    FYI bentonite clay is actually very drying/ is not good for your hairs PH and also has the same chemical reaction with your hair as a straightener. Infact it’s so drying it’s used in my other profession to pull out unwanted ink during permanent makeup or tattoos just by placing it over the area due to its ability to pull out moisture and oils Ect. Over time it can damage your hair just as any chemical straightener does so be mindful. I highly dont recommend it for hair but if you do ad vinegar to change the ph so it doesn’t harm your hair. Other than that great recipe. ( disclaimer hairstylist for almost 20 years and know from experience. And also a perm makeup/ tattoo artist ( 8 years) Also many naturals have damaged their hair terribly with it not knowing it is chemically altering your hair.

      Your Surgery Sister wow I always hear the opposite about how it’s pH balancing. And I never knew that about it being used for tattoo removal. I’m sure only for the thinner layers of skin, but does it actually fade the tattoos? Or is it only used to prep/cleanse the area?

    • @yoursurgerysister
      @yoursurgerysister 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Anisah Israel well tattoos only go 16th of an inch in the skin. And permanent makeup only goes into the epidermis anyway. And it’s properties actually draw fluid out. Which is why it works so great in your skin for masks but has to be used with apple cider vinegar to balance out the PH. If used treat it as a relaxer and only use it every 6-8 weeks on new growth. And always use a neutralizing shampoo or a neutralizer. Treat it as a chemical process. Hope this helped sis. Everything else she shared was awesome. Just wanted to be helpful. Not shade in anyway.

    • @yoursurgerysister
      @yoursurgerysister 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Anisah Israel Oh and on another note. Our skin PH is 5.5 and hair PH is just around 4.5-5.5 PH. Sodium bicarbonate has a PH of 8.4.

    This is great! I was blending in a small processor and you not only showed an easier way but also the best way to get the full benefit of the aloe gel. Thank you! And I just happened upon this video. The last time is processed a leaf it turned into liquid. No gel at all.. 🙏🙏🌹

    I’ve been wondering about the science of why aloe turns into a low viscosity liquid when blended for a while now. I blended it once, lost all the slip, and never bothered with it again. I guess I’ll be looking at Mr. Coats’ research and scraping with a butter knife! Thanks for this❤

    I still use blended aloe juice which I store in the freezer until needed, but I find for a fresh overnight prepoo, the fresh leaf does work infinitely better in deeply moisturizing. So yes, with convenience, comes some potency loss.

      @@georginaflemmings5074 u can drink it, swallow it, or blend it just make sure to remove the green parts, but after consuming the flesh I always follow it down with juice and then about 2- cups of water (because aloes are a cleanser) growing up Caribbean it was a must before school opened back up 🤢

I mean...like the past week...watching these TH-cam videos...so now i know that I can eat it raw, I'll treat it like coconut jelly ...thanks again for informing me of its amazing use...God bless

      @@georginaflemmings5074 yeah it’s a good plant but since times have changed (I’m in my 20s) not much ppl really use it often like before. But u could blend with fruit juice like apple , mango, or tamarin juice or any juice that’s not too acid. I just hate the taste and sometimes the smell.

      Sometimes, this method does take a little bit of practice to get down, so it's common to get chunks of aloe. I can usually just pick them out of the gel prior to using in my hair, but straining through a stocking can be helpful as well!
