Hi guys. Many of you have correctly pointed out we didn't mention the torque specs for the bolts in the video. The specs are as follows: 8-12 Newton-meters (Nm) or 6-8.5 foot-pounds (lb-ft).

Should have added an oil fill and drain plug to avoid all this.

I think this unit is quite easy to service by the looks of it. Now the torque specs are available, that was most important details Active needed to provide. I am suprised by the disappointment in the comments. Seems as though the design is straight forward and quite simple. Really not much to it for replacing any of the components on this unit. I'm comsidering it but would prefer to bundle with premium accessories kit. Active please keep me posted when i can do that?

Can it be any 85w90 gear oil or is there a specific type that is needed?

Tighten till you hear a "click", then back off a 16th of a turn👍

@@CandanCamgoz Terrible idea, don't listen to this advice. Ever. Always follow actual torque specifications with a proper torque wrench.

Does everyone in the comments not realize that this process isn’t user friendly because it wasn’t designed or intended to even be done?
This is obviously a workaround to let active claim the pump is “serviceable.”

Oh my, I foresee so many issues with this maintenance oil change. Why wouldn't you just have an oil drain plug?

I bought this unit when it was released but if I had known this information before I would have never bought it, obviously I can learn how to do it but it is too much, it is a really bad design, to do an oil change in a vehicle It's much easier than this
I already bought it so I'll use it but I'm sure at some point I'll replace it with one that only requires a drain plug to change the oil.

Too messy to change oil for this pressure washer. I skipped this pressure washer.

Whoever Designed this should be Fired!!!
This is Not User Friendly to Service At All.
Doing an Oil Change on my Truck is Easier than this!
You definitely won’t be selling much of these.
Better Start working on Active 2.5 with a New Design Team 😂

Wow they should have developed an oil change chamber on this pressure washer without moving all of those components removed in the video. With removing so many components to do the oil change they just introduced many more opportunities for operational risk/failures by owners/operators. Essentially to change the oil on the 2.3 is a pressure washer rebuild. Hopefully the 2.3.2 will incorporate a quieter operation (after all it’s an induction motor, why is this pressure washer louder than my VE56) and an oil change chamber with a drain plug.

What's the torque spec for the bolts? "Ensuring the proper torque is crucial..." Doesn't provide the torque spec.

@@Carlos.RiveraNot a good idea. Torque spec would be ideal. Now they have posted it.

That is a big mistake. Most people don't even know what thrust bearings are. Put them in backwards and they will bind out and BAD thigns happen. This is going to be a nightmare. I HIGHLY suggest you rethink letting customers service this unit. This design is NOT end user freindly.
I could do it easy but without a mechanical background or significant experience you are going to have leaks, oil leaks and nightmare problems.
This is HUGE mistake to think end users can do that. You are not marketing a cam shaft to engine builders remember.

Hi there, thank you for your sharing your concerns! The 2.3's thrust bearings are symmetrical, they can go either way the user puts them and will avoid the risk of bind out.

Eeww That’s some ugly ugly oil changing procedure. Why not just create an oil drain 😭 woulda been nice.

Wow not exactly user friendly to change the oil. You could not have designed it so the pump comes off as a complete assembly!!!!
Wait till someone puts it back together and didn't realize an O-ring came off.
I think you need a new designer that can actually design a unit that is easy to service.
