortable and cozy to life in. The cloth is the finished look and there will not be a coating on top of that. I did it this way instead of using wood to save weight. Yes my bro really did a great job!! i already tested all the lights, plugged my cooler in, heated up the cabin with my china heater and charged a couple batteries.. works really good so far :) cheers
This a great build with plenty of room. I know that you have build this to your specs. I ask is there a way to make it lighter. Like the top half fiberglass?
Thanks. Not exactly sure on how much weight but we never had any issues but i gotta say the flatbed camper i'm working on right now has a much stronger cabover.. Learning by doing ;)
I've never seen epoxy colored, did you mix a coloring agent or did it come like that? I'm going to make a camper for my flat bed ute, out of marine ply and glass and I was just going to lay the glass and epoxy it, (like I've done with boats) then once cured I was going to paint it with an epoxy paint. But your method seems quicker as 2 steps can be achieved in one step. Anyway great job, I'll be coming back to get some ideas from your build. cheers
Fully loaded its gonna be over 400kg. I was on the scale without having anything than the china heater and my brothers electrical installation in it and i got 360kg.
I think putting that diesel heater on the outside was a bad choice, when it's really cold it will be drawing in really cold air, which means, more diesel will be needed to bring it up to the correct temperature.
awesome build, bro. i loved your shelves next to bed and cloth over insulation. terrific job. i assume u used fiberglass? on my build, i'm trying a new technique called 'poor mans fiberglass'.
Thanks alot :) the cloth over insulation job wasn't too much fun haha. but we got it done. We used epoxy and fiberglass that's right. I've heard of poor mans fiberglass but did not find any of that in switzerland.. i would give it a shot if i could
What did You use on the outside was it fiberglass cloth and what else ? Like what did you use ?? I appreciate your time the built looks amazing btw I'm watching every episode now 😁
Hi, thanks! This is not plastic, it's fiberglass. The paint is not just paint, it's epoxy/hardener mixed with special epoxy paint. At the end you have a super strong, waterproof surface.
I just wanted to tell u guys that thanks on ur camper building inspired me to start building our own camper , u can go see it at (Yoel Roque )we still got more to go
I like the tip-out windows which can be left open when it's raining. Thanks for sharing.
True man i've been in this situation many times aleady i love them 👍 and they're fairly cheap windows actually
What windows are those? I can’t seem to find them anywhere. Thank you.
@@alancordell8782 carbest is the brand, i bought them on campingwagner.de (german website)

I have the same truck that's the same year. I've looked for something for a long time and finally decided that to do it, I'll have to build it.

Hey, you did it. You did it. I'm from Poland, I'm also going to do something like that, if it was very difficult.

I have watched all your videos.
Looks amazing good job!
Bravo👏Bravo👏Bravo👏...now come to Phoenix, Arizona and build me one!! 👍
I was going to say "amazing" but somebody already beat me to it.
Keep up the good work.
Great job!
Need a bigger tank for the heater if your going into cold weather or outback !

Thx for the info -- I have found someone else doing the cloth over the foam as well - I will do this method as well.
Cheers
@@patrickmckowen2999 i stole this method from ENDGAME on youtube, he does fantastic work
Genius idea for rear door and steps….
Amazing! What is the blue canister you installed on the truck bed? Can't wait for Part 4!
Its the diesel heater, on the other side is the diesel tank. Since i have a gas engine i can not hook up to the tank of the truck.

Replace wood frames with metal such as stainless or aluminum. Acp for walls. Use aluminum and acp for max weight savings but it's gonna cost more.
Love the build and cant wait to start my own. My only question is the bed over the cab. How much weight can that hold since its only made if 2x2's?
Thanks. Not exactly sure on how much weight but we never had any issues but i gotta say the flatbed camper i'm working on right now has a much stronger cabover.. Learning by doing ;)
What resin did you use? I'm very curious.
Good job! What wood did you use and how much weight?
albasia light plywood 8mm, this camper was around 500kg

I don't think i will sell any plans. Or maybe not yet. I hope i sell campers in future, not only plans 🤔
Hi, very good video !
What is that plastic film that you put on the wet paint and then painted over ?
Do you use normal acrylic paint?
