You did a couple things to alleviate the issue that you were having. The thing that actually solved the issue was putting oil on the piston. The piston is the rubber part that is inside the nozzle. It's a very common issue with aap-01s, they come pretty dry straight from the factory; if you don't do your own maintenance early on, it'll dry up completely and start causing issues by itself fairly quickly. The nozzle sticking in the bucking is a good thing, you want that to happen; I would advise against putting oil in the bucking in the future. The nozzle will retract on it's own due to the nozzle spring and the nozzle block inside the bolt. The piston being dry causes the nozzle to get stuck and causes the bolt to not fully travel which makes it so that the nozzle does not reliably retract and gets stuck. Nice tool set.

I think I had tired lizard brain when I recorded that haha I still have the customers RIF so I'll go and clear the oil from the bucking later before returning it.
You're absolutely correct about the pistol being the issue, though I do still like to add a bit of oil or grease along the contact points on the top of the nozzle to be absolutely sure.
